One of my favorite restaurants at the post! The restaurant is beautifully decorated with wooden and beaded hanging lamps. Took my nephew here and his bowl was scraped clean. If it’s your first time trying west African food this is a good place to visit. We ordered the Golden bowl and the flavor of the chicken, Jollof rice and coconut curry was well blended together. It was the right amount of spice as well. Food was very delicious and I loved the Hibiscus lemonade.
This was my second visit and I pleased both experiences. I got the golden bowl and everything was seasoned to perfection. The jollof was amazing and flavorful not at all dried out. I also enjoyed the fresh Veggie mix included as it was light and palate cleansing. The sweet plantain was a perfect compliment to the savory rice and chicken. Overall really love this spot at Post and look forward to trying other things on the menu!
Got a Golden Bowl after trying their sample and I devoured it! I love how the different textures and flavors compliment each other. The portion size was huge!
Situated in a food hall, it would be easy to pass by this place, but since I never had West African food, we wanted to try it. The roadside steak in the Greens & Tings Bowl was unbelievably tender and flavorful. The Liberian rice and stewed sweet plantains were amazing. I would have preferred the vegetables to be a bit more cooked, but I felt healthy eating them. The curry in the Golden Bowl was outstanding with tender chicken. The vibe was cool with West African music playing, so it was great that we got two out of four seats in the place, so we didn’t have to eat under the glaring lights and noise of the food hall.
Probably the most flavorful meal I've had in a long time outside the house! I had the golden bowl! The flavors are really really good! The portions are respectable! I definitely will return to see if they are as consistent as they are favorable!
Bold blow flavors that jump into your taste buds. Tasty bowls with ingredients that blend together to give various flavorful bites with each shoe. The food is not too heavy, it's just perfect. With that said, it's also healthy. Each dish has a story. Make sure you ask your server. What's the story behind each dish? You will enjoy it again. There's no place to sit there so you're into at the hall. You have to go out and find a seat but it is worthwhile.
Found this gem in post market as they were giving out samples and I'm so glad i decided to give them a try. This black owned, west African inspired restaurant is so nice everything from the decor, black merch (books, apparel, etc) and most importantly the food. The food and service are amazing here!!! I ordered the trad which was the sample and it came with jollof rice, curry, Brussel sprouts, cauliflower, chicken and plantain. The flavors spice and sweetness blended so well together it was absolutely delicious. I'm not even a fan of brussel sprouts but i enjoyed these. I highly recommend checking them out!
We went in for dinner. This is the first time we tried the West African cuisine. It was a genius stroke by the restaurant to offer bite sized taste cup where we go to try their hibiscus lemonade (which was absolutely divine), their jambalaya (fried rice), a sweet plantain item (loved it), and a coconut milk based curry (delicious too). We enjoyed tasting all these items.
We decided to order the Trad bowl which contains grilled chicken, jambalaya (fried rice), the sweet plantain, and steamed vegetables (cauliflower, brussel sprouts). It doesn't come with a gravy. Good thing is that they display samples of all the bowls they offer so you can choose whichever seems the most appealing.
The ambience is so AMAZING that it transports you to Africa. They have transformed a small space to give you an authentic African experience. We absolutely loved it. Especially the small touches with the decorative ceiling, the book shelf, the chairs and the wallpaper. If you're at Post, definitely don't miss this place!
UNMATCHED! Once I tried a sample of the Golden Bowl, I immediately bought the entree! It was beyond delicious! I had to come back with my family try it again during the day and once they tried it they too were hooked! I literally ate there 3 times this week. I love how flavorful the Golden bowl is. The spice level is just PERFECT not too spicy.

If you had a bad experience with African inspired food before, you deserve it to yourself to try this place. Don't write off an entire continent's food lol.
The chicken had a beautiful flavor Curry with the rice and the plantains... Everything blended together to perfection. No strong bitter flavors or anything like that. I was happy to see my 4-year-old tried it and then continue to eat off of both bowls.
It's inside the post and that place is super cool It's going to get more and more tenants but the sky roof garden is definitely a place to check out.
The pies were decent. The filling was a bit mushy mushy. However, it tasted good.
For the Trad, rice was well seasoned and cooked, but it seemed like they used liquid smoke for it. The chicken was tender and tasty. The stewed plantain was phenomenal. It really enhanced the dish.
For the Greens & Tings, the rice was salty and undercooked. The beef was flavorful and tender enough.
Overall, the food was good, but was below my expectation.
This is one beautiful restaurant .. Food was quite delicious and indeed very flavorful. Jollof rice tasted like party Jollof from back home. Kudos to the mgt. It was great to see a Nigerian restaurant in the post HTX location.
Awesome place with really friendly people for starters. I ordered the Motherland dish with beef and fell in love with the first bite. The beef was tender with a little char, the jambalaya had a really rich flavor and the bean curry made me want to grab another bowl to go! Strongly recommend to anyone wanting to try something new!
I was blown away with flavor! Everything was freshly made, gluten free and very good. First, the food was super hot and you can tell it was just made. There was a nice crunch and char to the chicken, the rice was very good with the sausage (like an African jambalaya) and the yellow curry/sauce was amazing. I lived in west Africa for years and this has all those traditional flavors but at a much elevated level. I came here expecting to eat somewhere else… until I got to try that free sample!
Ran into the these East African gem in the Post, and so glad we did. Brilliant move on their part to serve samples of their golden curry and hibiscus tea. We had the golden curry bowl with chicken and their green rice (collards, beans, rice) and it was delicious. The golden curry is coconut based and sort of blend between Indian and Thai food. The bowl is 22$ and enough for one person. We loved it. Kudos to them for being inclusive and offering halal chicken and beef options.
Very good. Try the samples and make a decision. I’ve had the Golden bowl—chefs kiss. Today I tried the triad bowl. It’s has chicken and other things: It’s delicious, filling but light and flavorful. The hibiscus tea is also worth trying. This place is located in the Post HTX. The lines are long but it moved quickly.
Been wanting to visit the Post for a while and finally did on a weekday. Parking was free. Soon as we entered, on the right I notice this restaurant which I had also ran across as a new restaurant in Houston with great reviews. We were greeted with a very friendly face offering testers. Something was coconut, vegan with black eyed peas, jollof rice and chopped plantains. Also hibiscus tea. I have only sparingly eating African food because I never know what to order. But this modern menu made it easy as if the tasters weren’t convincing enough. I would come here again and again. Since I work downtown I might just become a regular. Highly recommend.
This is the best restaurant in Post! They deserve their own brick & mortar. The curry with the jollof is the best combination of flavors, I’ve ever had. Getting one sample will have you hooked. I’m definitely going back in the next few days. I NEED this again before I fly back home.

Amazing variation in flavor. Had some good tasting food after a long time eating bland American food. The shop is inside a mall and it is not the best atmosphere in terms of service you can expect. It's a food court and you will at least have other shops to get food from.
