Lovely casual dinner at Gregorys_russian_restaurant ! If you are looking for authentic Russian food and a family oriented atmosphere, I highly recommend this place! Food was great and the owners are very pleasant to talk to. I highly recommend to get the Cornish Hen! They also have live jazz music on the weekends. I will definitely be going back more often.

We wanted to try something different so we ventured to Castleton to Gregory's. It's in a strip mall, but still cozy. The owner served us and she was delightful. We tried both soups, both were delicious. The cabbage rolls were awesome. But the best part was dessert and coffee. We had the Napoleon, layers of puff pastry and creamy custard with whipped cream. Seriously one of the best desserts ever and big enough to split. Although it was not busy we went, I'd recommend reservations because it is small.

The food is delicious! Authentic, home cooked, nourishing, comfort food. We followed the advice of the online reviews and got the cornish hen, cabbage rolls, crimean potatoes, and creamed carrots. Everything was incredible! There were several other items we would have liked to try, as well. I have to eat gluten free, and there were a wide variety of items that were safe for me to eat. I haven't had any issues from cross-contamination, so I feel comfortable recommending this restaurant to others, as well. We were there too early to enjoy the live music. The owner plays around 7pm on weeknights. We'll have to go back!

We just learned about this restaurant even though it's practically in our back yard. Unassuming from the outside, the door opens to an unexpectedly warm and cozy atmosphere. Red tablecloths, touches of Russian decor, and a beautiful baby grand piano in the corner. We were warmly welcomed and efficiently served. The food is authentic, the portions more than adequate and delicious to boot. We ordered appetizers, wine and dessert, as we plan to visit again for a full dinner with another couple. Where else in Indianapolis can you dine while listening to live piano music performed by a award winning. international artist? We were treated to music ranging from Cole Porter to Gershwin, Mozart, Tchaikovsky and more? Shout-outs to Chef Richard, Hostess/Co-owner Deanna, and our server Pavel. Yes, you'll see us again, we'll bring friends as well as appetites!

I had an excellent time here! I visited with family and was greeted by a very friendly staff. The atmosphere is very relaxed and some smooth music playing around. If you are a picky eater, look no further. It is very easy on the palate and leaves you with a warm full feeling. I and my mother shared bits of our food to have a little try of everything. I had Pelemeni with carrots in cream and Crimean potatoes. The pelemeni were delicious, very subtle yet present meaty flavor that sticks with you. I could only wish for more sour cream with them. The potatoes were in some sort of savory cream and the carrots were in a very sweet yet not overpowering sauce. It took some time for our order to arrive, but the quality of the dish was well worth the wait and the cash spent. If you are hesitating, don't. Reminds me of Grandmas cooking. This place is stellar!

We wandered in for the first time and joined a bus load of local seniors on their outing, occupied the last open table and had a ball. Staff was overwhelmed but they handled the crowd with aplomb. Music also extremely atmospheric. All the great Russian cuisine favorites are here, and they're excellent. No vodka (yet) but that actually came as a relief to me, recalling a meal or two in Moscow in the late 80s where I can't remember eating. All thumbs up.

Great, friendly atmosphere with a nice authentic feel and of course, tasty and authentic food. Very friendly staff/ownership and well worth coming. In a strip mall area rife with big box restaurants and fast food, Gregory's is a gem worth coming back to often!

What an amazing experience! So glad we decided to go here. The family was so warm and welcoming. We enjoyed talking with them. The music was phenomenal. And The food! Oh my Goodness! SO GOOD! Everything was so delicious. I'm so glad we decided to dine here. Now I have to find a Russian market back home to get more of that beer! And hope I can buy a cookbook from them, cause there's no restaurant like this anywhere near our hometown in TN.

My fiancee and I have been wanting to try out Gregory's Russian Restaurant. Last night, we finally did! It was an absolutely amazing experience. The owners create a wonderful atmosphere- I felt as if I was in their home being graciously served while listening to some of the most beautiful classical/jazz music! I loved it! The Food- WOW!! We tried many things! Borscht, julien, cabbage rolls, lamb kabobs and even tried the Russian beer and wine! I have to say- everything was nothing short of amazing. The owners do a great job of creating a personal experience just for you! Thank you for a wonderful night out! We will return!

My wife and I friends went together and loved it! We were treated like family. The service was great and pleasantly conversational. I had a delicious Russian beer and the cabbage rolls... everybody enjoyed their fantastic meals from blinchikis to potato pancakes. And good lord are the sides ever delicious (I had Crimean potatoes and carrots and cream). We were sadly too full to try dessert. Would definitely recommend!

The owners are so welcoming and hospitable. Anyone who likes to try unique cuisine should come to Gregory's. We plan to return to try more of the menu selections.

My wife and I celebrated our twentieth anniversary with our son and his new wife (of two weeks) and our two youngest children. Everything about Gregory's was fantastic. The service was impeccable, the piano playing was beautiful and the food was perfect. We have found our favorite restaurant. The owners make you feel like family! We highly recommend Gregory's Russian Restaurant.

Authentic, genuine, and hospitable. We thoroughly enjoyed our evening at Gregory's. Do not come here if you want American-Russian food, the plates are what you would find in Russia, and that is not equaled to anything else you would find in Indy. To speak of the food, ours was all cooked perfectly. They flavors were rich, the chicken was delectable, and the sauces were perfect. They have a wide selection of classic Russian food. The hosts were all quick to make me feel like we had been welcomed into their home. Gregory's piano playing was brilliant and humble. The joy of playing music was communicated by his virtuosic hands. I would recommend anyone come here. You will enjoy a true meal.

I generally agree with the positive review. Workers are super welcoming. Good explanations of the food. Liberal use of butter. I got the borsch which I enjoyed and have never had before. Tried the other soup and it was really good. The vegetables and crepes we're good. Solid, heavy meal. I would try cabbage dish next time!

The owners of this restaurant are fabulous. The music is lovely, the owner friendly, kind, and accommodating without apologizing for her culture. The food--delicious and comforting. My husband and I enjoyed the food here just as much as we do at a Russian restaurant in Chicago. So happy to have such unique and wonderful flavors much closer to home. Go and try the food. Be adventurous. You won't regret it!
