A special "Date Night" treat...everything was outstanding. No wait for our reservation, and an outstanding Old Fashioned got the night started. Lobster Deviled Eggs and Jumbo Lump Crabcakes, the tasty appetizers, served as the semi-surf portion of the meal. The Caesar (no anchovies) & Lettuce Wedge salads were crisp, refreshing, and perfectly timed. My wife had the Filet Mignon and I had the NY Strip...both were cooked perfectly and complimented by the Creamed Spinach and Au Gratin Potatoes. Coffee, Key Lime Pie and Peach Cobbler were the perfect end to a great date night meal. Not inexpensive, but worth every penny...
What can I say, this amazing restaurant truly deserves 5 stars. From the ambience to the wonderful servers and the exceptional food.
Every time we come here it is a top notch experience.
Tonight we came again and as usual, wonderful food and service. Danny was our server this evening and was exceptional, even bringing me a small taster of the soup my husband ordered as I had the salad but thought the soup sounded wonderful. And it was!
I honestly can not say enough good things about this place. It is always busy and I understand why.
Best steak place in Houston! Exceptional!
Superb service, excellent dry aged steaks, other great food options, an impressive wine list, and a varied and well thought through single malt Scotch whisky selection from the different regions of Scotland. Sadly there was no room left for desert. Looked great.
Absolutely amazing food. Probably the best steak I have ever had. The bacon wrapped scallops were amazing as well as the cheesecake our waiter was phenomenal
My wife and I celebrated our last 2 wedding anniversaries here and had a fabulous time bot times. We were taken care of by Richard the GREATEST wine sommelier we have ever met and Danny our Over the Top Amazing server. Last year we came in for our 9th wedding anniversary and the atmosphere, staff and service just blew us away we decided to make this our memorable restaurant for our 10 year wedding anniversary this year. We were so glad that we did. We were greeted with the same courteous and generosity as last year. When we say down there was a hand written card from the restaurant wishing us a happy anniversary along with champagne flutes at our table for our first toast. This was then followed by amazing service by Danny, Richard, the manager, the other waitstaff in the section we were seated in and to top it all off the food was outstanding. We had the best bacon wrapped scallops we have ever had along with a delicious porterhouse steak cooked to perfection. Everything was topped off with an amazing dessert and many congratulations on our 10 years together. We have decided to make this place our forever anniversary destination. Thank you for making our evening so memorable.
My server was great and dinner was good, my bone-in ribeye was over cooked and the mashed potatoes was under cooked but over all everything was amazing especially the dessert, the cheesecake was yummy.
The drinks , food, service was all excellent! Top notch establishment and I would highly recommend eating here!
Great food, amazing service! One of the best in Houston!! Mo behind the bar and Richard managing the steakhouse bring customer service to a whole new level!!

Maybe the best steak I have ever had, will definitely be on my list for next trip to Houston
Food and atmosphere was fabulous!!! The wine list is endless and a must do when in Houston!!!
Outstanding! Great food and our server Jason was top notch all night. We’ll remember this part of our visit from Toronto for sure.
Exemplary Service! The Bar staff is amazing! The food and wines always great!! A favorite of ours always.
We've dined at all three of Pappas Bros. Steakhouse and can't say enough about how excellent the food and service has been over the last 25 years. It's truly one of the top 5 in the country!
Best steakhouse period. We have been to Vic and Anthony’s, Mastros, Perry’s, etc. Pappas Bros still the best!
An excellent location to go to if you can afford it. Will say though few servers are not as good as most working. It makes it seem you got terrible service. However with the good ones, you are treated as if you were a celebrity. Food wise, will say the steak was seasoned a bit too much, but cooked perfectly. Amazing soup and dessert. Also the atmosphere is Amazing đź‘Ź!
The service at this establishment is a bit of a coin toss, depending largely on the server you're assigned. Some staff members were attentive, friendly, and eager to make our dining experience enjoyable, while others seemed distant but professional for sure.
As for the food, I must admit that the taste was delightful. Each dish was prepared with care, and the flavors were well-balanced and satisfying.
One aspect that left me slightly disappointed was the ambiance. The surrounding noise level was quite high, making it difficult to engage in a comfortable conversation with my friends without raising our voices. The constant background noise made it challenging to fully enjoy our meal and connect with each other.
This is an awesome steakhouse to eat at. Service is over the top and the drink menu is to die for. Yes the food was awesome go here and don’t forget your checkbook because yes it’s expensive. Go have a few drinks and enjoy.
It's not often that I decide to dine in downtown. While parking and congestion are usually enough to buffer my risk vs. reward towards other options. Pappa Bros was worth the hassle of $25 parking to go spend a few hours enjoying a fine steakhouse in my hometown.
The atmosphere is welcoming and friendly. The food is top notch even though the menu is slightly limited compared to other comparable restaurants.
We loved our dinner at pappas. The lobster deviled eggs where so yummy. Very unique and worth a try. The steaks were very juicy and delicious. The augratin potatoes where to die for. The toasted marshmallow mousse was sooo delicious
Pappas Bros. Steakhouse was incredible! The staff provide top notch service to our large party. The food came out in a timely manner, and everyone was impressed with the food. I had the Prime Ribeye and wedge salad. BEST STEAK I'VE EVER HAD!
