It was my first time visiting this classic burger joint definitely will make the drive to enjoy this double cheeseburger and fries. I highly recommend doesn’t disappoint.
This place is really awesome. Super quick, very good service, and reasonably priced for damn good burgers and frito pie. You’d think a simple cheeseburger with the regular toppings would be pretty basic but somehow this burger just tastes….I guess like the perfect burger. 🤷🏼♂️ Especially for the price, it might be the best burger in town and that’s a serious claim. H town has lots of great burgers but the atmosphere of this roadside shack really takes you back in time (as do the prices). The woman who runs the joint is so sweet.
If you’re a burger enjoyer, Cream Burger is a must!
OVERALL: This is a no fuss/ frills spot. The meun is simple, food is good. Best affordable burger spot in Htx.
CONS:
Not enough sitting
Fans are needed while waiting.
PROS
Amazing sweet tea
Friendly staff
Black owned
I ordered the double cheese burger w sweet tea
First time trying this place. It's very to the point with the classics. Loved my whole order I see why they keep customers coming back for some good ol traditional burger no gimmicks for fancy ingredients just simple done right! Must have cash!
Historic burger restaurant.
They still make it the way they did back in the 60s.
Fries tasted fresh. You can tell they change their oil daily.
Burger was nice. It tastes like Whataburger but with fresher ingredients. Price is solid too.
If you aren't an onion fan, make sure to ask them to remove the onions. I love extra onions, yet I felt their normal amount of onions was overkill. Bun was a little stale around the edges on this visit, but the burger was overall a 6.5/10.
It’s a great late night place to grab a straightforward, classic American burger and more. It’s a small menu with classic options, and some good drink options too. I went with a standard large burger, some fries, and a sweet tea. Quality wise, it’s nothing overly special, but it’s pretty cheap and satisfying, if you’re craving it. I wouldn’t recommend the hotdog, and they use a lot of mustard for all their food. Not a lot of seating - a few tables, but it’s definitely a grab and go place. Overall, a good place to get some staple food.
First time here & I was pleased with everything! I ordered a small burger, fries & a vanilla shake. (They did go a little heavy on the mustard on the burger.) Prices are affordable, food tasted homemade & the shake was great. Quick, friendly service. As I'm always in the area, I will definitely be coming here more often.
Great grill top burgers and fries. Definitely an awesome spot when you are in the mood for a good, greasy, old school burger. Their prices are great, it's a must have in the neighborhood.
While this place may not look like much, it is one of the best burgers I have had. It's very home style, good food like your grandma is cooking. The staff is very sweet and happy to customize your order. They are a CASH ONLY establishment, so be sure to bring cash, but they are very affordable. Highly recommend getting a shake as they are creamy goodness and the perfect compliment to a burger and fries.
Really good, open late. Their prices are really reasonable, I see other people order the chili burgers I should have got that. They gave me a lot of ice cream, it was really nice.
This is one of the Bucket Lists best burger place and let me tell you this double meat chili cheeseburger was so delicious and the fries were amazing. Because of the pandemic there's no sitting allowed on the only 2 tables they have out front. They do have markings for standing while ordering to go so social distancing and wearing mask is required. And you don't wait long for your orders. The lady taking our order was very nice & friendly. Definitely will return and do recommend this place to everyone. Need to try it at least once. Great prices!
This place is CASH ONLY!!
The lady was nice and accurate regarding our order. We ordered the double burger with fries and a coke! Yummy! We later informed her that we truly enjoyed our food and will return again! We drove a long way and received excellent food! Thank you Cream Burger! Looking forward to our next visit!!
This place is legit. I got the chili burger with fries, and I do not regret it. I do try to eat healthy, but if you have a cheat day (food) and are in the area. Eat, enjoi, and be merry. Everything in moderating. I would have gotten a shake, but it was after UH beat west virginia, and I needed food after a couple of beers. There were other people there, and the vibe after the win was awesome. I made friends and shared stories with total strangers. It was the best.
FYI, I did not drive.
P.S. Next time, I am going to get a shake.
Great quality food for a heavenly price. The milkshake is thick, creamy, and delicious. The fountain drinks are fresh, fizzed, and ready to chug. Great tasting Frito pie for the angry kiddos. Awesome fresh cut and peeled homemade fries. World class double meat burger, not a fake institutionalized burger. It comes loaded like a Texas sizes pistol,to heavy too hold with 1 hand. Before you leave grab a ice cream cone👍👍.
Cash only, cash only. They make the food when you order it, so prepare to wait. Easy to find right off I-45.
I took cash because they don't accept anything else. I ordered a burger (everything on it), fries, and a root beer float. But I did not feed the panhandlers, as the signage demands. I sat at the concrete picnic tables and looked at the corner store across the street, two men loitering on the side, occasional kids driving by on bicycles. I saw women in scrubs and men in casual wear smoking Swishers as they waited their turn to order and get their number. Among the train horns, rattle of car speakers in traffic, and din of the kitchen, my number was called. I devoured my food, whispering prayers of gratitude for that place and that moment. I threw away the only thing left of my food, the paper wrappers. I talked with Ms. Greenwood about how the Third Ward is changing. New train, new walls, new apartments. But I also appreciated how much stayed the same: black-owned businesses serving the community, and real people eating real food to get rest from their real lives. The food is great, but the experience is profound. This is Houston.
University of Houston's own cream burger. The staff is super friendly and the burgers are big, tasty, and cheap. They don't compare to a fancier burger chain, but are half the cost with twice the kindness.
First off, where are you going to find delicious food at great prices? I'll wait. First time having Frito pie and I'm having leftovers of it now, with fries. The pineapple shake is delicious as well. Will definitely visit again when I'm in Houston.
