I've gone to several ramen joints around Houston & this one can hang with them just fine.
The ramen (Spicy Ramen) broth is great, flavorful, thick, & seasoned well. Ramen noodles are very well done & the serving is approximately sized portion to the bowl, cashu pork is well seasoned, (my preference, don't like unmarinated cashu) this actually is why is beats out other locations I have visited.
Beef Takaki was very well executed though I don't usually order beef sashimi, it was a good cut with good flavor.
Mini Cashu Bowl, is just that, a small fried rice in a bowl which was also well done with a coddled/poached egg. I like egg yolk on rice so this is a win to me. Great for the lil ones too.
Mentai Mayo Fried Chicken & Oroshi Ponzu Fried Chicken are amazing appetizers & are some of my fave to order along with a bowl of ramen.
I've been here three separate occasions, & service was always prompt & courteous. Great energy from the wait staff & kitchen staff as they greet, thank & say good bye in Japanese to their costumers.
If you're looking for great ramen & don't feel like driving into mid-town or waiting in long lines in Bellaire this place is perfect for ramen aficionados.
Pricey but worth the authentic and best ramen by far around Houston. Nice ambiance with good customer service. I ordered veggie ramen which has a good on-spot-kick flavor. I highly recommend this bar and will have ramen feast here again soon ❤️👍🍲
This is really good ramen. I think this has taken 1st place for Houston Ramen in my opinion. I got the spicy ramen. I usually have to add more seasoning or spice, but I didn't have to add anything more here. The broth is perfect with lots of flavor and depth. It has a slight creaminess that's not overly powering that it makes you want more. The meat is tender and beautifully cooked along the edges. Noodles were perfect..not too soft or hard.. but a slight bite to it. This will be my go to ramen place now.
Not only beautiful but Delicious!!! A great ramen joint in west Houston, small but charming environment and a really nice staff. Everyone is greeted and thanked in Japanese, but don't fear they speak English. There's a different menu for lunches (shorter menu) and dinner / weekend (more entrees and appetizers). Ate lunch with a coworker, got in and out no problem. We both got a combo plate with ramen(spicy for me) and a side of the fried chicken. It's a LOT of food together! I had leftovers but you can get extra noodles for just a couple bucks.
Our favorite ramen place in the city! Food is always excellent and service is spot on every time. I have yet to order a dish that I didn’t like.
I heard a lot of great things about this place so at first I was kind of skeptical since people have a tendency to hype a lot of things. However it did not disappoint , the ramen serving size was a perfect amount not too much or not too little . The employees were also great, everyone with a smile and even better attitudes. Definitely lived to the hype .
I've been twice in two days. I'm hooked. Had the normal and spicy tonkatsu. Broth is amazing, and addins are in good portions. Fried chicken is great too! Service is on point, and feels authentic without being overwhelming. New favorite ramen place!
Amazing. So good. The ramen and spicy ramen with egg was delicious and full of flavor. Nice decor too
I randomly stumbled across Ramen Bar ichi when having my hair done last week. This was my first ramen experience and it was absolutely amazing! The broth was full of flavor, noodles were the perfect texture, and all of the other ingredients were high quality. I will definitely be returning again.
とても美味しいです。ヒューストンで食べられることに感謝です♪
This ramen tastes very good! !
I’m grateful that I can eat this in Houston.
Everytime I go there, the food is great and service is fast. Since it tends to get crowded around lunch, I try to go little later like 1pm..ish.
Love their ramen and charshu bowl. Only wish I have is to see them including miso ramen and gyoza. That would be awesome!
The best Ramen in Houston in my opinion 🤓🤓🤤🤤🤤🤤
I was worried about the waiting but there wasn't any wait. I went in a group of 3 at 1:30pm. I ordered the spicy ramen with extra pork chashu. It was delicious. I even ordered the mini chashu rice bowl and omg it was delicious too. I'm totally coming back with my family next time.
This place is a little hidden gem. If you’re looking for a real and authentic ramen, this is the place.
Our favorite is spicy tonkotsu ramen with egg, also they have fire ball, both are really good.
Also you can find many options of Japanese beers and food.
The place is not to big but has enough space among the tables.
This is one of our favourite ramen place. It is always crowded and there’s always a queue during the peak hours. Despite so, the service is fast and the wait staffs are attentive to us.