My aunt and I came here for dinner. Hands down the best dining experience in Houston. Phenomenal steak cooked to perfection with a lot of flavor, unbelievable wine selection, and the best cheesecake known to man. Made in house and perfect in creaminess and taste. Stop thinking. Just make a reservation.
Amazing service and dinner. This was a real steakhouse. Now I ordered the live lobster and it was delicious. Down to the deserts they were awesome. We had the a5 as a appetizer and probably the best bits of steak I have ever had.
First time visit with a client and what an amazing service and atmosphere. I had the lamb rack entrée with the crab Mac n cheese and onion rings. Amazing sides but 1 star loss on the lamb rack due to lack of seasoning in the meat. Just seemed the flavor was on the outside but never made it inside. The lamb rack at Perry's, in my opinion, was very good. Definitely will return to try other entrées.
Service was phenomenal, kudos to Kirk for a job well done there. Ambiance was excellent, and the food was mostly stellar. Crab cakes are top tier, baked potato is good but not memorable, as are the steak fries, but the lobster mac and cheese was simply OUTSTANDING. The margaritas have a slight spice kick which I wasn’t a fan of. My girlfriend absolutely loved her lamb chops, but the bone-in ribeye I feel was missing something. It wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t particularly memorable or a standout, which was disappointing. I honestly have enjoyed my steaks at Perry’s or Taste of Texas more. Having to pay for parking downtown is an annoyance, so expect that when you arrive. The key lime pie is simply to die for, I will give them that. I’m struggling to parse my feelings about this place since everything was basically perfect except for the main dish. Like I said, the steak was not bad by any means, but it didn’t capture the high end steakhouse magic I crave every time I try a new steakhouse, so I’m not sure how I feel at this point about coming back anytime soon when there’s already a bevy of top tier options in Houston. I still recommend everyone try this at least once however.
We had an awesome private dinner in the wine room after our civil wedding. The room was the perfect size for our 14 person party, all seated at one long table. Our lead hostess Julie was amazing, so nice & attentive to us as hosts & every guest. We had a massive selection of food & every guest was able to enjoy anything from the menu. The wine was great, atmosphere was great, and service was great! Would definitely recommend
This restaurant hit on all cycles. Food, service and atmosphere were top notch. Definitely a top contender for best steakhouse in the Houston metropolitan area!
I was visiting the city this past weekend and decided to give pappas a try. Needless to say, it didn't disappoint.
Dress: Overall, it's business casual for the establishment. I had on jeans, loafers, a polo, and a thin zip up. I dined at the bar and it sufficed.
Bartender: Sharon was very attentive and knowledgeable in recommendations. A wine tasting was offered to see if it were to my liking, which was perfect on the first try. The old fashioned was delicious too. Appreciate the great service.
Food: I ordered the 10oz filet and jumbo asparagus. The asparagus was delicious and there's 8. The plate was layered with a buttery sauce which paired extremely well. It had just the right amount of crunch as well. I ordered my steak medium rare and boy was it fantastic. It was tender, juicy, and very flavorful. Hats off to the chef, it made my top 5 list.
Music: Forgive me if I'm wrong, but I believe her name was Cindy. She did a wonderful job on the piano. I was right next to her so naturally we had a conversation in between her set. Quite the resume she has and she'll be more than happy to play something for you as well.
If you're ever in the city, pappas is a must. I'll definitely be coming back here.
I’m torn. Amazing decor and atmosphere. Stupendous drinks and wine list. Steak selection was one of the best I’ve ever seen in the world. Ridiculously large servings. Steak perfectly cooked. But…. I just can’t believe how oversalted my steak was. And the sides were unimaginative standard steakhouse fare. Maybe I was expecting a bit too much but I’m rating based on the price paid (OUCH).
Love the ambience, food and service.
The waitress had great recommendations for us.
The steaks were perfect!
Will definitely come back.
My favorite place to celebrate a birthday or any occasion really. At first look the decor is impressive and inviting. Restaurant employee's are some of the best I've seen and there consistent. I like there menu simple and family style. But of course the food is the star and the drinks and cocktails are a huge hit. Can't wait for another memorable vist.
Good morning I just wanted to express how great the experience was last night!! The place (z on 23) didn't want to sit us last night and we had to choose a different place and I'm go glad we choose you guys!! The waiter and waitress was awesome! We had a lovely time and will definitely come back!! I'm grateful and enjoyed my birthday! Thank you all again!
I am giving Pappas Steakhouse a five mainly for service. You certainly my feel like they are taking care of you at this restaurant. The steak is pretty good too. Mine went down like butter. Add a few nice cocktails and this can make for a very nice meal.
This place is delicious if you don't mind spending some money. The service was just great and our waiter was always attentive and patient as he would explain many things we had questions about. The sides were seasoned right and fitted perfectly with the steak. The dessert is something I highly recommend to try if you get a chance.
