We went for celebration of new year with a bunch of friends who love Sushi. The Sushi chef "Bobae" was a very talented young lady n over known her since she was working at Bozu Sushi Restaurant. As soon as I knew she got an independent I wanted to come n see her and so I convinced my friends too. The place itself are kind of old bar atmosphere but oh my gosh the foods are all so great we really enjoyed them all! We are already planning on coming back to her again!

Previously just a bar and karaoke type establishment, Chef Jeff (from Tokkuri Tei, Sushi Maruyama, etc.) has been adding upper scale sashimi type dishes to the menu. Interesting juxtaposition getting these types of dishes right along side your dive bar beers and shots.

Both the crab-fried rice and garlic fries were outstanding dishes that I had when I was there. Karaoke is also available, although we didn't use it. This restaurant's staff was polite and well-versed on the menu items. Just be aware that parking is limited, so you may want to arrive early.

This spot is super chill. Chad was running the show that night. Super cool dude. Really friendly and made the experience for us. The food is great there as well. We mainly went for drinks but ordered a good amount of food

The food was really good here except for the nachos, and salt and pepper chicken wings were just alright. Pad Thai was delicious!! Chicken gizzards were amazing and flavorful. Shrimp pasta was awesome. Definitely will come here again to check out other dishes. Chef comes out and is super friendly. Can get pretty packed on a Friday night.

Back Alley was a surprise stop in a night out with friends that I was honestly a bit hesitant about. I'd never been to it before and the place looked a bit crammed: but wow, did my feelings about it change quickly. The atmosphere is super authentic, not even necessarily from the place itself, but because of the folks running it. The servers feel like friends, the food is fantastic, and the private karaoke rooms, while a little tight on space, are really enjoyable ($1 per song btw). I'll definitely be heading back to Back Alley many more times in the future, and highly recommend that everyone else does too.

The waitress and waiters are funny and personable. Good food and drinks. Regular bar prices. Small parking lot but lots of street parking. Karaoke rooms available and its no charge to stay in the room when buying food and drinks. Songs I believe are $1/song.

Friendly, reasonably priced, lots of room if you really need to practice social distancing. A little too lighted for my nighttime outings. Overall I'd go back for a quick bite or simply to lounge with friends.

Went here for the first time a few weeks ago. Not sure how it is late night, but 6pm on a Saturday was pretty chill. Good drink prices and food was better than the average bar stuff. Food swings Asian, with a guy making sushi on half the bar space. No parking lot but stalls along King St and surrounding area.

Tons of singing and food to go around. If you are looking for a place to karaoke they have three rooms depending on your party size. The seats are comfortable until 30-45 minutes. Parking can be tight but street parking is usually available around the neighborhood.

I've been coming back here for over a year & a half now and they're still my favorite bar! I love the staff and the selection. The bartenders, servers, and chefs are all awesome. Everybody is easy to talk to and nobody judges. I can eat delicious sushi all by my lonesome, or inhale coma-inducing amounts of pork chops, steak, & fried chicken with all of my friends. Back Alley stocks a very wide array of liquors, including several choice whiskys, vodka, and sake. Dragon Roll, Hamachi Jalapeno, Mentaiko Pasta, Garlic Fried Rice, and Korean Fried Chicken are always at the top of my list. They have two private rooms for karaoke. Friday and Saturday nights get busy! If you're ever looking for suggestions on what to try next, just ask whoever happens to be sitting at the far-right of the bar for a recommendation (98% likely to be one of the owners or a BAC regular). Stop in! Say, "Hi!" to whoever is working. Smile. You'll be well taken care of at Back Alley Cafe. (Parking gets a little easier to find further down on Sheridan Street.)

The pork chops with onions and mushrooms was a monument to the culinary art. Service by Michelle and part owner Linda was enjoyable, pleasing and efficient. I will return as I also particularly enjoy the clams in soup made by Julie.

Great place to hang out with friends. We used the kareoke room as just a hang out and played our own songs with our phones. Tasty sushi as well!