Chicken Karaage 5/5 I order this all the time. I like that they also add some edamame, greens, cherry tomatoes and oranges. The chicken can be over-fried a little bit sometime.
Shrimp Kakiage Mini Rice Bowl 4/5 It’s a little oily as you can see in the picture but it’s still tasty and I like that they pair it with pickled vegetable 👌🏻
Spicy Pollo Loco 5/5 Unique and yummy 😋Note that they give plenty of noodles!
Tonkatsu Ramen 5/5 Same great option!
Vegetarian Ramen 4/5 I like it but it is a little oily. I wish they give more capsicum cubes please!
Will be adding this ramen place to my list of recommendations! The broth has just the right amount of flavor, was kind of skeptical of trying their takoyaki because some of the reviews but it was pretty good! Would recommend trying their online ordering method.
The spicy tonkotsu was good! Got the spice on the side so could adjust spice levels. Would recommend the spicy tonkotsu. The tsukemen was very meh. Not very flavorful and the dipping sauce was pretty watery. Would not recommend.
The interior atmosphere is nice and service was ok. Worth trying out! Menu has plenty to explore.
Food was very delicious! Service was quick. Highly recommend eating here if you’re in the area.
The broth was amazing, very flavorful on both ramen dishes! Toppings were generous, pricing was fair, and the older lady who helped us was very kind. Overall, a great first experience here and would recommend if you want tasty ramen!
I came here not really wanting to eat ramen but I love noodles so I ordered the Spinach Ramen Salad and oh my goodness, so glad I did. It was very tasty!! The noodles were perfect, the chicken flavorful, and the sauce was delish! It also comes with half an egg. If you love ramen but need something refreshing with noodles, this is a must try.
Good noodles and overall great restaurant. There was only one menu that was placed at the ordering desk and you could choose from it. The orders arrived fairly quickly and the store is fairly small in size. The noodles were displayed in an aesthetic way and tasted nice. They are likely in connection with the Seiwa Market next door because many of their items are similar.
Ramen had good flavor, egg for $2.5 is a bit pricey, and half the pork was the most delicious pork I've ever had, the other half was dry and chewy :c If the dry pork was just a fluke, I'd say 5/5 ramen. Service was a bit slow, but we had a big table so probably due to that. Place had nice decoration and vibe
Best ramen I’ve ever had! The tonkotsu broth had an insane amount of flavor and mouth feel. You could tell it was probably simmered for a day or two. The restaurant itself was really nice, felt like a real ramen bar (to the best of my knowledge). The ladies who waited on us were really sweet and even told us of a sister restaurant in San Antonio which we’ll definitely be trying!
I personally think $13 is not overpriced considering all the work, time, and effort that goes into making ramen. Google the process for making it: simmering the bones/broth for hours/days, making the chashu pork, making the homemade spicy paste, slicing the veggies, soft boiling eggs, having true alkaline ramen noodles that are cooked perfectly. $13 is not too expensive at all considering everything involved. Try making it at home and you’ll see what I mean.
Definitely recommend this place for fantastic ramen in Houston!
5/5 great ramen spot. Ramen menu is short but simple the better. Couple of chicken and vegetarian broth options which is usually hard to find at good ramen spots.
We had Spicy Tonkotsu Ramen & Fried Calamari today. Both dishes are UBER delicious and flavorful as always. Calamari (squid legs) is relatively big & chewy. It also comes with a few edamame and tomatoes on the side.
I also would like to compliment their staff. They are very friendly with passion.
It is certainly a "Must-Go-Back" Ramen restaurant in Houston.
THE BEST RAMEN! Good prices! ☺️
This is my favorite ramen house!! The OG tonkotsu ramen is what I always get. The noodle is so good! The broth is fireee!! I seriously can’t get over how good it is! lol
The calamari was also amazing! Perfectly cooked, not chewy at all (if you know, you know)
This is probably one of the 3 places that could get calamari right!
They always have a line since the place is relatively small. DO NOT FORGET to write your name on the wait list usually hanged by the door, they tend to customers based on that list. They have limited seating and maybe understaffed. You would need to constantly call the waiter because they are always overwhelmed with customers. But, one thing is for sure, they always get your orders right! And you will never leave disappointed!
