Casual interior with basic setups, their tables are nice, spacious, and fairly well kept. The ambience is pretty relaxed, there's usually a lack of customers so it's very quiet and calm throughout the day. Overall a decent place to eat, they have TVs as well.

--- Com Tam + 3 Sides ($8.95): 4/5 ---
Original com tam ($6.75) with some added sides, which were all pretty well made and tasty. The broken rice and egg were fairly well cooked, with the egg yolk still intact and able to gush onto the rice. Pork chop here is definitely better than most places, it's chewy, fragrant, and has a good balance between actual meat and fat. Overall a really good option if you want to try a quality Vietnamese meal.
--- Bo Luc Lac ($9.00): 4/5 ---
Incredibly delicious "Shaking Beef" dish! Most other restaurants don't come close in quality when it comes to this menu item. It's a French/Viet fusion with an interesting, yet delicious, filet mignon style cubes cooked to an upmost tender point. The cubes are super soft, savory, juicy, and has a touch of chewiness to finish it off. Definitely a mouth watering piece of art, especially when eaten with the soft yolked up rice, sliced onions, and a piece of moisturized lettuce. Overall an overwhelmingly delicious dish 80% of the time, I say 80% cause there's a small chance it's not as "perfect" as it usually is. Otherwise, totally worth getting, though their fried rice is a tiny bit sad compared to the whole plate.

= Price / Service =
Prices are pretty fair, most of the good menu items are around $7 to $9, which is generally affordable for most people. Cash only though.
Service is alright, the only server is the cashier and he's usually just chilling there while we eat.

Lots of choices . I tried banh xêo and bún mám. Decent. Liked the pictures. Wasn't as crowded as I thought it would be. Would try the rice dishes next time.
Service is great! Food is great!! I love the Rice with Mignon. It's the priciest at only $9-$10 (can't remember) but wow is it great. I add their hot sauce and mix it up. My mouth waters just thinking about that plate. The tables do tend to be sorta sticky but not really dirty... It's a nice family owned restaruant.
Newly remodeled, staff is super nice and food was delicious!
After a long busy day at the Galleria, through horrible holiday shopping traffic, on a Monday, we found ourselves back at Bellaire, Chinatown for some lunch. My dad decided to come here to try something different. The place looks a hole in the wall, but surprisingly was beyond expectation. We ordered 3 different dishes to share. IT WAS AMAZING. you gotta check this place out for a good meal!
Went here with my wife and her friend. I ordered the shredded pork over rice and they made it with exactly that. It was really good and it's the kind of food I expected in Houston. This is better than the stuff I can usually get in Dallas. Overall I recommend this place.
Dont be alarm with the dated decor, dim lights, if you do not see many people inside. This place does not get very busy however the food is exceptional. For lunch the Rice platter special combination (com tam dac biet) is all under ten dollars. Its delicious, the meat flavored just right. I came back a second time for the two persons family dinner for under twenty dollars which was surprising good. Enough for even three people. Highly recommend.
Good value, authentic Vietnamese
We came in for an early Friday dinner and ordered the C2 rice dish and Com Bo Luc Lac. Best rice dishes in Houston. The filet mignon cubes were cooked perfectly and super tender. Runny, sunny-side up egg was crispy on the bottom. We were the only ones there so service was quick and food came out hot. Interior appeared much cleaner than before. Super affordable!
Good food :D very thoughful owner
Amazing place with amazing food. Best stir fried beef i've ever ate, the rice dishes always comes out perfect. The people there are wonderful. Would recommend to anyone 10/10. The go-to restaurant of the family.
Authentic Vietnamese food. Homestyle comfort food items. Very reasonable prices. We ate their course for 3 for dinner. Every dish was tasty and fresh. In particular, I enjoyed the canh chua ca and the mussels. Definitely adding to my regular rotation place to eat.
The restaurant was cute, really clean, super nice staff, and the food was absolutely delicious.
Whoever does the seasoning for the meat, deserves a raise. Thank you for the food.
the food tasted very good, like the food i used to have in Vietnam. well it is also dirty-ish like in the old country. they don’t accept cards, so bring cash. this is the reason for the 4 stars only.
One of my fave com tam place everything is Cooked to perfection. One complaint is they never give me soda Chanh just sprite.
This place is super casual. But their food is so good. The best place for broken rice plate.
If you don't like the way it looks, order take out and enjoy it at home
