Favorite poke spot in Houston. The owner and staff are very friendly. The hot Cheetos burritos were filling and the complimentary miso soup was delicious! Clean restaurant too :)
Tried this poke place (takeout). Really tasty and fresh. The portion size was good and the fish was good quality. I made my own bowl. Will def go back.
I’ve been to this place too many times to count. The owner is super friendly and he’s actually from Hawaii so if you want authenticity this is the place. All of the seafood and veggies are very fresh and the flavors or their sauces are on point. It’s a casual spot for a lunch bowl or even a quick stop to pick up a musubi on the run, and if you don’t know what one of those is, thank me later. Has a clean and modern feel when you walk in. I stop by once a week or so when I’m in midtown.
I eat here multiple times a month. One of my favorites! I build my own bowl with tofu. There are so many toppings and sauces to chose from. Staff is friendly and polite. Highly recommend.
Upon entering the wavy white walls entice you towards the back. If you look left, You stop at a window that overlooks into the kitchen. To the right of the window, a full selection of everything poke related you could want!
I started with a signature bowl, I opted for the spicy tuna with spicy sauce. The absolute move is to ask for the peppered tuna! I’ve never had poke so good. The tuna was very fresh!
My friends mentioned the fish is always fresh and tastes clean. I was even surprised to see they had seaweed salad, (which was a great addition to my bowl) tasted great!
The staff was very friendly and affable. They took the time to help with first time indecisiveness. Great attitude, very engaging with customers.
The space itself is amazing. Very clean Modern setup cool lights and textured walls. Loved the big wood table and chairs! The colored globe lights were a great touch.
I almost didn’t want to review this place because it is so awesome and I don’t want it to get super crowded but it is also too good of a place to not share.
I came here on a Sunday even with two of my friends. This was our first time here and a little overwhelmed with all the choices. We asked so many questions and I know that the staff probably was annoyed but they were so nice and answered all our questions thoroughly with a smile on their face.
The concept is similar to chipotle if you want to get a bowl (with a twist: you can choose one of their own speciality bowl creations as well). For the bowls, you can choose white rice, bamboo rice (a green rice that gets the chlorophyll from the bamboo) and volcano rice (multigrain, healthy version). I got the volcano rice and my friend got the bamboo rice - which was amazing! It had a really unique herb-y taste and I am definitely getting it next time. Then you have your options of protein (tuna, salmon, yellowtail and shrimp). They also have tofu for a vegan option. You can also choose different portions of the protein. Then they have all the toppings - vegetables, tobiko (HIGHLY recommend the citrus), crab, seaweed salad, sauces. I got the Truffle Tuna (one of their premade recipes) but ended up switching it out for salmon and shrimp. The truffle was AWESOME and complimented the fish amazingly. They also have pokirito (sushi burrito). We shared one (Maui) which was good too.
On top of all the food we got (btw: their regular is a good size portion), we still had room for their mochi ice cream. We got the lychee colada, raspberry with white chocolate crunch, pistachio, hazelnut crunch, matcha green tea and Thai iced tea. My absolute favorite was the raspberry. The lychee colada and matcha were subtle and probably the least flavorful.
I am so excited to have found this place (and also close to my house)! They have good options for people who like seafood and also vegan options. One of the cons was parking - we had no problem with street but I don’t know about busier times. Looking forward to trying new stuff!
It was fishy! Just kidding, it was very good. They offer a lot of the typical side options as included in the price like seaweed salad and nori. They also have a lot of relatively unique add ons, like habenero fish eggs, several different chili peppers, and a truffle soy sauce (though I strongly recommend asking to try a sauce before committing to it). Two very unique things are their volcano rice and bamboo rice, both of which add different flavors to the bowl. The pricing was pretty standard for poke. In addition to the usual bowl, they also offer poke burritos, a selection of fried spam, and a large assortment of different mochi flavors. The staff was friendly, and the space was huge and clean. Overall, I liked my experience and would come back again, especially since there aren't really any poke places in that immediate area.
A solid poke place with tasty/unique topping and sauce options and great service. I got a midtown pokirrito with truffle soy and citrus yuzu sauce. Free miso soup! You can park in the garage next door and get your ticket validated.
The place is nice and clean, fish and other ingredients are really fresh, great variety. They closed self serving miso soup station due to covid, hopefully they'll bring that back soon. My whole family loves this restaurant!
Absolutely my favorite poke place in Houston! Make the drive you will not regret it. Their poke topping bar is like going to a ice cream parlor. Must try!
