Mongolian Beef, Mapo Tofu and Dry fried beans are some of our favorites from this restaurant. Flavor is always good. Meat is tender. Try the Crystal Jelly dessert, my fave dessert there.

This is the literal description of a “HIDDEN GEM!” This restaurant in the heart of Medical Center in Houston is so good! When you drive by it can be easy to miss, so don’t blink! The staff is so nice and attentive, I love the fact they give you the story of the food the make there, they even tell you what part of Asia this food comes and why is a little spicy. Its cute in the inside and the also sell alcohol. But let’s talk about the food, first of all the dishes are family size, and the make every dish right, with enough veggies or protein . Oh! And they bring a huge bowl of steamed rice for your food! We ordered an appetizer that had cucumbers and a sweet sauce, little spicy but so delicious and fresh. And we also got the noodles and vegetables and the king pap chicken. Very very delicious!

Pretty authentic Chinese food in a nice decorated restaurant. Fried pork dumplings really good and crunchy. The noddles with beef chicken and shrimp were good but not the best and the black pepper beef really good (it comes with a lot of white rice). I will come back to try other things.

A wonderful find. This Sichuan place has many offerings at various heat levels but I ordered this super flavorful, very spicy dry fried pork. It had a lot of bird's eye chilies so I had to order a Thai tea to manage the heat. The waitresses were kind and helpful. The restaurant was neat, clean, and calming. I liked the atmosphere. I'll be back again.

I love cooking girl. One of the best places for Chinese food outside of Chinatown, IMO. This is the main location. The other one in Montrose is a bit smaller with reduced menu (but equally delicious btw). Perfect flavor / spicyness. After trying around 10 items in total - you can’t go wrong here. Plenty of parking outside and typically no reservation needed.

My husband and I have been looking for a go-to place, and to be our comfort food and restaurant. We are so lucky to have come across this place. We have been here three times now and will definitely be coming back again and again and again. When you enter the restaurant, its very homey. Staff are so amazing and super caring. We usually come in for a late dinner, and we will see the staff gather together in one table and will eat together before they close. That just such a wonderful workplace environment. Their food is amazing. I recommend Yellow stone pork, Szechuan beef , Bokchoy as well as Eggplant love Green bean (cute name right?). ✨ give it a try!

The owner was so amazing! I’m so thankful to have run into this beautiful place, and the owner is even more beautiful. The shrimp has the best season anyone could imagine. The vegetable rolls are amazing and fresh! I highly recommend this place for a good place to eat and relax! Although it’s in the medical center, it is quiet and a place to relax.

This restaurant has a good sized parking lot. Even though it was busy, we were seated right away. There was a comical mess up with our drinks. My wife ordered a hot tea. Our table got overlooked for a bit so 5 - 10min later, another server came by to ask us for our drink order. We told her what we'd ordered and she went to the bar to expedite it. The lady working the bar brought me my iced tea and a kettle for my wife's hot tea. Only problem was it was an empty tea pot. 😂 I was laughing too hard so my wife took it back up to the bar. The lady apologized and brought it back a few minutes later. My wife poured a cup and the liquid was perfectly clear, like water. We looked inside and there was hot water, but no tea. We were both laughing at this point. It was like something out of a TV comedy drama. The servers were really apologetic about it. They were really understaffed so I can't fault them too much. They were trying their best to keep up. The food was delicious. We got some dumplings to start since we were told the fish we ordered would take at least 30 minutes to prepare. They were actually pretty filling. For our mains, we got the cabbage and striped bass. Both were light and delicious. It was a whole fish so lots of bones to eat around. It had two peppers listed by it on the menu, but it seemed like most of the spice was in the sauce and didn't transfer to the fish itself. Overall, the food was good, and the service was acceptable. Hopefully they can get their staffing figured out so they can focus on the details.

Glad I found this little gem though it is down the street from another chinese restuant I like but it's not going to stop me from coming to this one. Cooking girl is more Sichuan style. The manu is a decent size and has something for everyone. I loved all the dishes we ordered but my favorite has to be tofu vs beef. The flavor was great and it was spicy but not overwhelming. I can't wait to come back and try other dishes. Definitely a recommend if you are looking for Sichuan food.

We tried cooking girl for the first time today. We got the pork belly and mashed garlic appetizer and it was amazing. It's spicy but full of flavor. For entrees I got orange chicken which was probably the best I've ever tried, my wife got hot and sour beef and it tasty as well. Everythung was kinda unique compared to other Asian dishes.

The Yellowstone Pork was the most amazing dish I've eaten in a while. The Ingenious Beef definitely a fantastic dish. Had the Pork belly appetizer very good. Red Dumplings so so tasty. I am excited to go back here.

This place is fantastic. I had the Mongolian beef and shared the wood ear mushroom appetizer with my gf. We each had the red iced tea. They bring you some fresh white rice to the table in the red croc bowl. The food tasted very authentic. Very happy with this meal will def be back when in the area again.

Super delish! I ordered the fried green beans and the general tso's chicken as well as the special fried rice. Everything was really good. I took one star off because service was slow. Our drinks took a bit too long to arrive at our table.

Delicious. Family style dining. I would put condiments on the tables like soy or sriracha but they will provide a small amount if you ask.

Had a birthday dinner with a large group here and the service was excellent! The fact that they accommodated our group (11 people) would have been enough but they also had quick and kind service with delicious food and went out of their way to give us some cupcakes! We ordered a variety of dishes - I had the eggplant loves green beans, steamed veggie dumplings, Homing tofu, walnut shrimp, and veggie noodles and everything was delicious. Really above and beyond - I will definitely be returning.

Really delicious and good portions. The Dan Dan noodles were good as was the Fish Taste Shrimp. 3 to 4 stars bc the waiters were so inattentive. Our waters were empty for half of the meal but they kept ignoring us. When it was time to pay, I had to a hard time flagging down a waiter. Maybe they need more staff since it's so popular? Parking is also very limited during peak but it's worth the wait.

Came here on Thanksgiving for lunch since it’s close to my friend’s house and she knew it would be open. We ordered a bunch of foods for 6 including red dumplings for appetizer, shared dishes come with white rice: spicy shrimp, stir fried noodle with beef, a plate of bok choy and honey coated duck. Red dumplings was kind of tasteless for me. Other dishes were delicious. My favorite is spicy shrimp. Bill came with 20% tip on it since we were a group of 6 and they had to work on Thanksgiving day while other restaurants were closed and they often check up on us to make sure everything was ok. I think that’s fair enough for me, except the waitress who brought water for us. She threw our straws in front of us instead of just putting them gently on the table. We were offended by that. That’s why minus 1 star. But overall everything was good!
