An airport resident. We had some time to kill till the next flight, so naturally we hit the bar. It is a nice bar as long as the airport bar goes. Have everything you would expect from a airport bar. Their food looked good but unfortunately we are full after 5 hours of airplane flight, didn’t order anything. They have typical bar food plus poke bowl and the similar dishes. Beer selection on tap was good. You can have Real Kona Brewing’s beer here. (The ones in the mainland are made by Anhauser Bush in the mainland.
If you have time to stop here you should check it out. I had the poki tuna twice it was so good. Tried poki tuna four different places on the island and never thought I'd find the best here at the airport.
I had a short time to get something to eat before my flight, but I liked how inviting this place looked when walking by it on my way to my gate.
I stopped in and went to the bar as it wasn’t crowded. The bartender Benjamin was very friendly and recommended the Passionfruit Margarita when I inquired about their signature cocktails. That drink was delicious. It was the perfect balance of just enough sweetness from the passionfruit purée, married with tequila, lime & triple sec.
I decided to order the Hawaiian dish Kahlua pork with cabbage. WOW, this dish was flavorful and so well balanced. Every bite was delicious 🤤
I’ll definitely seek this place out when I go through this airport from now on.
Pleasantly surprised by the great food! We came early if that makes a difference at 10:20am. There was no wait at all, we went in, sat and used the QR menu and ordered from it. It took time to load but wasn’t bad. We got greeted by 2 servers they were very kind to both my daughter and I. The food came and it tasted great! My Uncle Gary(?) burger was flavorful and juicy. My daughters stir fried noodles was good as well and she ate a lot of it. Glad we didn’t goto the food court right outside of the TSA!
Staff was so kind!!! This was the perfect place to go after going through TSA and being moody and hangry, they were so sweet and even refilled our hydro! Burger was cooked well and filling even between two people :) would 1000% to again simply for how kind the staff was
The food is excellent, the people are helpful and kind. I took one star off because contactless ordering system was a bit of a pain, and the tables didn't seem to get wiped off between customers. (Maybe because we were there at a particularly busy time) None the less, we thoroughly enjoyed our meal.
Pretty good food for an airport. Restaurant is well run, portions are large. Food is pretty good, plenty of seating and service is fast and friendly. No complaints
Pricy, but it's too be expected when your locked in an airport. They payment system is a bit clunky but for an airport or was an enjoyable experience. Quiet, clean and tasty pre flight cocktails. Ordered a double Bloody Mary, didn't taste very strong but was a tasty drink none the less.
A noon layover on Thursday has worked well for us at least. Immediate server attendance and offers to refill our water bottles for the flight. Then, the menu had stuff I've never seen like their Loko Moco which was awesome (burger, egg, rice, loads of beef gravy, and potato mac) as well as their fried spam & egg musubi sushi roll. I'm definitely content.
Antonio! You were an amazing server! Everywhere all at once. Our burger, fries, and teriyaki noodles were hot and fabulous. The portions were huge, definitely hold us over our 6 hour flight home.
Great place to relax on the airport. The food is quite nice
Not withstanding the fact that I struggled to find a good meal during our visit to Kauai, the Makai Plantation did not disappoint as we had an extended layover in the Oahu Airport. Both my wife and I had the newly added menu items, rice bowls. She had the mahi mahi and I had the Kalua Pork and cabbage. Both dishes were garnished with fresh vegetables and the perfect amount of pickled ginger to give and an occasional extra zing on the side of your tongue. Her plentiful portion of mahi mahi was done to perfection; my pork was excellent.
The venue offers a variety of seating from high tops to booths for just drinking. The tables have steel chairs that aren't as comfortable for those that have an extended layover. The quality of the food and service easily overcome this minor convenience. Definitely worth stopping here for a bite and a drink if you find yourself at Terminal C of the Oahu Airport.
I only had two nice double Bloody Marys. Ordering is via QR code. Listen: order what you want and it will come but don’t close out until ready to leave!! The ordering system is a bit confusing but it’s great once you get the hang of it. I don’t get how this system helps their efficiency. When you order it makes you think you have to close out to receive the order but don’t close out. Say “no” to that until you ARE ready to close just like a traditional system.
