Took my best friend for her 55th birthday dinner because its her fave place! She always gets Pasta Carrabba and I had the crab cakes! Even though we arrived 30 minutes to close, everyone was professional and quietly performing their closing duties! Our waiter was attentive and expedient with our order! The food and drinks were a perfect cap to a day of celebration! Highly recommend for any celebration meal!
Been going to the Kirby location (and Voss too) for at least 15 years. Consistency in the staff and the amazing food. (Mushroom stuffed Ravioli has got to the in the top 3 in the world!! :-) The staff also ranks WAY up there as being THE most professional and well trained. The "go-to" place in Houston.
Always love coming here. We live in San Antonio and make it a point to make The Original Carrabba’s at the top of our restaurant list. Great staff, wonderful food and great atmosphere. See ya next visit! ❤️
The food is fresh. The service is beyond compare. Rene is The Best waiter, and we always ask for his station! It's absolutely my favorite place to eat quality Italian food!
We’ve been coming here since Day 1! We love the food and the service and the atmosphere. And “Mr. C” even joyed is for a few minutes last night at my son’s birthday dinner to reminisce and catch up! This is THE place for both special occasions and everyday meal. Thanks as always Carrabba’s!
I’ve been going to the Original on Kirby since they opened ! Always impeccable service and food.
My favorite is the Pollo Rosa Maria and some wonderful Lemon Sorbet for dessert, although Johnny once brought me some cake for my birthday that was spectacular also !
See you soon !!!
This is the original! Love the food and the service is on point! One of my favs
I love carrabba's. i had the lasagna and it was delicious. The bread and dipping oil is my favorite. The shrimp and crab appetizer was the best. Our waiter was outstanding.

Great service from the valet parking to the manager who stopped by the table. Our server, Steven was awesome and the food delicious. Try the Brick Chicken or the Lasagna. Yummy!

Awesome place! Awesome food! Awesome staff! Will visit again! Thank you so much!
Excellent food and superb service! The veggie pizza was outstanding. We hosted a group of 40 and everyone enjoyed. The grilled vegetables were perfect and especially enjoyed a goat cheese flooding in a delicious red sauce.
My favorite!! I love everything, service ws on point. Food fresh an wine ws incredible
The starter bread was my favorite. The food I do give 4 stars not over all my favorite for Italian. I got the Bryan Texas the chicken was really good juicy and tender and had a great flavor. The Alfredo fettuccine that was accompanied with was lacking flavor. My husband had regular spaghetti with red sauce and he said it was good but not great.
I also want to point out that I am a little disappointed in the way they treat their customers (not the server, he was great and I give him 5 stars) but the waitress or the staff up at front. I was not dressed nicely since I have my son at the NICU and have been spending a lot of time in the hospital and they sat us all they in the back where I noticed they sit the families with babies/toddlers. I also couldn’t really walk due to c section and I couldn’t believe they sent me to the last table they had.
November 18, 2023: First time at The Original Carrabba's. Impressive ambiance; attended a birthday party as a guest. Once seated in dining area I viewed several birthday parties where the waiters were serenading tables with birthdays - what fun. The bread - crisp dark crust with soft sourdough interior - and olive oil with herb dip were excellent. They could offer this as a to-go option and make the city very happy.
Service was attentive - our waiter and other Carrabba's team members kept our water and/or wine glasses filled and inquiries about the menu items were promptly answered.
All the food served looked great at our party of nine table, but the portions varied; my dish was the seafood ravioli - delicious but the raviolis were pretty thin (photo provided). Person to my left had the 'Pasta Weesie' - incredibly rich looking (heavy with cream and butter - view the photo!), she ate only half and will try to 'thin' it with spinach and other items when eating it at home. The person in front of me had the Carbonara - delicious I was told.
No one opted for dessert, but the birthday gentleman enjoyed being serenaded to and shared the birthday dessert with his wife and another guest.
Overall, Carrabba's is a restaurant where memories are definitely made. I just have to try additional menu items...during lunch so I can afford more of their dishes.
First time here had an off menu appetiser. Drinks were nice 😊 Service Great!
We enjoyed our Friday dine out at Carrabba’s
Few things to highlight:
1- amazing services, very friendly waiters.
