To start with the ambience itself tells you that you are at the right place, aroma of the restaurant gives you those Thai vibes. Staff is humble and makes sure you get what you expect and then the food takes care of everything else, food that plays with your taste buds so well that you can’t just get over it and the entree plates a huge I bet you will need a to-go box with it. Overall a must must visit place specially with its lunch deals you can’t afford to miss this place.
Had a wonderful experience here at Thai Spice. The Fried Tofu were piping hot little crunchy and pillowy squares. The Green Papaya Salad was amazing in its flavors and simplicity. Green beans, green papaya shreds and plenty of hot peppers in a sweet and salty dressing. They did not cut back on the amount of papaya like I've experienced at a few other joints. Staff was friendly and smiling and we had three separate employees ask if we needed anything and if everything was okay.
Awesome place. Pineapple fried rice was very nice and came with large quantity. Great customer service. Overall ambience is great for this location.
The massaman curry is so amazingly good. Get some of that over a little rice and I'm a happy customer. The portions are large enough that I'm frequently left with lunch for the next day. Make sure you get a Thai tea!
Definitely one of my favorite place. Pineapple Fried rice you should not miss it. Whenever I visit Greenwood I definitely try this. I had also tried the Red Curry and it was also nice. Hope to visit the place soon.
Good food pretty decor. The food a is a little pricey so we only eat here on splurge days. That said, everything we've had so was delicious. My favorite is the Goong Ob Woon Sen!!! Shrimp and glass bean noodles cooked in cilantro and ginger spices. Omg I'm addicted. The cashew pineapple chicken was a little dry but it still tasted so good. I wish I could review more dishes but I order the goong on EVERY time. Can't help it! Friendly to my kids, and they love the dinosaur shaped nuggets. :) btw the decor is also lovely!
EXCELLENT. I WAS on vacation with my husband and we go to THAI SPICE ohhhh my God, what an excellent taste....the rice...the salad...everything WAS perfect....I go back soon......I recomend this restaurant 100♡%
Food Good..owner and some crew not friendly!. Food are good..had dine in about 3xs I guess..2years ago. I always get Kao Padd, love it. But the thing are the lady owner and one or two food server are not that friendly. And on our last visit we were disappointed as we were supposed to get lunch specials (as per menu online) to find out that they DON NOT have that anymore or it never exist at all. We were not happy.
OH MY!!!! AMAZING! Love this place so much! We ate here on NYE and had a great experience! I ordered the Panang Curry and it was delish! Love their rice too!
Best in Indy. Been to dozens of Thai spots around Indy. Thai Spice IS the absolute best. Best of all, the Tom Yum soup cures hangovers. Really, it does.

Two Thai places in town, this one is the best. Where I came from (Colorado Springs), Thai restaurants are a dime a dozen. So it was with great surprise that Greenwood only had two Thai places. And they're both essentially side by side. Here are the differences:
1. Thai Spice is cheaper than My Thai Cafe.
2. Thai Spice has larger portions than My Thai Cafe
3. Thai Spice has lots of people in it, always, when we go to pick up our take-out. My Thai Cafe had nobody but workers the night we went there.
Thai Spice is a very nice Thai restaurant. My wife always orders the #61, a version of Pad Thai. The peanut sauce is super sweet, but unique. It was great and we both like it alot. I jump around the menu alot, #63 is not so good, but #91 is. Don't forget the appetizers with #14 (a fried dumpling) having a perfect mix of sweet and salty in it. You'll go away feeling full and happy.
We drive 30 miles, every Tuesday. Where I work, Tuesday is known as "Thai Tuesday." We ALWAYS went to Thai Spice. One Tuesday, I suggested we go to Siam Square - everyone was disappointed, including me. I recently got transferred to Martinsville. The closest Thai restaurants are in Bloomington - so we tried them all. They were OK, but nowhere near as good as Thai Spice.
I get the Pad Seuw (Thai Hot) everywhere we go. This dish uses wide noodles. All of the Thai restaurants in Bloomington serve egg noodles (obviously from the supermarket) that are about 1/3 inch wide. Thai Spice serves home-made noodles that are about 1 inch wide.
