The baristas here are really good and very friendly. This was my first time in Houston and I wanted to visit local coffee shops and experience their brewed coffee. I have to say I loved it. Nothing can brighten up your day better than a perfectly brewed hot coffee.

This is a must visit place if you are in Downtown Houston. I would definitely recommend it.

Most of my coffee trips are to the large coffee chain. The main reason is that I do not live or work nearby. The times I visited, my drink orders have been great and the baristas were friendly. I think the large coffee chain aims to have the quality, but adding a shot of quantity (yeah, a coffee pun). Closes daily at 7.

Industrial atmosphere with house made syrups. There’s almond milk for non-dairy customers as well. Really great mocha with a bold taste of espresso.

The cold drip coffee machine on the counter helps make the place look 'legit'. They got pretty good coffee and a varied selection of pastries (loved the danish and muffins). But overall... For hangin' out and brunchin' I prefer going to Blacksmith. Catalina is more for grabbing a quick coffee when you're headed somewhere.

Catalina Coffee is where coffee connoisseurs mix and mingle in Houston's 6th Ward. The high, open rafters, exposed brick walls and industrial vintage design create a relaxing environment to sip coffee while reading a book or discussing art with friends. If you enjoy a patio setting, they have outdoor seating in the front and on the side for those rare Houston moments when a cool breeze blows through. Special perk is the free parking lot which is a thumbs up for the Washington Ave area. The staff is friendly and attentive.

This Seattle inspired coffee shop offers freshly roasted beans, locally sourced products and pastries from Weights & Measures. Try a latte and an almond croissant!

I probably go here more than once a week and the staff is amazing. They are super fun and wear cute hats. They also tend to remember you so that usually when we get to the register we do not have to order. In the afternoon they tend to turn the music up more which is nice. The ONLY downside is no free wi-fi.

Catalina Coffee was one of the first of the artisan roasters in Houston and in my opinion, is still one of the best. Coffee roasting is an art. Time versus temperature versus bean profile. Even beans from the same single estate, if harvested in the spring versus the fall, may require adjustments of time or temperature. By roasting to the flavor profile of the coffee bean instead of to the color, Catalina produces world class coffee. Attention to detail in the weighing of the coffee, x grams per x milliliters of water, water temperature, grind, time. Flavors that one wouldn't know were possible in a cup of coffee.

A fine coffee shop.. I find Catalina to be amongst the top two coffee shops in Houston. As far as quality and consistency, it does NOT disappoint.

key location in Midtown and seconds from Downtown, with decent parking available, this little gem seems rather inconspicuous cuz it's done tastefully and with refinement. plenty of indoor seating. and patio seating wrapping halfway around the shoppe.

The coffee is on point. brewed scientifically with art. sweet, delicious, full - bodied and can be bold if u dare to quadshot. can't praise their coffee enough.

Cons: I went in on a Wednesday at noon. No wifi. wait. NO WIFI? ummm....am I at a coffee shop? it makes no sense.

Best Coffee in Houston. So, the coffee is good, but so is the service. And I love their pastries. Not many places have good scones, but this is one that does them very well! The ambiance is laid-back. The one downside is that it can be tough to find seating at certain times of the day. My favorite coffee is the Stout Americano. It's like European coffee, and it's done right!

Fantastic coffee and super friendly staff. One of the best cappuccinos I have had anywhere and the pour over coffee is wonderful. Don't forget to take home some fresh roasted whole beans when you leave.

Amazing Coffee. The place is small, it seems confused and not organized. But the coffee is amazing, the best in Houston, I will definitely return soon...

Great espresso. This place pulls a tasty shot! What more do you need to know? Not many places do in Houston, so this is a gem. No wifi.

A real coffee house!. Catalina Coffee shop is exactly what a coffee shop should be. A small place to enjoy people and conversation. The service is friendly and the coffee is outstanding! The coffee is prepared with care, skill and an artistic touch. Go check it out!

Coffee geeks unite! Catalina serves the best espresso in Houston. Whether you find Max, Sean, Ben, or anyone else behind the bar, you'll get a great drink. Lattes come with free latte art included. Max also roasts his own coffee, so the beans going home with you are usually a few days old. Be sure to get the chocolate almond croissant extra crispy.

The Best Coffee. By far my favorite coffee shop in Houston. The coffee here blows away the competition. On the downside, they seem to close very early on the weekends, or at least they used to, which I find odd for a coffee shop especially when you can't even get coffee after dinner? Also the atmosphere isn't the most inviting or comfortable. But if you want great coffee this is place.

By far some of the best, if not THE best, coffee in Houston. I've been to many places and had many lattes, but this could compete with the best I've had in New York, Paris, London, or Rhodes for sure. My husband and I go there quite often because the staff is friendly and they really know how to make a great cup of coffee. By far one of my favorite places in all of Houston.

