A place I tend to frequent quite often due to a nice bar and good pub food. It’s got a nice, relaxed, atmosphere, although it probably wouldn’t hurt for it to have a little more lighting. It’s very dark.
They have a huge selection of beers and wines from all different price points. However, the only reason I am deducting a point is due to the fact that their menu is quite limited. It’s really nothing but just bar food really and that’s all you’ll have to choose from.
That said, and why I frequent this place so often, is due to their chicken fingers. On Tap has to have the best I’ve ever had. They are huge! And meaty! Their fries are quite good as well. They have quite a vast array of dipping sauces as well. A lot seem to like their magic sauce. I always get their scorcher and cajun sauces. The former is quite spicy but very flavorful and the latter is smoky, a little spicy, and quite clove-y. It’s fantastic and alternating bites between the two is what I tend to do.
But like I said, you won’t have much selection to choose from otherwise, but I’m sure it’s all good. Also, you seat yourself which isn’t always a bad thing, but it seems like sometimes you can be overlooked. Last time I came in, no one seemed to notice me. I walked up to the bar to let someone know and the waitress admitted to me that she didn’t see me, so it’s possible that could happen. But service has always been friendly for me!
Best hot wings in Bham or the universe for that matter. They are sooooo good. Get them with a side of ranch and extra hot sauce and go to town. Other food is ok but the wings are the only reason to go IMO.
Great bar.. Great food and service is always very good. Fried green tomato burger is my favorite. Best beer selection on 280 by far.
To the management and owners of Inverness On Tap, THANKS for making the bar non- smoking. Been a long time coming!! Will see much more of me and friends and families. Best wings and burgers around, and by far best beer selection!
Great!. This is a great go-to bar to watch the game! The staff is always friendly and quick as well as the management! I always feel welcomed there. Ask for an odka and coke. Yes, I said odka. It is delicious.
Good beer & atmosphere. They have good wings, good selection of beer, and good atmosphere. Their fried pickles are some of the best I've had also.
Yeah, they allow smoking, but if you don't like it, there are plenty of other bars that don't allow it.
Food was OK, but it was realy cold inside.... I had to keep my jacket on during lunch....

Great Wings. On tap wings have my vote for best wings in bham. I love the taste and texture. The hotness levels are good and I have had the hottest.
Go early. If you don't like smoking head to this location early because it gets smoky in the evening. (Or head to the new Galleria location, which is smoke free) The wings are great and they will mix sauces (which a lot of other wing places like Hooters and Buffalo Wild Wings won't do). We usually get barbecue and scorcher mixed. We usually ask for extra sauce since they have started getting skimpy with it. The other food is not so great.

This was my second visit here, I stop in whenever I visit Birmingham from Florida since I usually stay in this area & it’s close by. Each time I always sit at the bar & have consistently received a warm welcome & excellent service from both Dani & this time SK… they are both amazing & have great memories as I hear them personally addressing all the regulars & knows exactly what they’re drinking. The food is always really delicious also. I can’t compare it to another location as this is the only one I know and will be back to visit next time I’m in town! Keep smiling & delivering great service ladies! I have noticed the servers walking around don’t seem as bubbly or smiling as the bartenders.
Great place to watch a game. The Magic Sauce wings are my favorite! Pretty much any beer you can think of, they have it.
I thoroughly enjoyed my experience at On Tap in Inverness. The food was great and drinks were enjoyable. My server, Landon, was the utmost in professional. His recommendations were spot on. He definitely knows his business. Never waited on a refill which is my pet peeve. He was always there for me.
We sat outside so we could bring our dog. Our server was very hospitable to our dog making sure she had plenty of cold water. This is a beer lovers place. If you can name a brand, its on tap here. Food is typical bar food. Burgers, wings, wraps and sandwiches.
One of my wife's and I favorite places to go. Not only for drinks... but their wings are amazing.
Landon provided amazing service during this visit. He managed the bar and also several tables effortlessly.
I highly recommend the grilled chicken cobb salad.
Excellent service every time! Several beers on tap, always served quick & efficiently! Great bar food. And they always try to put my game on for me when I come in, that goes a long way for me. Keep it up!
This location is very different from the Liberty Park location. The Liberty Park location feels like a nice restaurant that has a bar. The Inverness location feels like a rundown bar that serves a little bit of food. It seems like the local Cheers. There was a sign saying "seat yourself" so we did. A few minutes later my husband caught the eye of a server and she brought us menus. My husband ordered a cheeseburger and I ordered a Philly cheese steak sandwich both with tater tots. The food was excellent! The sauce for the tater tots has some kick but was really good. My Philly cheese steak sandwich was delicious and my husband's burger was huge. The place could be spruced up a little but it's worth a stop for the food.