I will never again stray from going to Thai Spice.
The Spice is right!. I went here with my family the other weekend and loved it. Its a nice, cozy place with friendly people. We had lunch family style and ordered to share. We started with the curry puff & Pla Meuk Tod Krob (calamari). Both were good...the curry puff was the nice surprise. A nice crispy shell with delicate, curry spiced chicken....and with the cucumber sauce...Yum! Next we got Laad Nar(flat noodles with broccoli and we added pork), Padd Makur (eggplant stir fry), Green Curry & Massaman Curry. With the exception of the Green Curry, we ordered everything at medium. There's lots of flavor, with just a hint of heat. Medium lets the flavor of all the fresh and tasty ingredients come out.
The Green Curry we ordered Thai Hot. I was with my nephew, who is into trying things hot. It had a little more heat than what he was used to, and he was surprised at how long the heat stays with you. Don't get me wrong...the curry was wonderful. It had lots of flavor...even when done Thai Hot...but you really have be familiar with heat to enjoy it. (I ate that last (didn't want to overload the tastebuds with heat) so that I could better enjoy the other stuff.)
Overall....a great first impression. I will definitely be back.
Experience. I live on the northside so I have only made it out to eat here twice so far. The food is AMAZING! Best place to have Pad Thai! If it was closer I would probably have been 10 plus times already! I am a huge thai food fan and this is my favorite! Must try:)
Perfect Thai restaurant. Delicious, clean, fast service, generously portioned food, appropriately priced, nice atmosphere, and a bathroom sink that I adore. It is the same each and every time we go.
Love this place! The food is always good and service always very friendly. I highly recomend the salmon dish with pineapples! Not sure of the name, but there is only one, and it is amazing!
Can't get enough ..... I eat here a lot ...get something different and always enjoy my meal...but the coconut juice always makes it better..
Thai Yummmmm!. My husband and I absolutely love love love this place! The shrimp rangoon is one of our favorite appetizers and it is definitely one that we suggest to our friends often and they love it. My favorite dishes here are the pad thai noodles and the pineapple fried rice, which is really cool because it comes out in a half of a pineapple. My husband has usually gets one of the curry dishes. He always devours them. He recently got the yellow curry with shrimp and the smell was amazing. It was super spicy, so if you enjoy spicy you should try this. I always get mine hot and I started off with medium and got used to it. It took me some time to build up my tolerance to the spice though, so if you can't tolerate spicy foods you should not attempt the hot.
We will return to try more!. We heard Thai Spice was worth the trip. the location is what kept us away for so long. travelling through the greenwood mall area is just not fun. but we had a another agenda and decided to stop in for a late lunch. we were seated and served promptly. we ordered tom kai soup and beef sataty appetizers. they were great. we ordered pineapple fried rice with pork and a beef and broccoli noodle dish. both were excellent. especially the pineapple fried rice. it was served in a hollowed out pinapple shell with cashews. each dish was what i wouldve expected from a traditional american-thai restaurant. we will return!
Some of the best Thai food I've eaten since living in California. Go for the Thai Hot!!! ;)
Love the peanut sauce, the satay and chicking dumplings, slow to get food, mixed drinks arent good, entrees are greasy but overall decent. Pad thai is boring, i have had better! Chk out restroom faucets, coolest thing about the place!
Favorite. For years Kabuto's was my favorite place to goto lunch with the guys on Friday's. Still love me some Kabuto's but Thai Spice is the new favorite!
Perfect portions, I'm a big dude and never leave hungry.
So much flavor. I've tried everything on the lunch menu by now in various spice levels and its all good.
I like to experience my food and Thai Spice always surprises me at how much flavor is packed into each bite.
Stopped here today with a friend who had never had Thai. We weren't sure they were open at first as no one was int he parking lot and the building didn't look like they were open. There wasn't hours posted that we could see. It turns out they were just opening for lunch service. We got the crab rangoon type appetizer and they were stuffed with crab meat! very yummy and well worth the price.
