This is a place you can get authentic Hunan dishes. We talked to the owner who is from Changde(常德).We are from Changsha. For a family of 4 including a toddler, we ordered 4 dishes that tasted better than what we could get in DMV area in the east coast. We got 1) green peper with pork 2) cumin duck 3) stir fry green (木耳菜)4)green bean with eggplant( my personal favorate) The first page of the menu is for authentic Chinese food. They also have Chinese American options which i am not going to comment;) The rice was delicious as well!!!we came back the second day for lunch and ordered food for dinner. Too many japanese food in Wakiki beach area, my parents prefers Chinese food. Highly recommend it for people who love authentic spicy Chinese food without the Sichuan peper tastes!

The food was fantastic!! I interrupted a bit while the family was in their own dinner, but they still made me some very nice food. I do visit a lot of authentic Chinese places and also eat very spicy (I have Chinese family…). At first they wanted to suggest certain things from the more moderate Americanised Menü, but i refused and took something from the “specialties” section and had a good choice with some hot chicken with peppers, that had a lot of nice flavours. Happy to return whenever I’m in the area.

Really solid authentic hunanese place for those who know. The 鱼香茄子 fried eggplant is the best I’ve had in Hawaii

Fried fish with hit sauce was really good. The place could use some renovation.

Food was *delicious* and the proprietor was delightful. The atmosphere was actually great too - a nice, clean corner hole-in-the-wall with street view. Complete with beer! We will definitely be back.

Small hole in the wall, not much to look at visually, but the good was bomb. My wife is from hunan and wanted to try something authentic. Hit the spot. would recommend in a heart beat

I really like the food here.. Family style servings. You Shang pork has great flavor. Ask for mild if you don't like it too spicy. Sliced fish with black bean pepper sauce is good too. A little salty but tasty.

This 5 star review is straightly for the house fried rice and Singapore fried noodles that we have ordered to go. I cannot remember how many times we said “omg so delicious “ while gobbling down the food. They tasted so good and the spiciness was just perfect. And each dish costed less than $10, which I found very affordable on the island. Well but the 2 items that we have ordered are not Hunan cuisine so we will definitely go back to try other authentic dishes.

Knows how to make good Chinese food but not Chinese American. The orange chicken sauce was good but the chicken is the stuff that falls out of the chicken. Small too hard. Make the orange chicken bigger and less hard. Then it whould be a 10/10. The guy working this is nice and cool 👍

Excellent Chinese food, you always see Sichuan style restaurants but this is Hunan style and I think I love it more than I love Sichuan food. We had the twice cooked pork, sesame chicken, basil chicken, Mapo Tofu, and a few others. Everything tasted amazing. This place would get my vote for best Chinese restaurant in China town. Worth a visit. I feel like this is a hidden gem on the edge of China town.

Got Orange Chicken and an order of egg roles. I liked it! It was hot and crispy, but I preferred the General Tso’s chicken to it slightly. Good Chinese food (American-style). They were friendly too, but weren’t too attentive. I would come back!

Some of my favorites during the two times I dined at Hunan Cuisine are the spicy sliced potato, sautéed lamb with cumin, and the stir fried water spinach, but honestly, everything on the menu looks mouthwateringly delicious. I plan to come to this restaurant more often and hope that it grows in popularity.

This lovely restaurant accommodated my gluten intolerance and peanut allergy while serving me the the best Chinese food I've ever had. The people are kind and the pork, lotus root, and lambchops are divine.

Soul Brother # 1 of Chinatown, Bobby here. I just picked up my favorite order Griddle Spicy Intestines, and Yu Shang Eggplant for the wife. I have the Spicy Chicken and a order of white rice. Trust me heaven on earth!
