Hibachi Japanese Steakhouse made a name for itself locally when it advertised "all you can eat sushi." And, while this sounds like a dream, on this particular day, I didn't feel like completely gorging myself. Instead, I opted for an order of pad thai and just one sushi roll. First, the pad thai. It was in this sweet & sour sauce, which made it much sweeter than usual.
Expensive but good for a fancy night out. Sushi bar, japanese steakhouse, and restaurant this huge place shouldn't disappoint.

Good food and service. Always have good service and the food is always good here. The sushi is excellent. Seems a bit pricey for chinese food though.
I came for dinner at the hibachi. The food was delicious and entertaining to watch while it was cooked. The prices are high, but it's a good treat.
Great Chinese have yet to try Japanese.. I love this place (Chinese side) here are some reasons why: Crab ragoon very light and tasty the wanton is not over cooked, heavy or real thick and hard. Its very light and non greasy.
The General Tso is not deep fried chicken with tons of breading on it. Small amount of breading just enough to capture some sauce to add to the flavor of the chicken.
Great sauce! Not a mess of syrup / overly sweet. The sauce is amazing really makes the dish. Taste great but doesn't overpower the food.
Great portion size! I always have to take some home.
P.S the Hong Kong Chicken with almond sauce is also great! I have a hard time trying different things here since I love the General Tso's and Hong Kong chicken so much.
Favorite Special Occasion Visit. We live in a bordering state and make the trip to Hibachi on all special occasions. Well worth the trip.
Food is extemely good. Chefs are very good and entertaining. Value is extremely good.

We drive 3 hours to eat here. We LOVE this place. We used to go once a month when we lived nearby in Ashland, but since moving to Central KY we drive 3 hours about once every 3-4 months just to have a "Hibachi Fix," as we call it!
When you go in you can choose to sit on the Chinese side, or be seated at a Japanese Hibachi table. We typically are in a hurry to head back home (long drive) so we often get ours to go.
Our orders have always been perfect, both Japanese and Chinese. Our absolute fave is the General Tso's (medium spicy) and Orange Chicken (medium spicy). We haven't found another place anywhere that uses only white meat chicken, slices it as thin or gets it as crispy..YUM!
I would pay serious money to have their secret for crispy chicken and their orange sauce recipe.
The portions are huge. We always have enough to take home for lunch and another dinner. We order an entree each, plus Japanese fried rice for each entree.
Staff is super friendly, as is management. Our favorite server is Camille, she's been there longer than the ten years we've been going there...and always remembers us.
I do agree with some of the other reviews that the restaurant needs renovations. It always has a musty smell, but when you have the heat and steam produced by HIbachi tables in a historic downtown building, you are going to have humidity and a bit of dankness, no matter how high the ceilings are.
So, go and enjoy! It's a bit expensive, but the food and portions are worth it.
The Japanese is the best in the Tri-State. Good sized portions, too. The Chinese is pretty good, as well, but the Japanese is the real star here.
The asolute BEST. You would be hard pressed to find better food than you can find at Hibachi within a two hundred mile radius. Their sushi is to die for, and the entree, both chinese and Japanese are hot, fresh and delicious. I have been dining here for over 9 years and have never had a problem with the service or the food. When I say dining here, I mean at least once sometimes more a week. It is my family's absolute favorite. My ten year old and five year old always request Hibachi when we ask them where they want to eat. The absolute best!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Becoming a huntington classic. Hibachi has been around for a long time and as long as I can remember it has been a great place for fine dining. The atmosphere is fun yet swanky. Eating in what we call "the japanese side" is a treat. The chefs are very talented at working the grill and always put on a good show. The salad dressing is phenomenal. The sushi is meh. The quantities are descent. Sometimes I feel like the restaurant has kind of a dirty feel to it...I like the food don't get me wrong..but the wait staff wear polo shirts and don't typically look the part of a fancy restaurant.. at least not to justify the price. I think the restaurant in general could use some renovations to make it feel less dirty.
Excellent experience!. I've never come to Hibachi and had less than a perfect experience. The food is always cooked to perfection, the staff is always very friendly and helpful, and the atmosphere is excellent. Also, everything is always very clean. I would recommend Hibachi to anyone, and if you go you absolutely have to have their sushi!
Great. They have some really amazing food. They're very vegetarian friendly too! They'll even use a different spatula to prepare your rice if you ask them!
Also, they have a sushi special Sunday through Thursday: buy one get one free, anything on the menu. They're sushi is great and I take advantage of this at least twice a week. Amazing!
Hibachi is probably the most well known restaurants in Huntington, and it deserves to be. The food is beyond all atmospherical expectations
Great. The food here is awesome and the service is spectacular. The fire grills are one of a kind and the fried rice is amazing. I am a fan of this resturant and strongly suggest it.