We both wanted to try the Thai fried rice and the dish that was wide noodles, bok choy, broccoli in a "brown gravy".
i've had the noodle dish at other thai places and was surprised to see how much "brown gravy" the dish was swimming in. it was ok but i've had better at Jasmine Thai on the north side.
the Thai fried rice was really good. we both decided the noodle dish was a one time dish... won't likely order it again now that we've had it... but the thai fried rice was very very good and we'd come back and order it again and again.
we were disappointed that they didn't have a lunch portions menu. for 2 entrees, an appetizer, 2 sodas... each of us paid $18 before tip which was quite expensive for lunch.
it was a nice treat, the thai fried rice was quite good, but for the expense of it (and the distance for me since i live on the north side) I won't likely go back any time soon.
I can see why people like it though.
Awesome. Been eating at thai spice for 5 years love it,best thai food in town. after they shut down the old location(next door)a new one opened called my thai. i was not impressed, got carry out, took it home, wife through it in the trash. so when you go to thai spice, make sure you dont get confused and go to the wrong restaurant, (they are very close together). if you try both i am sure you will agree. i have tried every thai place in town, thai spice smokes them all..and yes sometimes you have to wait awhile to get your food, but it does take time to cook this type of great food.
ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!! Visiting in the area and searched for restaraunts in the are. The reviews were absolutely true. But this place is MUCH beter than I could have ever expected. My husband and I had the crab rangoon and Pad Thai. We received HUGE portions and had to take it home. The Pad Thai could feed 4 people. I am amazed with this place and will be back when visiting in the area!!
Epicurean Delight. I have eaten meals, all over the North American Continent, the Carribean, and the UK. I have to say the food was simply amazing. I have eaten here at least once a week since beginning of August, I have eaten almost everythingon the menu, with out finding a dish i do not like. The service is excellent, yes I have had some slower service on certain days, but by and large it is the same at any restaurent (life gets in the way), If you are looking for Excellent food, with a relaxed feeling, and an aroma for your senses look no further. Happy Eating
Great Thai place. Its one of my all time favorite restaurants. We go there almost once a week. Great appetizers, vegan friendly, awesome pad thai noodles and fried rice plus the deserts...and for the tea fans..ginger tea.....Great taste and quality of food, huge portions, good service, great ambience(much bter than the older place) and totally your money's worth...None of my guests I taken there have been disappointed..DO TRY..:)
Great food hands down!! An awesome menu full of great choices. The seafood and vegetables (the asparagus is amazing, never had any as good) taste super fresh. The service is a little slow and uncoordinated with several waiters getting you things, but it makes little impact on how great the food is. The only warning is that first timers should get mild or medium heat....cause when it says hot, its hot.
Love it!. I love this place. It is one of my favorite restaurants. Love the tofu that comes before your meal with the sweet peanut sauce (and I didn't think I would). Sometimes the spiciness varies… but not bad. I love the taste of the food… I think it is awesome. I get the #83 most of the time but I have never had anything here that I didn't like. They have one of my favorite desserts. I love the sticky rice and mango! For what you get… I think the prices are great.
This place was wonderful and quaint place to eat! Felt it was authentic to Thai food!
Good. Best Tom Kha Gai in Indy.
Great Food, Horrible Service. We visited Thai Spice during Sunday lunch hour. We got the appetizer sampler (tod kieuw, the fried tofu with sweet chili sauce, and spring rolls). We got a rice entree, shrimp kao padd, to share. The appetizer sampler was good, although the spring rolls and the tod kieuw seemed a bit over-fried...I got the impression they had been pre-cooked and then fried again just before serving. The shrimp kao padd rice entree was FABULOUS. Too bad the service was horrible!
Our waitress seemed nervous and stressed (perhaps she's new, I've never seen her there before) when she took our order. When we were served the rice entree we were given no dinner plates, so we had no choice but to use our dirty appetizer plates. Also we were given no serving spoon with the rice, AND both our glasses of Pepsi were EMPTY. Finally my friend had to get up and go find a waitress to ask for a serving spoon and drink refills. LAME. Then we were presented with the bill (what if we had wanted dessert? No one asked us, so we had none). We waited and WAITED for someone to come back and take the check to settle the bill. Finally I walked out to the car while my friend walked up to the front to pay. The place was busy but not packed - I would hate to see what the service would be like if every table was full. They need to hire more staff during busy times like weekends, and the staff they have needs remedial training. Too bad the service is so bad because the food is excellent.
