We ordered bolani, mantoo, goat karhai, hummus and chapli kabob for 3 adults and a toddler. Servers were friendly. Food came out 10-15 min after we ordered. Generous portions. We demolished all of them with no leftovers to take home. Delicious food! We will definitely come back again.

A fine Afghani restaurant in Houston. They have a diverse menu consisting of soups, salads, rice dishes, chicken, lamb, beef, and vegetarian items. They also have breads, hot appetizers, dessert, and drinks.
Their portions are large, the food is very tasty, and their prices are reasonable.
The place has enough parking outside. Their dining is in-door. They accept payment by cash or card.
Maybe 2-3 times a month, I will drive a good 2 hours on a round trip - JUST to pick up a couple Whole Chicken platters, for my family. Afghan Village is too tasty! I am ashamed to admit I always ALMOST demand extra chutney, like my life depends on it - and yet, the staff is always so kind about it. Good people, good food.
Absolute top notch hospitality. We ordered their signature goat and lamb karahis and a few eggplant and dal dips. Everything was so tasty and our waiter was patient and attentive. The green tea was also delicious and paired well with our meal. Definitely has a cozy family vibe in the restaurant. Highly recommend!
The atmosphere is fine, maybe a little cheap even. But the food! Delicious! I love the goat karhai with rice. Might sound pretty different for some, but I've gotten other people to try it as their first goat meal and they loved it too.

Delicious! First time eating Afghan food and it was fantastic. The staff was all very nice and helped us pick out food for a group of 7 people. The naan was amazing and the tandoori chicken is exceptional.

Afghan Village Resturant we are visiting since it’s opened almost 6 years+ before. We always enjoyed their food.
As per their specialty of authentic Afghani dishes sometimes we feel different than previous experience but still they are in top 3 for their dishes.
Our always favorites are Chapli Kabab, Mantoo, Bolani and Qabuli Palau.
This time Bolani was little different from round to oval shaped but the taste was fine. Chapli Kabab is much better than any other afghan restaurant.
We had an amazing experience! The food was excellent. We sat on the floor in the raised platform area with cushions and enjoyed a real middle eastern moment. The green tea with cardamom is wonderful and the people friendly!
Great food and the staff here is great. It’s a really nice place to try, even if you aren’t familiar with the cuisine. They have pictures on the menu and it’s mostly grilled meat with either rice or naan (bread). You can’t go wrong here. Everything is good, made fresh, and served hot. Definitely give it a try.

I certainly agree with the questions raised over service. After walking in, I actually went to ask for a menu and went again to order food to prompt service. There was a small buffet on order, but I on this occasion I ordered from the menu (which is well illustrated for those not familiar with the dishes).
The staff were very friendly so zero issues there and the food was good.
Portion sizing seemed good and the botani was certainly nice.
Amazing food! I've been visiting this restaurant for at least a couple of years now. I'm glad they survived the COVID interruption and continue to deliver excellent food. I always get the Chicken Karhai and Kabob-I-Zumzuma, but have tried several other dishes and like most of them. Service can be a bit slow, but that's expected as everything is cooked to order.
As with everything these days, the prices have increased considerably though. I've attached pictures as of menu as of December 2022.
First experience with Afghan food, and we were impressed! We ordered the All-in-One platter which was massive for two people. It included many different types of kebabs and ground meats on a gigantic mound of rice. All the meats tasted fresh and perfectly seasoned. The rice was fluffy and flavorful.
We also got the bolani appetizer (turnovers filled with leek, potatoes, onions and herbs) which was served with spicy green sauce. It was so so good!! It came out piping hot and crispy. We’ll be back for sure to try the stew-based dishes!
Of note, the restaurant’s tablecloths and overall decor was a little outdated. The menus could also be improved as the pages were old and sticky. They also used tissues for napkins.
Food quality and customer service is great. Ambiance can be improved. I’ll definately recommend this place if you are craving afghani cuisine.
To start off, the mango juice was so delicious. Creamy and not too sweet. The chicken and rice were well seasoned and not overcooked. The lamb tasted very good but was a bit tough. Other than that everything was spot on. The ambient was fairly quiet and comfortable. The server could've been a bit friendlier.
Good priced meat, even when open late night. The beef was good. They have all variety is snacks and even (somewhat) authentic Afghan smacks like cookies and some energy drinks. Cool customer service.
This is my first time to try out Afghan Food, I had an image of what to expect.
The goat meat is slow cooked and it was delicious. The samosa was average nothing special.
The atmosphere is laid back but the food is excellent that what matters.
This place has been in my top 10 for awhile now. Their Friday Saturday Sunday lunch buffet is great!! Try to come on a Friday though if you can 😉
Post pandemic, I don't know if they still have their buffet. But their food is always great. My go-to is their quabli polao and chicken karahi. Fantastic. The eggplant dish is good too. The kahwa drink is awesome for digestion. I will continue to bring my family and friends here!
