We have come to Roost a handful of times and it is usually a mixed bag. One of my favorite things about Roost is that the menu changes frequently so you can come back often and never be bored. One of my least favorite things is that when you order red wine is room temperature to a little bit warm. On our most recent visit, we came on a Friday night for a date. The service is always very friendly and we were seated right away. I started with a salad and had chicken while my partner had the cauliflower and the duck confit. The foot was very good, but my only caveat is that I asked for my salad to be lightly dressed and despite assuring me that the salad came with very light minimal dressing it was positively swimming in vinaigrette. Lesson learned, I will just order it on the side next time. Outside of that we had a lovely dinner and am always happy to have this restaurant in the neighborhood.

Upon advice my my daughter who’s a server in NYC, we decided to try this restaurant that we’ve been talking about for years. We found it quaint and inviting. It’s a small restaurant with a good vibe. The staff was very welcoming and friendly. We had some nice wine and a good bread service that was a pretzel with some great toppings. I ordered a blackberry salad which was very good, My wife ordered the artichoke bisque which was wonderful . I had a good filet and my wife had good gnocchi. We drove 20 miles through a thunderstorm from our house to get here and it was worth it. We recommend it highly

Bread service is great, especially the truffle butter. Loved the artichokes. They were so tender!

Came here for a birthday date. We wanted something not so crowded, more intimate and this place was perfect! The food was amazing, we really enjoyed the octopus & the fried cauliflower. The bread service was so unexpectedly delicious, I mean bread is great but this bread with the different butters and cheese was so flavorful! Sadly we didn't get dessert because they were about to close & we felt bad asking for some so late but the coffee and donuts were really tasty according to our table neighbors. Next time, we'll make sure we try it!

My partner and I came here to celebrate a birthday. The atmosphere is cozy and the service was pretty okay. We tried several dishes: fried cauliflower, pickled vegetables, oysters Rockefeller, Brussels sprouts, shrimp and grits, duck two ways, and donuts and coffee. The shrimp and grits, Brussels sprouts, and oysters were phenomenal, and everything else was good too. Although this restaurant isn’t at the top of my list, I do plan to return!

I made reservations for a party of 7 and our table was ready for us when we arrived. We had the bread for an appetizer based on other reviews and it did not disappoint. The butters were very good. Some family members had the chicken and loved it. Some had the fish and liked it as well. I had the ribs which were excellent. Flavorful and meaty. I also had the Thai curry shrimp grits. The grits were so creamy. The curry was well done. I had the pear and ice cream dessert and it was great. The pears were a little tougher than I wanted but would still order again. The whipped cream was very good too. The service started off choppy with it taking a while for us to put in our drink orders and food orders and needing refills for a while but it eventually got much better.

A most amazing small restaurant with absolutely delicious food. My colleague took us to this place for dinner and our party of 4 really enjoyed the fish and eggplant dishes. We took the advise of server and ordered the large pretzel shaped bread with most sumptuous butter cream and the fried cauliflower. The donuts ice cream reminded me of my grandmothers cooking. Really nice experience.

Amazingly fantastic! great assortment of wines. On our date, we enjoyed the chef's taster before our three-course meal! Amazing polenta and cauliflower fritters. For meals, the chicken n' dumplings dish was the greatest I've ever eaten, and the steak was sumptuous! While we are still waiting for dessert, we had to award this restaurant 5 stars. Will undoubtedly return for the changing menu!

Truly amazing!! Great wine selection. We went for a date night and got the chef’s tasting for a 3 course meal! Amazing fried cauliflower and polenta fritters. For entrees, the steak was decadent and the chicken n dumplings dish was the best I’ve had! Currently waiting for dessert but already had to give this place 5 stars. Will definitely be back for the rotating menu!!

Always one of my favorite spots when I come back home. I love that the menu changes regularly so I get to try something new each time. Just had the pork chop this time and it was amazing. But honestly, never gone wrong with anything I’ve had there. The chefs great too. A couple of the times he’s come out and chatted us up. Makes for a nice atmosphere.