Arguably the best coffee in Houston. In a town full of Starbucks it's refreshing to find an independently owned place that takes it's coffee seriously. We tried the Guatemalan blend and it was delicious! Try the pasteries too.

Mmm... coffee. Defnitely a coffee shop favorite. delicious coffee for a great price. they also sell whole bean coffee. the pastries are very good and fresh but they go fast early in the day. the guys working there are always good to talk to. comfortable place for pitching up a laptop or reading a book. lots of natural light. there's always a good playlist going.

A latte for 4.50???? A latte with syrups and alternative milk?? I am ASTONISHED. Had the most lovely iced vanilla latte with oatmilk here. Beautiful place with parking in the back and super friendly staff. The coffee itself was delightful and creamy, as well as perfectly sweet. I loved the vibes here, super upbeat with tons of laughter and good coffee. I’ll be back!

This spot is always a decent spot to stop by after a haircut at Cutthroat. They've got a decent selection of coffee options, and a couple baked goods. The cookies in particular are pretty good.

CC has really friendly and helpful staff. I stopped by after lunch for a double shot of espresso and I wasn’t disappointed. I didn’t have to wait long even with the large number of people inside. The choices are great and I’m sure the pastry selection is better earlier in the day. I would definitely visit again and try other items on the menu. A great coffee shop. Don’t miss the back entrance from the parking lot. They have a wide range of indoor seating; there is outdoor seating in the front and on the side of the building with some shade.

We've been here twice, about 5 years ago and a few days ago, both visits scored some great coffee. For some reason I overlooked doing a review so here it is. I picked up a bag of Amaya Coffee Roasters whole beans, temporada, an espresso, I love the beans and the presence of a roast date on the bag. We enjoyed a couple iced mocha coffees. Check out the huge gorilla mural across the street.

Catalina Coffee is one of the best coffee shops in the area. Their drinks are excellent and reasonably priced. The shop is a great place to catch up with a friend but may not be the best to work at (not always a lot of seating, outlets, and noise level). Would definitely recommend everyone come here.

Absolutely love it here. The iced oatmilk latte with their house-made syrups is my go-to (loving the lavender syrup right now!). Working environment is good. Never too loud. Online downside is they don’t have any outlets in their dine-in area?? So make sure your laptop is charged up before coming here to get some work done.

This is my favorite coffee shop In Houston. Their coffee is so tasty and smooth. And even when the line is super long they work very fast so you never have to wait a long time.

Great coffe and pastries. Pretty small but has a great vibe to it. Plenty of parking at the rear of the place. My iced latte was actually one of the cheapest that I've gotten in a while and was delicious.

Experience: 5/5 Atmosphere: 5/5 Service:5/5 By far the best coffee I’ve had inside the loop. Going to buy their coffee beans I like it that much. I normally order ahead in the morning before work. The staff is super friendly. Seating is a bit odd and the space is a little small but but if you’re looking for excellent coffee I highly recommend this place!

I came on a Sunday afternoon. Good little coffee shop. Seems like a nice spot for locals. Not much seating, kinda feels crowded hence the reason I gave 4 stars.

I love their coffee. (Mocha with an extra shot of expresso). The staff is friendly and they get the drinks out fast despite being busy most of the time. I usually don't stay, as I am working. But the place is usually full of people sitting around visiting. Both indoor and outdoor seating.

Their coffee is delicious. And the baristas are so very kind! I spilled my coffee all over myself and the floor and not only did they clean up after me but they surprised me with a new one at no cost. I don't usually leave reviews but cannot recommend this place highly enough!!!

The coffee is delicious but $3 for a black coffee refill is high. You are supporting a small business so I get it. Not sure how many times I’ll go back

Vibe- Such a cozy coffee shop, they had me at whatever playlist they were playing because it was giving early 2000s (roll out x Ludacris is the song I walked in on lol) There’s a good amount of seating outside and 3 square tables with a bar across the back wall with some seats inside. There’s a door on the front of the building and there’s a back door too that leads into the parking lot outside. *I noticed pictures on the walls all around and asked the barista that rung me up about them, she said they are by a local photographer (Robert A. Sykes) from his trip to New York. I think it’s neat that they use art from locals!* Customer service- Great! Food/drinks- I ordered a hot chai tea with vanilla and oatmilk; it was yummy. Parking- There’s a few spots on the street right in front of the building and there’s a lot out back with a good amount of parking

i would say this place has the best coffee beans in Houston. but your coffee can be hit or miss depending on the barista. i was disappointed recently that they no longer offer a free latte with a bag of beans. they only give you a free drip or americano. not sure what made them change the policy since a latte is only a couple dollars more than an americano. i hope they rethink this policy! only reason atmosphere is 4 stars is the hard benches and lack of a comfortable couch or lounge chair.
