Dear Chef,
As I sat in my hotel room and glanced at each restaurant on my iPad, I thought to myself. I want something cozy, so I can relax. I came across this magical place.
I looked at the photos and pressed buy, praying and hoping that the meal that was taken by some wizard and it would tase as great as it looked. I waited with excited. My meal arrived and it was like staring at beautiful gooey goodness you call salmon and shrimp bowl pasta.
I savored each and every bite like it was my last day on earth. I enjoyed it so much that the cake was blushing with glee.
Thank you for putting your foot and arm in it!
Your big fan,
Josenotjuan
I had the shrimp and salmon bowl and it was absolutely delicious. It was my first time trying salmon and I've even craving it since. I'm not a fan of 25.00 for what I had but to consider what I had and the serving size and how filling and not to mention the cost of inflation I understand the cost. It was delicious. The banana puffing wasn't that great it was just like regular pudding with the cookies and pecans - it was OK and the peach cobbler was OK kind of bland. That's all that we had. I will definitely be back again for the salmon bowl though.
I've been wanting to go here for months and they did not disappoint! I got the fried chicken dinner and the salmon and shrimp dinner; big portions and excellent flavors. I got stuck in traffic and the fried chicken meal didn't make it home and that salmon and shrimp was enough for two people... I'll be coming back every week, see y'all soon!
The oxtail plate was amazing!! It was such a generous portion I ate off of it for lunch and dinner for two days. It was well worth the $27 I paid for it. Also the cinnamon bun was delicious 😋 Next time I’m in Houston I’ll definitely be back to try my next plate.
I had the salmon pasta. The pasta was great salmon with salsa and the sides. They gave more than enough food!
I came for dessert and it was well worth the drive! My family and kids enjoyed the cake and saved some for Thanksgiving! I also delivered some to my family members. They had the same reaction, we all loved it! Great Job and keep up the great customer service!
A friend of mine told me about this place and it's crazy that I always drove pass this place and never knew they sold soul food. It is by far tha best tasting soul food I've had 😁😁
We go here all the time and the food is always so delicious!!! Your plate is always loaded with a bunch of goodness!!! The cost is so worth it and you can eat off your plate twice cause it's loaded!!! If you have not been please get there!!! Trust me you will love it!!!

I had been following Cupcake Kitchen on social media for quite some time, and more recently have been seeing more food posts along with their delicious looking desserts! After weeks, maybe even months of drooling on their food pics, I finally trek my way across Houston! It was rather a far drive for me, with the typical Houston's rush hour, however I'm happy to say it was almost well worth the trip.
I definitely had my mind set on what to order, and tried the crab cake dinner. This meal cost $25 and came with quite a bit of food. Served with pasta, 2 crab legs, a corn, 2 crab cakes, a hard boiled egg, and 3 well seasoned jumbo shrimp, and heavily topped with their delicious sauce. The pasta could have used a bit more sauce as everything was drenched on top that pasta didn't get much sauce attention. Crab and shrimp were well seasoned and delicious! The only thing I had a hard time justifying was that this whole box of togo food costed me $25. A bit pricey... but maybe a bit more pasta would have made up for the cost.
The gumbo was another item I've been drooling for awhile. This. Was. Delicious! Smoked turkey, grilled chicken, blue crab, sausage, and shrimp. Honestly, I'm no gumbo expert, but this gumbo was life! Had a great kick to it and everything was amazing. However... $20 for a 32 OZ? Come on man... maybe $10-15. About a third of the container was filled with rice already. I rather omit the rice and have the container filled. And eat it with the rice I have at home. Sounds like a better deal if you ask me.
All in all, the food was great, the service of the gentleman behind the counter was very nice, and my food came out at a reasonable time. I really enjoyed my food, however driving across town and putting a dent in my wallet was not quite enjoyable. I'll definitely be back, but it won't be until for awhile...
First time there food was great very good portions. Excellent customer service definitely will be going back.
I knew this was about to be good when I could smell the food through the box. This food was sooooo good. Didn’t really care for the skin on the salmon but it came right off which confirmed it was cooked correctly. 👌🏾👌🏾 The service was great.
Update: Munchies After Dark... is amazing! I had the Stuffed Salmon & it was delicious. Reasonable portion for the price.
I've followed Cupcake Kitchen to this third address. Spacious location. Limited options. Cashier was not very friendly, but was efficient. Parking on weekend is minimal.
The food & service was great, I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a great meal. But watch were you park after 5pm the tickets $70 and towing $261.50 comes out!
