Tried something new tonight, and glad we did! The whole family loved it. Food is awesome. Staff is amazing...friendly, patient, helpful, made us laugh, joked with the kids....can't say enough! You have to go check them out. We will be back for sure.

The bread is just amazing. Well the whole thing is amazing. But dang that bun.
Their cheesesteaks are what they are known for but I also like their wings. Get the wings wet with their hot sauce. Really good. The fries are thin and crispy. It is neither slow or fast. You order and get your drink and they usually call you in about 5 minutes or so.
I really love a good philly cheese stake. This place is so yummy. The cheese sauce is pretty good and the food comes out piping hot, but still delicious. Their fries were alright, but I would get them again. The atmosphere is great and the staff is friendly. I will definitely be going back!
Awesome side note: When I went with my co-workers because one of them wanted to try the Liberty Bell challenge and he became the first person to beat the Liberty Bell!

Fresh Served Hot Sandwichs, had their Southstreet Philly, it was great! Friendly staff and clean establishment. Will be adding to my sub list for sure.

Love At First Bite. I was just browsing the web when I stumbled upon Fred's Downtown Philly. The original one started up in Plano. There are seven total with the latest being here in Hurst.
The place is all about Philadelphia, so get over it! Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles paraphernalia decorate the walls along with Utz potato chips ads and other assorted pictures. Red and white checkerboard walls enliven this fun-filled place. It is the perfect spot for Philly cheesesteaks and half pound burgers.
Have a seat at one of the dozen or so lacquered tables and prepare yourself for a memorable meal. I ordered the #6 Pepper Philly Cheesesteak which came with sauteed onions, banana peppers and cheese. Carlos, the restaurant manager, thought he recognized me from an earlier visit. It wasn't me, but it created an icebreaker to discuss the newest addition to the Hurst local restaurant scene. Carlos said that Fred's Downtown Philly has been open for about three months. He said everybody who tries his Philly cheesesteaks return again and again. "That's what I heard," I replied.
It wasn't too long until it was ready and my name was called. From the moment I first saw it I knew there was going to be a special bond between me and this sandwich. It was love at first bite. I haven't had a lot of cheesesteaks in my life, but I know what I like and this was it. The cheese, meat, onion and pepper combination was out of this world. The bread was mushy, the fresh kind of mushy. As I ate through the sandwich I tried to slower my pace. Before too long it would just be a memory. I wanted to make it last.
The fries were pretty incredible too. They were not greasy at all and very crisp to boot. They had some Fred's Hot Sauce which came in one of those siracha bottles. I applied some to both cheesesteak and fries and was pleased with the result. A little hot, but not overpowering, I liked this additional flavor as well.
Well, Carlos was right. The cheesesteak WAS great. So much so that I guess this will have to be the place I go to for any future ones. Hmmmm. Somehow I am going to have to try one of their massive burgers too. I guess.
Came back again and the place is now under new management and has gone through a nice little remodel. The new staff is very friendly and you feel very welcomed when you enter. I opted to try out a Fat Fred Burger, which is a burger with cheese steak meat on it and a homey mustard sauce. The burger as I expected is delicious and the bun is perfect. This place continues to impress me.
The cheese steaks here are ridiculously good. Will be back!
Absolutely LOVE this place! Everyone there - from the manager to the staff is friendly and welcoming. The food is great & is the closest thing I've had in Texas that compares to Philly. They even have water ice!!! Gotta keep it OG with the pepper, ketchup, pickles, and onionsđź‘Ś.
Will def be back again and again. Well worth the drive.
Our family really enjoys eating here. We haven't been in since the remodel so I'm interested to see what all has changed and I hope the food is just as great as before. Philly's are amazing! Fries were always good. Burgers are good. Service was always friendly and Fred was a hoot when we met him a while back.

First off the staff is very welcoming and friendly; Great service. To me that is the first thing I look for when entering any establishment. Secondly, the food... one of the best philly steak sandwich’s outside of Philly I have ever had. It was well prepared, seasoned just right, perfectly shaved onions, the generous amount of meat, and just the right amount of melt in your mouth cheese!
This location gives you a “I’m at home” vibe. When you are near Hurst, TX, within a 100 miles... make this a must go to spot. You wont be disappointed.

My GF and I have driven by several times and heard her Uncle and Mother talking about how good it was, so we decided to check it out. If you have read any of my other posts, you can see a common thread of importance; service and hospitality. Upon walking in, we were greeted with a smile. The 2 brothers working the kitchen and register were very friendly and courteous. As "first-timers" they walked us through the menu and even gave suggestions on their favorites. Despite the restaurant being very full, our food came out in a timely manner. The cheese steaks were great! They have a large menu with loads of options (even vegetarian friendly options). My lone complaint is the lack of plastic knives and forks readily available. I am sure they have already corrected the issue, but if that is my biggest compliant, they are doing pretty darned good. I look forward to trying the "hot" cheese steak on my next visit. I think it is made with ghost peppers! Keep up the good work guys!! and good luck!
