Made a reservation a day before and we were given a courtesy call a few hours prior to it to confirm our reservation, which was great. When we showed up on a Friday night, we were promptly shown to our seats. There are a few TVs at the bar if you come solo or want to catch a game while having your dinner. The wait staff is excellent. The order is taken quickly and the food and drinks also show up without much of a wait. The Caesar salad was disappointing, but the Artisan Greens salad is the exact opposite, delicious. The buttermilk basil vinaigrette adds a lot of flavor to the salad. Highly recommended. My vegetarian pasta was excellent and the grilled veggies that come with were made to perfection. The only reason this is not a 5 star review was the price. I did not expect the price of the veg entree, that does not come with a salad, to be priced the same as a steak that's served with a salad and bread. But other than that, overall it's a great place to celebrate your special day.
First off Audrey and Janae' were the best servers to have on Valentine's night. The food was great and we definitely enjoyed ourselves.
Excellent place to eat. The wait staff really knows there stuff. Food is melt in your mouth delicious.
Comfortable ambience for dining alone. Venison was good, not great with its hickory smoke flavor, I think it takes away from good venison flavor. Gator gumbo was excellent. Service at the bar with Ashley was superb.
I've visited CharBlue with my coworkers for a holiday party and we were so we'll cared for that I visited the restaurant again less than a week later. The service is impeccable and the wine selection is fabulous. Ive enjoyed the steak, brussel sprouts, and several desserts. Definitely worth a visit while in downtown.
Great service, great food, and just an all around great experience!! We will definitely be back!
Great service and delicious food. Definitely makes for a romantic dinner with the one you love.
Excellent! I held a business meeting here in one of their private rooms, and I couldn't be more pleased with how it turned out. The staff was amazing, from the planning to the service at the event. The space was nice, comfortable, and unique. The food was awesome - they had unique twists on steakhouse classics, and executed them perfectly. Their craft beer selection was also great! Definitely recommend CharBlue for a private event or just a great meal.
Good ambiance and friendly staff. I personally love their salmon it was perfectly done -very tasty and cooked just the right amount. My husband's fillet beef steak is however not the one we were hoping for as it was rather gummy and less savory. It could be a one-time thing. We'd still go back.
Came here for date night on Valentine's Day! I must say we were very very impressed. Made reservations assuming they would be swamped for the occasion. At first glance place seems small but there was more seating downstairs. We pick a perfect time and was leaving as the crowed started to come. Service was amazing. I really enjoyed that they didn't let empty plates sit on our table. Waiters were very engaging and gave an added spice when discussing our menu options. Price is as expected for a downtown restaurant. We had the king Salmon and it was cooked to perfection! We also had the lobster pops, definitely a must have appetizer. The wine was excellent. All in all this was one of the greatest dinning experiences we've had in Indianapolis in a long time a steakhouse with it's own flare! We will definitely return and share our amazing experience with others. Job well done with this restaurant!!!!
Went here for a business meeting. The service was prompt for our large table of 12 guests. Everyone was happy with the food and the level of service. We sat in the downstairs area in the back. The lighting and decorations made for an interesting atmosphere. I had the steak and it was very good.
We came in for our anniversary tonight and the wait staff Audrey and Tony went above and beyond making it a special occasion for us. The food was excellent. We started with the lobster pops, very good. We both upgraded our soup for a $4 upcharge, I got the alligator gumbo and she got the lobster bisque, both very good. We both got the blackened swordfish, and shared sides of asparagus and sweet potato souffle. It was all excellent, and we were blown away with how impressed we were.
I made reservations for our second anniversary together and we both enjoy Seafood so this place was high on my list to try out. We were immediately seated and served our amuse-bouche which was a wonderful twist as it was a two ounce drink sample.
The service was wonderful very prompt and in the traditional restaurant service style. All of the food was prepared exactly as we ordered and it was all delicious.
My only complaint and it is a minor one was that our appetizer was on the smallish side, but that's to be expected with seafood and high end.
The day after our dining we received a call from the restaurant to check in with us and ask for feedback.
Very pleased with the experience. Lobster pops, lobster bisque, house salads, steaks, and cookie dessert were all fabulous. My ribeye and the cookie dessert were exceptional. Steaks were cooked perfectly and well seasoned. Only gripe is lobster bisque seemed tiny. Service was good and we really liked the ambiance of the place. Would definitely return.
I have been wanting to go on a nice date lately and this is definitely the place to go! Our server Starling was very witty, professional and all around great. Our food was perfect, from the lobster pops, our soup, the perfectly cooked ribeye, and of course the skillet cookie with delicious vanilla bean ice cream. I loved that as soon as we sat we got a free sample of their daily cocktail! So much fun. It's expensive but worth every penny. If I could give it extra stars I would!