The wife and I came to the southside to meet a friend for some Thai and we were not disappointed. The wife got the #60 Padd Thai with beef. I got the #89 Todd Kratiem with chicken. Our friend got the #87 Padd Ped with tofu. The wife liked hers but thought she couldve ordered it at a medium (she ordered it mild). I thought the same about her dish when I tried it. Mine was excellent and could've ordered it hotter but was just as happy with the way I got it. Our friend loved hers as well and got hers at a medium. I tried it and thought it was the perfect spiciness. The service was excellent. She was very helpful in helping us decide since we are not frequent Thai people. Our drinks were never empty for long getting us refills when without having to ask. We treated to a complimentary appetizer of fried tofu in a sweet and sour sauce. It was ok. Sauce was great but tofu is not my thing. The atmosphere was adequate. A lot nicer at this location than the old one. We did have one issue. Our napkins were paper when everyone else had cloth napkins. Weird but not too big of an issue. Overall, great experience.
In my opinion the best Thai place in Indy.
Loved it. We just moved here and were hoping to find a good Thai place to replace the one from where we moved. We got takeout last night and were not disappointed. The chicken spring rolls were fantastic and the sweet chili dipping sauce was too. I enjoyed the chicken pad Thai and my husband enjoyed his chicken yellow curry. My favorite was the chicken coconut soup. I think next time I'll just get a big order of that! The Thai tapioca pudding was interesting. You have to like the texture of tapioca, though, for sure. It was sweet and salty and buttery and warm. Very interesting.
Nice clean dinning room. Friendly staff and great food. The red chilli curry was especially good.
Excellent food!. Thai Spice was one of the first places I tried when I moved here. The food is outstanding..I especially love the Curry dishes. The staff is friendly and accomodating, I always need to take some home with me so the portions are clearly more than adequate. This is the best Thai food in Indianapolis!
Authentic. I have worked in an authentic Thai restaurant before and was greatly relieved that I found another in Indy (I was highly disappointed with Siam Square). The new building is a step up from before with better lighting. The seating is pretty much the same with rows of tables but that is a typical setup for restaurants in Thailand. The service is hit or miss and unorganized. You will get a couple of servers all serving you simultaneously so be prepared to answer the same questions. The service isn't slow in my experiences though.
Portions are decent but I believe you could get just a teeny tad more for the price (or maybe it's just me being greedy for more). The food is flavorful and delicious. If you never had Thai food before, be aware that it can be extremely spicy. If you're not sure you can handle it, you can usually order mild and ask for the spice on the side. My favorites are the padd thai, padd seuw, padd kemau, padd ka prow, masaman curry, and yellow curry alongside my Thai ice tea or Thai ice coffee. I cannot wait to try the laab next time!
Thai Spice. My favorite Thai restaurant. Gotta try the fried bananas as an appetizer. Go for lunch and you'll save yourself quite a bit of money.
Overall 4.5 stars
AWESOME!!. My fiance and I have been eating here since it opened and we love this place! We eat here whenever we can! The servers/manager are so accomodating! Also, the Kiew Todd is soooo good, recently they added more crab and it is so sweet and the sweet chile sauce is to die for! Keep doin it well, Thai Spice, and we will keep lovin it!
THe BEST Asian food on the south side of Indianapolis. The flavors are absolutely authentic.
Absolutely love this place. Have been a weekly regular for over a year now. Food is always made fresh to order and staff/owners are friendly and helpful! Take a chance and be pleasantly surprised with this restaurant.
Thai at its best!. This is one of my favorite restaurants. Food is so fragrant and authentic. Always fresh and always just a little bit different - which makes me know it was cooked fresh!. My favorite is the Ba Mee Moodaeng. I love the Panang Curry and the Nam Prik Loen. The staff helped me learn some Thai phrases before I went to Thailand. Great food - especially on cold or rainy nights!
