Little place in a warehouse, delicious soft pillowy satisfying mochi. Highly recommend.
A great place to pick up some chi chi dango, manju, and some of THE Best mochi!! You can purchase melon, lilikoi, peanut butter, azuki bean, and so much more. I would definitely recommend Nisshodo Candy Store!! The prices are so reasonable, and the staff is very friendly!!
Picked up A LOT of mochi and chi chi dango for a 100th birthday celebration for a deacon at our church...You can call ahead to order or just drop in...
AMAZING!! I talk about this place all the time. The mochi is absolutely perfect. Nice and soft melt-in-your-mouth with a bit of chew and stretch. I haven’t had a single bad filling- they’re all delicious and we literally bought one of every flavor last time! I love this place so much I plan to have the mochi at my wedding next year. If you’re a first time visitor, know that if you have arrived confused in a commercial looking building area you’re in the right place. Price is also very reasonable unlike lots of places today. I’d give this 10 stars if I could!
Nisshodo Candy Store is a true hidden gem nestled within an industrial park, making it a delightful discovery for those willing to seek out its culinary treasures. While finding parking might be a bit challenging due to its inconspicuous location, the effort is undoubtedly worth it.

We opted for a mixed assortment of mochi, and every bite was a delectable revelation. The mochi had the perfect balance of chewiness and tenderness, with the flavors bursting forth in every bite. Whether you're a mochi connoisseur or a first-timer, Nisshodo's offerings are sure to impress.
While the location might be off the beaten path, Nisshodo Candy Store's handmade mochi is a testament to the hidden culinary treasures that can be found in unexpected places. If you're in the mood for an authentic mochi experience that's sure to leave your taste buds singing, don't miss this charming little shop.
haha so I kept telling my cousins about this place & they were like oh, candy's not really our thing. but when they found out it was a mochi spot, how the tables have turned.
this place is hidden in a warehouse - like other yelpers have stated, "LOOK FOR THE GIANT RED RADIO TOWER". this place is also next to a Home Depot + Costco!
we waited outside as there were two other people inside the store. it's incredibly small and they get very busy. I called ahead at 7 AM when they first opened so I could get my 3lbs of chi chi dango for my friends and family. my daughter and I ended up picking some mochi while we were there. got one lilikoi which my daughter ate. I had one bite & was surprised she could eat such a sour mochi with no problem. it was good if you're into sour! two melona + two lychee. my favorite by far was the lychee! melona was a nice sweet mochi that would go well with tea IMO. we requested for 6 pieces of chi chi dango unwrapped which they can do as well! our 3 boxes of chi chi dango were all wrapped.
the ladies up front were professional & sweet. they are a bit slow, but I can't blame them. they're making sure they are being gentle with your goods + not swinging it at you. the lady who rang us up even walked out of the counter to hand us our bag of goodies. highly recommend you stop by & try their treats!
Small little candy (mainly mochi) shop located in a warehouse area.
They make their own mochi and sweets, very soft and squishy: the regular plain flavor is my favorite but I’ve also had green tea red bean, lychee, lilikoi, and some other flavors.
Heads up that they have really limited hours!
When you want fresh mochi, this is apparently THE place to go ... lots of flavors and styles, plus they have arare snacks for sale as well.
Chichi dango is the most popular - it’s the only one I believe that doesn’t have a bean filling ... all the rest have a white or black or adzuki bean filling. Those with Western palates should be aware that these are not super sweet confections!
Probably one of the most iconic, old school, hole in the wall mochi shops on Oahu. A must visit for any fan of authentic, Japanese style mochi in a variety of flavors and options including chichi dango, daifuku, habutai, tsumami, uguisu and more. They also carry manju (yaki, yabure, kuri) and gift packs for those who can't decide. Current hours of operation are Monday through Saturday from 7am-2pm, with Sundays being closed.
Tiny little Mochi store that was hard to find tucked in what looked like an industrial area. Mochi comes in many flavors and is soft, chewy and a little bit sweet. Everything you want in Mochi. Walked out with a Hawaiian rainbow of onoliciosness.
Great gem for mochi for eating, gifts (omiyage), events, or whatever!! This is such an unassuming shop...Grey door with yummy treats inside. Their mochi is soft & tasty, so you cannot go wrong.
The last time I was there, I picked up mochi to give as a thank you. So I repackaged my mochi which you can totally do for thank yous, parties, weddings, etc.
There are a few parking stalls in front. Workers are efficient and helpful. Go early for the best choices!
