The carne asada and carnitas tacos are delicious! The desebrada tacos are a little too spicy for my taste. The green salsa is very good but spicy so be careful when adding! The corn I would not get again, for some reason I did not like them the taste was a little odd for me. The horchata was pretty descent, can’t tell if it’s natural or not.
I will repeat these tacos are delicious and worth trying!
I got three Street tacos and the elote. Food is excellent. Very spicy, which I love. My only gripe is the portion size for the price. I probably won't intentionally return here for that reason, but they do have great food and wonderful service. 👍
I visited Houston for almost a week, and the person I was with LOVES Tacos and wanted some for Taco Tuesday. We Googled and found this place in Downtown Houston, which had AMAZING REVIEWS.
WE SEE WHY!!!
The food here is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!!! So much so, that we had to run that back one more time before we left town (This is the only restaurant we visited twice while we were there, by the way). The first time we went, I got the Asada and birria street tacos, with some fixins. They tasted great, but be mindful that the birria broth was super spicy (the kind of spice that sneaks up on you), so make sure you can handle the spice if you order it. I didn't use it because they tasted fine without it. The REAL TREAT, however, was the CHICKEN. My friend got the Chicken tacos and let me taste one... and bay-bee when I say I was sad that I didn't choose the chicken first... I was dismayed!
So when we went back on our last night in town, I got the chicken gringo Tacos, and they did not disappoint! The line was long the second time we came and it moved kinda slowly (but not too slowly), but that was because they are cooking everything FRESH. They are grilling chicken, chopping it, and then placing it on the line. We can SEE them toasting the tortillas before putting them on the plates, etc. Also, the workers were really friendly!
In short... if you need a sign to go visit this taco joint, THIS IS IT!!! They were amazing, and the whole restaurant was real chill and laid back. I loved it.
EXPLOSION 💥 OF FLAVORS!!
Wow! Stop here after an Astros game. Had the gringo tacos, you choose your meat and the toppings. I had chicken, carnitas and Birra tacos! Excellent 😋 however I was NOT expecting the consomé to be that spicy 🌶️ 🥵 so if you don’t like spicy foods don’t dip your taco in it.
Great service, there was no wait on a Sat night price was $30 for my plate plus a drink.
Great atmosphere and great service.
Food is great but quite pricey in my opinion. $17 for an average size torta is just too much for me. Nonetheless everyone was friendly and helpful. Plenty of seating available and a cool looking place. Of course parking is tricky since it's downtown unless you pay or are able to find street parking.
Had an awesome dinner at La Calle Tacos today! Food is so good and fresh!
Service was awesome! Thank you Javier for taking care of us we appreciate it!

Perfect option for after party tacos!!! 🌮 They are open until late night… delicious ingredients, good meats (birria and asada were the top choices for me) and condiments (just ask before for the sauces, some of them could result a bit spicy if you are not used to them). The street corn on the cup, simply outrageous, Next level flavor with the corn infused in Poblano pepper juice!! 🤤🌽
And, of course, a large selection of ice cold beers! 🍻😍
10/10 Place!! No doubt!!
Great location, by downtown. First time here since Im from out of town and I loved it. Love the vibes, how authentic the inside of the restaurant is. The menu was real easy to read and meals to choose from. The tacos were delicious. Staff were nice and friendly when ordering food. Went over to the bar side for a few drinks and had a great service from the bartender named Poncho. Definitely recommend, will return whenever I’m back in town.
La Calle is a DT HOU fave of mine. The street style tacos and drinks are always on point. I never even remember what I order bc I always scarf it down so fast! Don't miss their micheladas either!
best tacos i've had yet. they come 5 in an order and you can actually pick different meats for each one.

This is one of those places where if you land here by whatever reason, you can't go wrong. Tacos, although simple if they don't have the right taste, you don't enjoy them as much. This place has some legit good tacos. I had the tacos chilangos just as they were on the menu and all were delicious. The mango margarita was just perfect, and 2 did it for me. The street corn was good, unique but good. Consome a bit on the spicy side, but a good taco is always better with some spice. The salsas we got with the tacos were also really good. My overall experience was great, super friendly staff, and if I wanted tacos again, I'd go back to La Calle.
Tacos are ok, shrimp ceviche was really good actually. Be careful with the salsas, they can be really hot. The street corn was a great option although a little overpriced. Cantina next door is a great place to have a couple of drinks and tacos. The fact that this establishment closes at 2 am makes it really packed at night
Javier Suarez saw our indecisive looks helped us review the menu items while we waited in line. Excellent service! My wife loves tacos anywhere but I am more of a picky eater. I loved the taste and the tortillas were the right size for the food ratio. Best pastor I have eaten in recent years, and elote in a cup to seal the deal. La unica foto que tome porque los tacos ya me los chingue. 😂
Im from Mexico City and found this opción walking by Downtown with 100% mexican food (tacos). This are real tacos and tortas, the salsas are as good as Mexico's. Didn't missed mexican street tacos. Congratulations such a great place and great attention by Javier Suarez
So yesterday while being in Downtown Houston I stopped at one of my favorites La Calle Tacos. I don't get their to often so I make it count. I ordered tres Tacos, uno de Pastor, de Ceviche de Camaron y de Carnitas with a little beans on each. Added Pico de Gallo and a little Chicharon. Damn they forgot the kitchen sink. Ha! Ha! Yeah a side of Beria sauce too. Delicious. I highly recommend them. 😋🌮🌮🌮😋