Thai Spice. I quite enjoyed my lunch here. My girlfriend and I split the curry puffs and a noodle dish before a long day of shopping - what a perfect start to the day. Our meal started with a complimentary taste of fried tofu. We weren't impressed by the tofu, but the sweet chili sauce served with it was outstanding. We kept eating the mediocre tofu just to sop up more of the amazing sauce.
The curry puffs that arrived next were perfect - crunchy and flaky exterior with a nicely seasoned chicken and potato filling. Not the least bit greasy, as I had feared. Our noodle dish had an excellent sauce and was full of crunchy, beautiful veggies. Our server was even nice enough to split the bill down the middle for us. My only complaint was that they don't offer any lunch specials - at least not on the weekends, it seems. I'm rarely down in Greenwood, but if I am, I'll definitely return.
The Best. This is some of the best food you will ever have and thats all there is to say about that!
YUM YUM. I love this place great food and service i tell everyone about it.
Great Food. Always looking for that small Thai place that offers terrific food. I have tried a few things on the menu and haven't been disappointed. Pad Thai is awesome, the summer rolls are perfect, and their curry is outstanding! Try their Peanut sauce curry , it's like 90 or 92 on the menu!
Great food, highly recommeded.
Love it. Food is consistanly good and very affordable. Can always get a table even on a Saturday night. Great carry out service too. Best kept secret in Greenwood.

First off, I was very impressed with the new digs. The rich burgundy and mustard-colored walls and the thick, cloth napkins (sporting the restaurant's logo) add a sense of elegance while the whimsical lotus lights keep things laid back. I was seated near the full bar, which was fine by me; made it easier to order a couple of mixed drinks. As a starter, my friend and I decide
Another fine Saturday afternoon, and the FLO was on the hunt for food. After being shut down by the new barbecue place(a wait we could not bare), we had a fabulous idea....time for thai! Thai Spice opened a few years ago on county line in Greenwood and wa
I've been wanting to try Thai Spice for such a long time. I will be dreaming about the shrimp rangoons for the rest of my life. The salad/fresh rolls were okay. Siam Square has better fresh rolls. Siam square also have shrimp rangoons, but the ones here topped them. The portions were huge, I had enough for 3 separate meals. The service was so nice and prompt. I can't wait to go back.
this has been our favorite Thai place in Central Indiana for years and they're still as good as ever
the padd prew wan with shrimp has perfect spicy sweet balance. the massaman curry is the richest and most peanutty in town. we've never found an eggplant with thai basil to match what they make here. most are too oily but not here. it's perfection
This is our favorite Thai place in the city, and we are picky. Tom Yum is best hands down , best Cashew Chicken my son loves their Massaman Curry, Kiew Todd or crab rangoon is best we recommend getting the cucumber sauce and we love their spring rolls. It's always clean and servers are very polite and good. Food comes quickly. Prices did go up but we get it.
Decided to stop in after reading the review of another fellow truck driver. Like him I have eaten at many different Thai restaurants around the country and I was absolutely not disappointed here! The dumplings were delicious, the Thom Ka Soup delightful and the Massaman Curry was also equally wonderful. I'll definitely be back again, you should stop in! Staff was friendly and very attentive and the place was very reasonably clean and nice for an older building. Very glad I stopped!
The food was delicious..
We ordered Crab ragoon and Drunken noodles with thai spice..It's a bit spicy side but love it.
We also ordered Thai boba milk tea which is very bad..and it took lot of time for them to set the cap of that togo order..Which we feel little frustrated because it took literally 20min..
Beautiful restaurant, great service and delicious food. We were seated immediately and served quickly on an early Friday evening. The restaurant was not crowded. The spring roll appetizer was delicious. (You get 4 large rolls which is probably more than we needed.) I had the Padd Pak Rum Mitt which had lots of fresh, well seasoned vegetables and chicken and the mild-medium heat was just right. The portions were very generous. I enjoyed my meal (and took home part of my meal for a snack later)
Their food is delicious. Everything we’ve ever had is great. We always get takeout, so I can’t talk about the restaurant itself. The prices are not cheap but it is worth it because it is so good. Sorry no photos. I highly recommend this restaurant.
