The carrot cake and red velvet cake from here are some of the best cakes I have had in Houston. I recommend this place to any one to try it not only for their dessert but also their sandwiches as well.
I stopped here for the first time 7-16-2018 that was the day I dropped my son at boot camp for the Army..I was sad.. They were so friendly... That was a huge plus.. But then I ordered thier super poboy and Greek salad OMG!! AMAZING!! I've had a sandwich from here every day since and my family from out of town came to visit I took them here.. They got the gyro..I of course got my sandwich.. Yup you guessed it ...it was yummy again..I'm so impressed with this restaurant... And the owners!
I have personally been coming here for about 20 years. I moved away from the area to magnolia but still make it out whenever I can. I love the family owned business they have and the service and food is great!! We will continue to come here as long as the doors are open!
Deliciousness!!!! Have to go here every time I’m in town.
I found this place on google and it looked like a nice family owned business so I decided to try it and I’m so glad I did. They are very kind and I love the family feel if the place. I ordered the cold cut sandwich I believe is what he told me it was lol. I also got the potato salad, pasta salad and stuffed grape leaves. Also the baklava. It is all amazing. I will definitely be back for another one of these simple but amazing sandwiches.
Loved the quaint decor and delish food of last owner.
Flash forward and new ownership has done a great job of updating interior.
Chicken gyro was a good size portion and new coffee addition is worth checking out too!
Best coffee in town. Very intelligent man in that place. Clean water and organic coffee. Highly recommend.
I've been coming here for over 20 years. Sad to see that he sold but I'm super happy for him! I hope that you enjoy your retirement. The new owner is super friendly and welcoming, felt like home as usual. Still the same great deli with the same great food!!!
Had a great experience here, food is made fresh, and the garlic butter they use for the bread is too 2 and it’s NOT #2!!! I got the shrimp po’boy and being from NOLA I’m always worried about ordering it from new places but I was feeling zesty 😂 all in all great spot the shrimp needed a TAD bit more flavor on the breading but still pretty good more than worth the money and for sure worth trying out!
"Real pretty"
Best compliment a New Orleanian can give for your food.
The bread was super fresh and the cold cuts were delish.
I give them a 5 crawfish review.
The family that runs the place are always so sweet especially the older gentleman. My go to poboy since i was young has always been the super. I really just love old school delicatessen vibes
Meet the new owners. They are great people. The food still maintains quality and freshness as previously by Anthonie's. The brownies are great!!
I stopped here on my lunch break and was completely satisfied with the customer service, food and info on healthy eating and the devil eggs are spot on. I will be returning. Thank You
Such a cool place to hang out,eat some sammiches and smoke some hookah. The owner is super nice and welcomes everyone and treats them like honored guests. The hookah is very decently priced compared to other hookah places I've been to ($15 for up to three people I believe). The food is also reasonably priced and delicious. Lots of hookah flavors to choose from.
Hidden Gem! I've always driven by on my way home and to work ....and always ment to stop by to try this place out. Today I finally made the stop in and I'm glad I did! To stay on the safe side I had the Philly Cheesesteak and They did not disappoint! My family also had the meatball sub and man.....a bite takes you to Italy! Flavorful marinara and the crunchiness in the bread made every bite satisfying! If your looking into a new spot to try in the area ....this place is a MUST! They've been in the business for 30+ yrs and I love supporting family businesses....this one just made it easy to come back to!
This review is long overdue. Very clean establishment. Everything from the Bread to the Meats and Vegetables are so fresh. Even the simplest things are perfectly put together. I definitely can't wait to come here again.
Eat here and you get a delicious meal for cheap and you support an honest, local small business owner. I have been coming here regularly for over 20 years, and it has not changed at all and I mean that in the best of ways. This is comfort food for me. Most sandwiches and such they make when you order, sometimes there will be some ready in the cooler, but the staff is always eager to make one for you right there. Their chow chow is outstanding, seriously you need to try it, and the ingredients are always fresh - never stale, soggy and such. Most poboys are $5.99-$6.99, and you can add on chips, fries, or other sides. They have a hooka patio too, and a bunch of worldly things like gyros and baklava. I love this place. I could never live too far to get my fix regularly, and I'm not the only one.
The very best gyros, sandwiches, and baklava!
Food was delicioushad one of the Poboy sandwiches the super with chips and a drink.
