This place really hit the spot for my craving of dim sum. I really wanted a good steamed pork bun. The pork gyoza and shrimp balls were amazing. The egg rolls were crispy and fresh. I saw some other negative reviews on here and on yelp so I was apprehensive about trying this place but I'm glad we decided to give this place a shot. When I have a craving for good dim sum, I'll be sure to be back.
The food was perfect and reasonable. Best dimsum ever. One down side that the waiter need to pay attention on their clients more. Sometime we have to look for him. Would love to comeback.
The dim sum place of my childhood :) menu is mostly the same throughout the years and their stir fry is really good too. The fried dumplings and pork buns are heavy on the breading, less of the filling.
First time ever trying dim sum and came to this place as recommended by my friend. I have to say I absolutely enjoyed it, the atmosphere AND the food. I really loved the lotus leaf rice dumpling and the pan fried pork buns. Staff was also very polite! They have tons of options to choose from and all look delicious. This was a one time experience that I won't be forgetting any time soon ❤️
Honestly, I don’t think you could go wrong with anything on their menu. We started eating before I remembered to take pictures of everything. We ordered the fried rice, beef rice paper roll, fried bao, fried shrimp balls, crab shu mai, veggie buns, and the steamed shrimp har gao. Everything was full of flavor and had good portions of meat in them. Highly recommend!!
A true dim sum King - authentic, diverse selection, and value for money! Recommend these must-ordered trio (my favorite) — The shrimp dumpling is bouncy and chewy. The Siu-Mai flavourful and bouncy. Taro puff is perfectly done. Also come with a good selection of fried noodles and fried rice. A restaurant that has many dishes and can please every guest regardless of their diet preferences. Friendly, attentive, and speedy service. Make sure you sign up for their point rewards system. I believe $10 off after every $100 spend. A gem in Chinatown.
Delicious! The dumplings are well priced and tasty. Same with the noodles. It was crowded but not too packed and we had a great Sunday lunch.
EDIT 10/12/19 went again and still love this place! The fried pork puff is my favorite! the spring rolls have a sweet seasoning taste but good. the lo mein is fantastic and crispy! will keep coming back to this place!!!
This really hit the spot! I visited from Austin and already want to go back and have the food again! Everything was so good, only thing I noticed, we ordered pork steam buns, only got steam buns. They were still good, but really would have loved the pork in them. Everything we had was fantastic, and would recommend to anyone who wants some good dim sum! Can't wait to go back! Loved the egg rolls, pork dumplings, there was another pork bun might have been the fried one.. But man it was good! May have over done it by ordering alot, but was able to take home and still tasted good!
Great little hole in the wall dim sum place! We've been to Dim Sum King many times now, and every time the service and the food has been excellent! It rivals some of the big, more well-known dim sum places in Houston, but with less wait time and, dare I say, better dim sum! You bet! All the great dim sum staples can be found here but there is no cart service. Still, everything is prepared quickly and of high quality. For those less versed in Chinese, fear not, they have picture menus! Well worth the visit!
Probably the best dim sum I've had in the US, and I've had dim sum in NYC, Philly, Chicago. I also lived in Hong Kong for five years; this place bills itself as "HK style dim sum" and lives up to it--that is, it is comparable to what you'd get at a decent neighborhood dim sum place in HK (the best dim sum in the world, however, is not in HK but Guangzhou or maybe some fancy HK Michelin-star hotel restaurants), perhaps minus a few sauce options. But the selection was very authentic and much better than I expect at a US restaurant. The lotus leaf-wrapped glutinous rice with chicken was especially good, as was the radish cake with XO sauce. The sesame balls were tasty and fresh if a bit light on the red bean paste. The cheungfen filling could have been a bit "brighter" (more cilantro), but the sauce it was in was better than average--a bit of anise aroma.
Prices also excellent for eating out nowadays. Taking my family to sushi nowadays is easily $100, whereas we had leftovers to take home at around $50 here. Overall, couldn't ask for a lot more from a US dim sum establishment and will definitely be back.
Only gave service 4 stars because they seemed a bit understaffed. Food came out quick and fresh, just seemed like one guy handling the whole room and had to wave to get his attention... of course, that is also the authentic Hong Kong experience, so...
The food is amazing, but don't expect anything else as far as good service. They come and get your order ( that you write down) and they just pile on the dim sum. The dim sum is so good and reasonably priced, I don't need the service to be amazing. It's not bad, just not extra friendly. They feed you and you leave lol.
Very good dimsum at reasonable prices. Everything was fresh and tasty. Get the Jasmine hot tea to wash down the heavy food! The wait isn't long even for a Sunday morning. Service was fast!
