The servers, the busboys, the hostess, the cooks, EVERYONE here is amazing, and the food?! SPECTACULAR! I am sad that they are closing. We really enjoyed our moments there. It was a nice neighborhood restaurant. We visited regularly and our our serves even knew our names and always had a great smile to share! We will miss their bread, it was the best we ever had! They had the best pizza. My favorite dish there: the rabbit enchiladas and their big fat brownie. There's no picture of either bc as soon as they brought those they were gone!
BYOB! The corking fee wasn't super expensive (I had too much wine to remember the exact $) and I don't think they ended up charging us for all the bottles!
We came on a Tuesday night and this place was packed! I was completely impressed. The food portions were generous and not over priced and were tasty. I got the Angel Hair Diavolo which was full with shrimp and mussels. It probably had a bit too heavy on the olives for my taste. Some of my friends shared pizzas which they ate up. Needlessly to say, there were no leftovers.
I'd definitely recommend this place, it's wonderful for a relaxing evening with friends. We sat there for hours and didn't' feel rushed at all.
Oh, and a major plus, our waters were always full!
La Vista - is one of the most consistently yummy restaurants in Houston - hints why its been around for 17 years! It's perfect for a girls night out, private party in the backroom/special occasion or a romantic first date. The environment is cozy and funky (great photography). The food is amazing - filling Italian classics with a touch of Greg (the chef) to spice it up! Personal favorites - ravioli with the creamy vodka sauce, chicken piccata (when they have it on special), big fat chicken breast (go-to for my boyfriend), Pollo pizza, and tomato caprese (if you're trying to be healthy)!
There's a new menu and it's wonderful! Greg Gordon hits another home run. I drive 30 miles to eat here and I'd probably ride my bike if I had to.
This is the one place in town I can bring friends and family and never have to worry about the quality of the food and service. It's stellar each and every time.
This place is lovely. I came to eat out by myself (I felt fancy) and Yelp took me here. Its busy on a Saturday night, but not so busy that I wasn't seated immediately. Gino (I think that's his name. I'm terrible with them, but the receipt says Gino) shared the soecials. I chose the wine special (i completely forgot the name, but it had a hint of peppermint at the end of the taste) and bruschetta to start. Both were absolutely delicious.
Like I mentioned earlier it was quite busy with two large parties, but the service was still fast enough that I didn't get impatient and slow enough I didn't feel rushed. Gino told me he hasld another big order to put in but he wanted to put mine in first. A move that made me really appreciate the service here.
I ordered the Papardelle. At first I was confused at the portion size since everything else seemed to be such big portions, but I quickly learned why. The flavor was immense, and I couldn't even finish it.
I did however have to try the Tiramisu (my favorite dessert). I ordered was the dessert and it was much larger than I had anticipated. Again it was overflowing with flavor, but I couldn't fit anymore (although Gino jokingly offered to help me eat half). Once I was finished with my three bites, Gino took the cue from across the room and asked if I would like a box.
I'm currently just waiting to give him my card to pay. I so enjoyed the service and the food. Its not something I can afford every week, but it's a great place for special occasions. The atmosphere is amazing. The service is amazing. The good is amazing. La Vista is amazing.
Greg Gordon cooks up some of the most delicious food I've ever had. His original recipes will take your taste buds to the next level. La Vista has been serving up delicious food for 19 years, and it's definitely worthy of a visit. Enjoy!
Love it. Come to LA Vista for many years. We bring our wine and sit outside. It reminds me of European restaurants in Italy or Spain. It is cozy and fun. Food is good , service is friendly and price is right what else do you want ?
La Vista is fabulous! My husband and I go there and enjoy date nights and sometimes even date lunches. They can get busy and so there may be a wait, but it is always worth it. I love their salads and sweet potato fries.
This place is the best. Our favorite pizza in Houston. Everything we've ever ordered has been fantastic.
Great food. Love the tuna burger. Nice, quiet place to sit outside.
Love coming here with the family. Fast and cute place. Nice meals and big servings.
PIZZA! Call 20 minutes before you want to pick it up. Not cheap, but worth every penny.
Great salads, fresh food, clean foodie spot.
