Food was very flavorful with good thick sauce. Portions were nice and it came out hot and fresh.

Still could be he best Chinese food in town. Been their customer since the 1980s when they had their location in Alief. If that isn't a good enough endorsement for 5 stars I don't know what is.

This place doesn't look like much when you walk in but it has great food, and the best sweet and sour chicken I've ever had! Double spicy beef is also good, comes with lot of curry and not too spicy. The only reason I'm not giving it 5 starts is because the rice was a little on the cold side for me. Great for take away though, take it and warm it up to your desired temperature ;)

I have been following this restaurant since they closed the location in China town. Family owned business for generations, they conserve their traditional flavor, which is what I love. You pay when you order and is practically self service. You can tell the good quality on the food and as many of my favorite places, everything I've ordered is delicious and fresh made, but I always go back to the Double Spicy Chicken and their Special Fried Rice.

My all time favorite Chinese restaurant!! Great food, great service, good people. If I could come here 3 times a week, I would. Hot Pepper Chicken is my all time favorite, and I've been coming here for 20 years! Update: I am completely crushed since they closed down a few months ago...don't know if there's another green like this one. :(

I've been eating at Chinese Cafe at different locations for over 12+ years with my family, since I was a kid. We have been coming for one thing in particular: Double Spicy Chicken! Have never had anything like it anywhere else, and can gladly say I will keep coming for just that one dish.

If you want good, cheap, Chinese food, this is a great lunch spot. It's usually not too busy (not like when it was located at Richmond/Sage) and still has the same great staples like Double Spicy Chicken/Beef, Chicken w/Black Mushrooms, Pork w/ Dry Tofu, etc.

Classic Chinese restaurant from Chinatown that's migrated to this inexpensive divey part of town Not hipster. It's an old McDonald's. Make sure you know what to order We recommend the fish pieces plate Pork with bamboo shoots Pan fried dumplings Again keep your expectations in check and it's a great place.

They used to have locations in Bellaire, Sugar Land, and in the Galleria on Richmond. Sadly they're down to just this one. My favorite dishes here have always been the Kung-Pao chicken and the Mustard Green Pelt Bean with Dry Bean Curd. I have never eaten anywhere else where they make the Kung-Pao the way Chinese Cafe does, and I especially don't like it when I find my kung-pao watery and with celery like at some of the more generic places. Other dishes worth trying are the Bean Curd with Black Mushrooms, the Tomato and Egg, and the different fried rice and noodle dishes. Chinese cafe is definitely hole in the wall and you might miss it if you're not looking for it carefully. The restaurant looks like a converted McDonalds and there is plenty of seating. It doesn't look like much on the outside or inside, but the food is delicious.

Great place with great food my family has been going there since the early 90s don't knock it till you try it. The double spicy chicken is the best if you like spicy and if you want to tone it down then get their Kung pao chicken or beef with dry bean curd.

Great chinese food for lunch and made at the moment. The place just moved to this new location from an old location that was always packed. Lots of space on this one. The food is in the style of a fast food Chinese place but made as ordered.