Service was great with friendly smiles 😍
Curry puffs were little below average.
Tom yum shrimp soup was very good
Shrimp basil fried rice was yum
Sticky rice with mango - a must try
As a truck driver, I've tried many Thai places around the country and have been disappointed by the majority of them. To be honest, I wasn't expecting much from a Thai place in Indiana, but I was pleasantly surprised.
I ordered 4 dishes: the Tom Yum Soup with Chicken, the Tom Salad, Beef Satay, and the Pad Thai. My two favorite dishes were the Tom Yum Soup and the Yum Salad. The Tom Yum Soup was especially flavorful.
I'm very happy I stopped in to eat here.

First time experiencing Thai food. Loved it!
The Food - 5 Stars:
For the order, we had:
1) Padd Thai (Pork)
2) Padd Seuw (Chicken)
3) Pineapple Fried Rice (Shrimp)
4) Lychee
Atmosphere 3 Stars:
Located in a busy area across not too far from Greenwood Mall.
The Service - 5 Stars:
The staff and friendly and easily accommodated 5 people. The owners stopped by to make sure everything was great.
The Price - 2 Stars:
$$ - Total ~$110 before the tip.
Overall, 4 stars and this is going to be a hard standard to beat from here on out...
Five stars all around. We drive 1 hr round trip just to grab takeout from here. The portions are HUGE so you get a lot of bang for you buck (and it’s not entirely cheap here but so worth it). The wait times are conservative so I order while at home and allow about 40 min because it’s almost always longer than 30 min wait. I once sat in the lobby area and waited 1 hr for the food….so if you’re doing take out allow for a long wait. Total Wine is nextdoor so you could do some shopping while you wait.
Pad Thai is to die for! And portions (I weighed it myself) came in at 2.6#! That’s a lot to Pad Thai and I’m here for it. Panang curry is spicy no matter how much I ask for mild. But their portions are good and the flavor is worth it. Spring rolls are crispy and have really good flavor. I love Thai Spice and rave about them to everyone I talk to whenever Thai food becomes the topic of conversation. Keep it up!
Just do it!
The atmosphere is very relaxed and the staff is wonderful. If you're looking for something to tickle your taste buds and fill you up, then look no further!
Enjoy😊
We were greeted by a friendly host and waitress. We started our meal with the Appetizer Combo consisting of Chicken Satay, Spring Rolls and Tod Mun. The Chicken Satay was so fragrant from the Lemongrass and extremely tender. It tasted even better with the peanut butter sauce. Next, the Spring Rolls were crispy and light. This was our first time tasting the Tod Mun. Very flavorful, and tasted even better in the Sweet Chili Sauce. My wife ordered the Kao Padd with Chicken, and I swear there was enough food to feed three people. It was chock full of rice, chicken and snow peas. She enjoyed each and every bite. Our son ordered the Tod Kratiem, a stir-fry chicken dish with garlic and Sriracha. He enjoyed the sauce and tender chicken. I ordered the Green Curry with Shrimp, and asked for the Extra Hot heat. The Green Curry was so fragrant from the basil. The creamy broth was so flavorful from the bamboo shoots, basil and Thai Eggplant. All of the vegetables were tender, and the perfectly steamed rice added another level of creaminess. The Extra Hot heat added warmth to round out the dish without overwhelming any of the other flavors.
Been here twice, will be back in the future. The food was fantastic and the service was just as good. Reliable place for anyone wanting exotic food that you know will be good.
Fantastic food jam packed with flavor. Portions are huge, and the service was prompt and polite. I had the Thom Yum Soup, Curry Puffs, Massaman Curry with Tofu and Thai Ginger Tea, and I highly recommend each dish.
Pineapple fried rice was a visual treat as well as delicious! Service was quick and efficient even though it was very busy. Food proportions were such that we had leftovers for dinner.