2- food was good and flavorful. Not the most amazing Italian but proper and fresh! my only critique is that it was a bit salty for my taste and slightly heavy.
3- pricing is reasonable for Italian food.
Have none alcoholic mocktails.
4- we had an 8 months baby and they have highchairs and coloring but the place was too crowded and load for her. She enjoyed seeing people but got tired from the noise towards the end.
I have been going 2 or 3x a week just for Take Out. I am midway through dental work and this is a great meal for me. The quality is far above any other Italian restaurant with a similar name. I can’t wait to take my daughters and try the Dine In experience. This reminds me of an old authentic restaurant from when I was a youngster. The professional high end atmosphere has me hooked. Thanks for Providing us with Old Fashioned Service and Quality.
Paul and Malory were pleasant, courteous, professional, and efficient! The food was delicious and fresh! Had a great time for friend’s 80 years old birthday! 👍👍👍
Solid place. But it’s expensive so don’t consider this a huge knock against Carrabba’s bc honestly, I’ve only been once (2023).
Overall the quality of food is a 5 star. However, the flavor profiles are not my jam. For instance, the mussel appetizer is great. My friends all love it. Good rich garlic, white wine sauce with butter-cheese-etc. Their sour dough bread is incredible so order an extra basket and dip it in that mussel juices. However I don’t care much for the lemon acidic profile. It’s great for some people but just okay for me.
The pasta. Good. I actually ordered their $25 lunch menu restaurant week deal with pasta, a soup (or salad), and fried calamari. All very good dishes but I’ve had better in each category. The soup is hearty, and would be proud to make it. But it just didn’t click with me. Obviously it’s way better than Campbell’s but compared to ChickFilA, I actually prefer ChickFilA.
Tiramisu? Good. 38 out of 50. Compared to Maggianos, M is better in this and thekr fired calamari. I do recommend Carrabba’s but we all dropped $45-50 each per person for lunch so it ain’t cheap — so thank inflation. Overall, very satisfying but the flavor profile and price are bumps in the consumption journey.
If 3 star is average, Carrabbas is a solid 4 star.
Went there for lunch, not busy at all due to the cold weather. Service was excellent, food was good, could be better. Bread and herbs oil was delicious. Velet was quick. Over all, lunch was great
When I think of Carrabba’s I think of the chain restaurant, but think again! This is The Original and you really feel pampered dining here. The service and food are impeccable! The staff is friendly, professional, and attentive. You can’t go wrong and you won’t be disappointed.
Had a wonderful date night at this restaurant with my wife. Has a lively vibe. Food choices are amazing and services great. Ended up ordering an Italian bottle of wine and 30oz tomahawk Wagyu stake. The portion was large enough for 2+ people. Was excellent and Highly recommended.
Had a great lunch today. Grady was our server. He was very nice and attentive. We had a caprese salad with handmade mozzarella. I had Chicken Bryan . It was so flavorful and tender. My husband had the Brick Chicken.
The owner Johnny stopped by and visited with us. Such a nice guy.
We love this place.
This Houston institution is by far my favorite Italian restaurant. Of course they have all the old standbys, but they constantly have great specials and new menu items. if you haven't tried the original Carrabba's, you really have no idea what you're missing. The franchises are good, but there's nothing like the original.
Everytime I come here I am blown out this world by the food. It is so delicious always been a hit and never a miss. I forgot to post my appetizer. I had the crab cake ( love the sauce by the way)
The ambiance was great. Everything was to perfection. Our waiter was phenomenal, very attentive, and handled most of our party by herself .Will come again.
There's a reason this place has stayed open and busy in a city that sees restaurants come and go like a summer cloudburst—consistency. The food is always good; the service is always excellent. By nailing those two elements, long success is almost a foregone conclusion. However, Carrabba's also has the added benefits of a great location and its cachet, along with not just consistently good food but a great variety of options. Cheers!
My partner brought me here for my birthday! We got the Tuesday T-bone deal and it was SO GOOD. We had medium rare with loaded mashed potatoes. It also came with a salad. At the end, the team got together and sang me happy birthday and gave me a complimentary dessert! It was very good too. My waiter, Edgar was amazing! Thanks for the great experience!
