Teruya's has great food and service! Was sad when they closed at shirokiya but glad they opened up again on Piikoi!

Quick stop for delicious local Japanese style bentos! The garlic chicken is ono, and don't forget to grab a few sweet potato mochi and andagi for the road. The tofu patties are good too. There is a small drink fridge with soda and green tea for sale. The staff is friendly and the service is quick. Teruya's takes both cash and credit card.

Got lucky and there was street parking right in front. It is a walk up counter; there were a few people ahead of me but the line moved fast. Ordered a veggie bento with goyah, karaage bento and andaagi. Everything reminded me of living in Okinawa, it was very good. My husband was happy to have good goyah champuru in the bento since it isn’t so common here.

Great bentos and andagi! Loved my shrimp tempura roll/onigiri thing 😅 For some reason, their fried chicken was one my favorites on the island even though it is not crispy anymore... Just come get a bento, you won't regret it. Very nice people too

OMG! I often pass this place on the Pensacola street but I didn’t realize this was such a great small lunch shop until I googled to find a good lunch shop near my place.

Not sure if their restaurant is open right now but you can find their delicious bento and andagi every Tuesday afternoon at the Kaiser HS farmers market. Don’t let the long line discourage you - you’ll want to get that andagi and sweet potato mochi. Don’t fill up on that, though - the bentos are a great deal. I got one packed with a shrimp roll, potato croquettes, chicken karaage, and side veggies for $7. Vendors don’t usually get the same location every week, so just look for his table - and the line!

Classic local-Japanese food at its best. Family-owned and operated, Teruya's was located in Ala Moana Shirokiya for 20+ years until it found its rightful place in the heart of Honolulu. All the bentos, donburis, and snacks are made fresh daily with portion size and food quality far exceeding the price. You don't have to be a local at this local spot, there is something for everyone with service that can point you in the right direction if you aren't sure what to order. Homemade andagi (Okinawan donut) and sweet potato mochi should not be passed up if they have some left!

I was really excited to get a vegetarian bento here after seeing a picture on instagram! It was a great little lunch for 7.50 and fun to eat. Also the shrimp tempura roll made to order was really good! The andagi was very tasty with a crispy sweet exterior. :)

Andagi, fried mochi balls (?), bento. All good! Friendly staff members. Sometimes slow service though when someone orders food to be made and next person in line is only to buy readymade stuff but still has to wait until the order is made for the first person. Not very efficient unfortunately.

They were still prepping at 9:22am (they open 10am) but still served us. We tried one they’re most popular stuffs: large roll bento and andagi. Pretty rad food and service, really nice dude too especially since it was our first time there.

They've been here for 3 years. The people are so nice, seems like family business, and very friendly. Their food is looks like very local Japanese food, it reminds me of mom's taste so much. It's very reasonable, just perfect amount of the potions, looks very delicious. This is bento shop and no eat inn. They also have $1 mochi donut and andagi. If it's close to my office and home, I'd come here more. They open 10 to 3 PM, so it's good for lunch. I'll come back here to get lunch again. Thank you for the delicious bento.

Love this little shop of goodness! I was looking for quick bentos and Yelp, of course, came through with a suggestion to check out Teruya’s. We ordered bentos over the phone and picked them up. While there, we couldn’t resist the freshly made andagi! You mustn’t leave here without an andagi or two! As for our delish bentos, hubby and I got a Karaage Chicken bento and a Shrimp Tempura bento. Both were under $7 which is such a great price for a great lunch that hit the spot. This is a must-try spot if you are in the area!

Ahh for the love of Andagi! Of course my andagi is the best but when you get lazy and just craving for some fresh crispy hot ones Teruya's is the ONLY place to go! ANDAGI: Is pretty sized right for the price at a $1 each its tempting not to just get one. The outside is crispy and the taste when biting in to it has the perfect balance of sweetness to it without feeling like your eating a sponge of oil. SWEET POTATO MOCHI: Its a sticky chewy delicious treat! It's not too sweet and very bite-sized. Although I rather get more of the andagi than these mochi ones. SHRIMP TEMPURA ROLL: My favorite roll out of the three I always leave hear getting more than one. Im a fan of shrimp tempura and this roll has the right ratio of rice to shrimp meat :P DONBURI: Cant go wrong with the sukiyaki don! Its my favorite! Its fresh, has great rice to meat ratio and the egg just completes everything! Also the meat is so juicy and not overdone! This may seem bias but for the bentos I always get the shrimp roll set, it has a little bit of everything and my favorite shrimp tempura. The various veggies and sides that come with it creates a perfect meal! They sell various Japanese style vegetables as well, such as lotus root, gobo and carrots, seaweed, squash, string beans, side rice, just the shrimp tempura. Its your ones stop shop for Japanese meals and desserts! The real challenge is the parking. Never the less you can always park across the street where walgreens/petco or the salvation army donation drop off container is and cross the street. Its all worth it for them hot, crispy and moist Andagi!!

Have to get their sweet potato mochi, it is out of this world and love their different varieties of bento, too many to choose from.

Great quality bentos and andagi. Wish they were open later and parking was a little easier to find. The chicken karaage and potato croquettes are very tasty.
