Anyone can pile extras on a hamburger patty, but Blake's starts with a very tasty burger that could stand alone without extras. Yummy good.
I tried the delivery option, but it was too much to ask for the food to be really good after a 20-30 minute transit time, especially the fries.
So, I'll always make the drive and get my meal hot off the grill.
Bacon cheeseburger and chopped beef sandwich was on point. Ribs fell off the bone and so did the chicken (tender and juicy) my daughter also loved the sweet potato pie!! We'll definitely be back.
They have great loaded bake potato wit brisket and sausage link sandwich and there deserts are great . Fast service and friendly staff

The Owner is the nicest guy you can meet. The staff was excellent. That cheeseburger is in my top 5 of all time. Mr. Blake is really doin it right.
First time there and we loved it! Great service, food and prices were good too. Got to talk to the owner who seems very down to earth. We will be back for sure.
Best burgers in Houston. The lemonade is off the chain and there selection of cakes are to die for.
Blake's been around since I was a kid , now I bring my kids here. Great food and friendly staff. Desserts are to die for..
A lot of reviews said 5 stars. After eating there, I have to say the same! I had the Bacon Cheeseburger and fries. Very good and juicy and hot fries. Staff was very friendly. All around great experience. If I'm in Houston again, its on my list as a go to place.
Excellent food 🥘 feet place to eat!!! I suggest you eat any Blake's BBQ & Bugers
The food and desserts are fantastic! The best hamburgars in Houston. Mr. Blake is one of the kindest people I know!
A client sent me to try the place out, after asking 3 times if I had been I said today is the day...I have been missing out on a secret treasure. Give this place a drop in. Bruce was especially friendly, Blake knows what he is doing and the rest of the staff are great guys! Great food.
I must say “” Thanks Rolanda for introducing me to this spot!!
Mr Blake is my husband and he has the best food in Houston

Let’s gooo!! Great hole in the wall restaurant if you want REAL GREAT FOOD.
Recommend the dirty rice & Mac and cheese it was sooo good. Hamburger and fries seasoned greatly. Definitely will be returning and inviting others to this restaurant
This place is great. The burger was bomb, delicious, and juicy. I also got the onion rings and lemonade which were so good. It reminded me of an old school burger joint. I can't wait to try the rest of the menu. I look forward to going back.
I literally asked to shake the man's hand who made our food at Blake's. This is the type of place you talk about for days after leaving, and can't wait to return to on future trips. I found it on Yelp since we were staying nearby and looking for some good Texas BBQ--the fact that it wasn't a chain appealed to us, and we knew when we drove up it had the potential to be amazing. The atmosphere is that of an establishment that hasn't changed a great deal in 30 years, and that only adds to its charm.
We ordered both cheeseburgers and BBQ since we couldn't decide which to try. Can I just say that they were both equally amazing, and we couldn't stuff our faces fast enough. The burgers were clearly hand-formed and pressed, charred to perfection, with a soft, perfect bun. The BBQ meats (pork, sausage, and brisket) were fork-tender and the sauce was delicious. Sides of green beans and potato salad were also great, with the kids' fries being the only non-stand-out.
After we finished our meal, the lady came over and asked the kids if they wanted some homemade ice cream--DUH!! The husband and I split the Italian Cream cake, which tasted like someone's grandmother had made it.
I can't rave enough about this spot--reminded me of why Yelp is so amazing since we probably would have driven by it otherwise:)
Favorite BBQ joint in Houston besides my dad's back yard. Always greeted with a smile and good attitude, and the food is on point. I've recently been going for the gumbo and boudain plus whatever meat I'm in the mood for. Never been disappointed in the eats or the service, not to mention there's not usually a wait.
OMG, this place is an hiden gem. The best old fashioned homemade burgers in houston. It's black owned so don't waste your money somewhere else. Like whatabuger is a 3 star rating compared to Blake's. The other places are not even close. I definitely recommend you try there burgers. You will not be disappointed. Next, i will try the barbecue. I will let you guys know how the rest of the food tastes as i keep going back. 😋
The owners are wonderful, the food is delicious, the restaurant is always clean and homey. I'm impressed. This is my second time visiting and I brought a family member this time. Next time I go back I'll have to try their burgers since everybody raves about them! I highly highly recommend this place. Locally owned, DELICIOUS food!
Close to where I stay so location is great. I got a double cheese burger, fries and a loaded baked Potatoe.
The burger was good but nothing stood out about it. Fries were $4 but you dont really get 4$ worth in my opinion. The baked potatoe was pretty good and fulfilling. I do like the history of the place and to see it's been around for so long. It does have a "small town at home " feeling which I like. I'll be going back again to try other menu options
Ordered the 3 meats dinner had ribs, brisket, sausage links then 2 sides mac n cheese and pork and beans. The whole meal was great, probably wouldn't get the links again just wasn't my type of flavor. Everyone is very kind and funny. Definitely give this spot a try if you want some good BBQ.
Great food and amazing southern hospitality. Needed a weekend fix of comfort food and happy to have stumbled on this place. The gentleman at the window was friendly and courteous… he made me feel like a long time customer even though it was my first visit. I’ll definitely go again when I need some good food! Highly recommended!
It is confirmed, Mary Lou Retton lived in Westeheimer. There is photographic proof at this Blake's! They recommend having the burger if it is your 1st time and on your 2nd trip a Po Boy might be necessary.
Craved BBQ while in the area so came here to get a baked potato with beef. The drive-thru was convenient and the service was friendly and fast. As for the food, their BBQ sauce is a bit spicier than I like but otherwise it was really good comfort food.
So I went to Piney Point Elementary. I also went to Robert E. Lee Sr High, both schools are just minutes away from Blakes. I've been eating here for decades literally. My grandmother, Hattie Sparks, even approved of the Sock-It-To-Me cake receipe, saying it was almost as good as hers. I'm a chopped beef sandwich kinda guy, I also love the sausage, and the bbq sauce. It's really just all around great eating, packed with it's on personal touch of history and hospitality. Go get some and take someone with you.
When I’m always in town I have to stop by this place. Great customer service food is great. The beverage unsweet tea and lemonade is off the charts. Recommend anyone to stop by and try.
One of the best burgers in town, it's like going back in time to when everything was fresh and delicious! Can't say enough nice things about this family run Houston landmark. Great fries and exceptional onion rings, this was my mom's favorite burger joint. The BBQ is pretty darn good too, everyone loves Blake's. Today's bacon cheeseburger was juicy, flavorful and a wonderful walk down memory lane to the Texas of my youth.
Blakes catered for my company Burns McDonnell not to long ago. the food was great as always and I actually spoke to the top dog myself. I have been a customer for quite some time and your burgers are the best along with other specialties. I am saddened at the idea that you may be hanging it up soon but understand. I wish you the best and plan on visiting soon while I have a chance. wonderful owner and an H-Town legend.
Great burger, friendly staff, and clean. The food was pretty fast to get to the table making it a great place for lunch.
I have loved this place for over 20 yrs......I don't care how long it has been since going qhen ever I do see Mr Blake he always recognizes and makes it hus business to speak and let me know he has not seen me in awhile.....I was shocked and rather disappointed the other day.....could not wait 2 get off work and fight that five o'clock traffic only 2 get way across town only 2 discover their new hours......they now close at 6 and I was 10 minutes past 6 and sick 😫 I wanted my burger and the best lemonade so bad. Heartbroken is an understatement.......but because I love him and his establishment......beat staff ever.....I'll be back....
This place defenetly did live up to the hype as one of the best burgers. I will be sure to come back again next time I'm in town.
