My favorite!! Must try! The food brings happiness to your body and you can tell it's made with love!! The owners both have so much aloha and makes their restaurant make you feel like your walking into a friends home to have something to eat! PS. Don't pass up the kalo cinnamon roll! The breakfast burrito and nachos ! Their staple is Kalo & I love that they partner with our community to bring our hawaiian foundation foods to a different level! Mahalo Umekes for your light, aloha, and opportunity to nourish our bodies with positive vibes and amazing food!

Nourishing. Delicious. Restorative. Pono. This is definitely the place to go eat after a hard battle at the nearby Capitol, Courthouse, or other edifice of Colonizer Babylon. This is real warrior food that sustains and builds inner strength. Some favorites: the Nachos (omg so good!), the kalo stew, the spring rolls. They often sell day-old musubi for cheap; these are an amazing deal for a fast cheap refuel! And who else has a Kū Kia’i Mauna flag behind the counter in downtown Honolulu?? That alone gets 5 atmosphere stars in my book. Don’t take my word for it. Try it. If you are a kia’i interested in vegan food but a little scared to try any kine place, this is an awesome place to start! Kū Kia’i Mauna!!

I recently discovered this place, and it has become one of my favorite places to grab lunch. I am not on a vegetarian diet, but I am trying to eat a more plant-based diet. So far everything I have ordered here has been quite tasty and the portion size is reasonable for the price. The servers have always been friendly, and the place looks clean. Today was the second time trying their tofu poke "bowl" special. I opted to get the poke with all greens, and I like that the "bowl" came with two varieties of tofu poke: limu and spicy. Both were good, but I liked the limu better. The spicy poke was good, but there was a bit too much sauce, which made it a bit salty, and it was not spicy at all. I would definitely get it again, when it is available. Looking forward to trying all the other dishes too!

I am often intimidated by vegetarian/vegan places as a carnivore. However, having just destroyed a 3-choice plate lunch at 'Umeke Market with as much gusto as a starving fat kid at Old Country Buffet... Well, this place blew me away. I already *miss* the Korean Mock Chicken (totally worth the extra 1.50) and the last bite is still in my mouth at the time of this post. Spinach Dahl (pronounced dall, I think) also excellent. Rice tasted very healthy. We also had the Kale Falafel (not pronounced kah-lay like this moron did whilst ordering) and it was alright, but nothing special. Recommend getting a 2-choice plate, get the spinach dahl, the mock chicken, and whatever side floats your boat. If you get a salad side, get the cilantro dressing.

The staff were very friendly and gave good food suggestions. I enjoyed the pesto pasta salad. The parking is available at .75 cents per 30 mins at Alii place parking structure across the street on Alakea. The found the dining area to be a bit sticky.

Wanted to get vegetarian food for “Green Monday” today and so glad I came here. Got Korean “chicken” and detox soup + salad. So good! “Chicken” of course doesn’t really taste like chicken but it’s tasty in its own way. The soup is like it says in the menu, *very* lemony and gingery. You’ll love it if you like lemon and ginger. Very so refreshing. Also, you can order on their website and pick up to skip the lines, no extra fees!

Looking for some good clean eats, this is your place. Kalo stew, kalo curry, falafel salad and faux Korean fried chicken are some of my favorites. Plus they take Apple Pay, so its easy to grab and go. Enjoy!! 👍🏼👍🏼

Really good food and really good sized portions. The price is a little high, but rent isn't cheap I suppose, and I do believe in paying your employees a livable wage. Totally recommend!

Wonderful food and kind/fun staff. I just wish it was open later or on the weekends so I could have it more often but I enjoy it when I can and makes a great treat for myself.

Kalo aina stew is hands down my favorite dish. If you love squid luau, like I do, give it a try. I was pleasantly surprised to find that I didn't even miss the squid.

We had a delightful lunch. Although we arrived just before closing, the staff did not rush us. Rather they cheerfully answered our questions about the restaurant and made suggestions about what they liked. We would give them 7 stars if we could. To be clear, they are setup like Chipotle. You select preprared items as you pass along the the line. The coconut curry soup was delicious and the giant vegan cinnamon roll was a real surprise treat.

Came here twice for breakfast during a two week trip to Honolulu. Very friendly service; had the Tofu Scramble (best I’ve eaten!) and the Oatmeal. Wish we could’ve had the chance to try some of the lunch options as well as they looked very appealing.

I love Umeke Market. The best vegetarian restaurant downtown. Their food is really good. My favorite is the coconut curry. I try to go here for lunch everytime I'm downtown.

As a non vegetarian, I have to say- the food was great- as great as the friendly service I got. Rather than try to make non meat like meat, their dishes (I tried 6) was happy just being its delicious selves. Highly recommended to meat eaters, as well as v’s, of course.
