Love it. I LOVE this place. mel's great along with another lady who works for him, whom i dont actually know the name of. the donuts are good and the crouissant sandwhich is DELICIOUS. very convenient. i did actually change from shipley's on el dorado to riley's so...it's a deal breaker
If every teen on Clear Lake could work with Mel for a week, the world would be a better place. This man knows what customer service is all about!! (got a pretty good product too)
Great on the Way to Work. Great donuts, kolaches, and crissonts. the one thing i wish they had were better chocolate filled donuts! >.<
other than that its a great location for on the way to the freeway to work or school, very friendly and great service =]
Best Donuts in the Bay Area. Where the owner knows his customers by name, helps with school car washes and makes fantastic loaded Croissants (warmed if you like) ,old fashion donuts and more. Shun the corporate donut and get real Mom and Pop baked fresh goodies.
The donuts are great, the pricing is reasonable, and the service is fantastic. This place goes out of its way to support local youth groups, and always has a smile and a hello whenever I stop in.
Stopped in for the first time on a random Thursday to get me and my cleaning team some donuts & let me say....the service....it was amazing! I love some great friendly staff, especially in the morning. The donuts where good & the boudin kolaches where greatttt!

The owner, Mel, likes to keep local artists’ work up for sale, including my own. I’ve actually sold art out of Riley’s Donuts because of Mel’s help!
Hands down the best donuts I have ever eaten. I am from Southern California, which is where the standard is set for best donuts in the country. The glazed donuts are like putting a sugary pillow into your mouth. The apple fritter is the perfect blend of crunchy exterior, chewy/moist dough, and proper ratio of apple chunks.
Get the bacon egg and cheese croissant!!!

We love the donuts, kolache, and breakfast sandwiches here! If you are looking for classic donuts, but want more variety than Shipley’s- come here! Mel makes great donuts & is consistent in the quality. My current favorite are his breakfast biscuits- the biscuits are perfectly flaky and buttery with egg, cheese & a meat choice (bacon, ham or sausage). There are no wrong choices on this menu!
Swung by there and picked up some sausage and cheese kolaches along with a sausage, egg, and cheese croissant, service was quick and friendly, both kolaches and croissant were good, definitely recommended
Really, really good donuts. Smiling and friendly faces working at the counter. I'm shocked this donut shop doesn't generate more buzz because the donuts are excellent. Homemade honey buns, cake donuts, old fashioned & sour cream donuts, fritters, you name it. Definitely somewhere I will return again.
I love this place. Locally owned, they always know how to treat their customers. Every time I go in there I feel as though I could honestly be part of the family. Their donuts are by far my most favorite I have had. My children love their donut-holes, and their Kolaches are pretty awesome, too. If you want to support a local small business, definitely go here for breakfast!
I rather enjoyed my time at Riley's. I ordered two sausage cheese kolaches, a cup of coffee, and a donut. The donuts were a little unique and definitely fun to eat, but the kolaches made with croissants were what sold me. They were delicious, filling, and not something you could purchase elsewhere. The owner was very friendly and chatty with each of his customers, and he made me feel very welcome when I decided to dine in for an hour and a half. My bill was $9, which meets my expectations for having a meal out of the house, but was a little pricier than a typical donut shop. Was it worth the price? Absolutely. I couldn't even finish my donut because I felt so full already. The only reason I didn't give this place a five star was that while they did exceed my expectations with the food and friendliness, the atmosphere and prices were just meeting expectations. Overall, a very good experience and I would absolutely go again.
This place is amazing. Mel knows many of his customers by name and often has their order ready before they get to the counter. You can tell he loves serving customers even more than making wonderful donuts and kolaches.

Great doughnut shop. Coffee is good, they keep real half and half around and their kolaches are good. Mel the owner is super friendly and makes me feel very appreciated every time I come in. Would definitely recommend it.
I'm actually still in the parking lot losing my mind about how good this place is. Their jalapeno cheese koloches and glaze donuts are something to die for. The people who work here are some of the friendliest as well. One of my favorite places in all of Houston.
I grew up on Mel's donuts and kolaches. After leaving the Houston area for college and a career, I've never found a breakfast spot that can come close to Mel's.
It's nearly impossible to find anything resembling a Texas kolache outside of Texas, and donut shops with the sort of variety you can get here on the Texas gulf coast are rare.
And you won't find any other breakfast joint in the world that offers the enthusiasm and customer service that Mel does. The man deserves a Michelin star.
Unfortunately I rarely visit the Clear Lake area these days - but when I do, I stop by.
What an amazing variety of breakfast options! Breakfast croissants, breakfast tacos, breakfast biscuits, kolaches, donuts, muffins, cinnamon rolls, fritters, and danishes! They are ALL incredibly delicious but my favorites are the bacon, egg and cheese croissants and blueberry danishes! 😋 The owner and staff are very friendly and are strong community supporters! When I take Riley's into the office, my co-workers RAVE about how tasty everything is! Riley's breakfast is ALWAYS a hit! They also have every beverage option you would want (except maybe alcohol 😉). Riley's Donut shops are individually owned and carry different menus. I HIGHLY recommend the Clear Lake City Blvd Riley's Donuts shop! You will NOT be disappointed! (Said with a very full belly! 😂)
