My boss took me here for my 90 day evaluation. Gave me a raise and a free lunch. I like it and will be bringing my wife here to do our anniversary dinner and drinks
I read the other reviews and realized most of them are old and more indicative of the prior owner's management of the restaurant. If you have not been there recently you should go there for excellent food and service. I eat there at least once or twice a week. I just had a wonderful dinner of Sea Scallops and Penne Pasta in Vodka Sauce tonight. The staff is friendly and the owner is welcoming and will address any concerns if you have one, which is doubtful.
Also they do take credit cards even though it says cash only above.
Awesome.... Granted we arrived at 830 on a Wednesday but it was the best restaurant experience ive had in a loooong time. my mom and I like to experiment with different restaurants (mostly new, in broadripple) and ironically this old place beat them all...like I said a slow Wednesday, but it was the most intimate, warm dining experience I can recall. we ate outside where a duet began performing around 9pm. apparently the female singer was the replacement but she was still great, and gave my mom a kiss afterwards. food was great, service, great...again we arrived as the crowd had thinned out, but we always dine that late, and never experienced anything so good. they timed the serviing of drinks, soups, salads perfectly...slow enough we didn't feel rushed out, fast enough we weren't wondering where our food was. weve arrived at 830 at other places and still felt rushed.
Where to begin. Interesting old standard of a dated(70s?) Italian restaurant. Does a great lunch bussiness. Nights are an amalgam of old folks, couples on the down low looking to escape prying eyes and aging alternative lifestyle practitioners. The more progressive of the crowd will end the evening at the Red Key. Food is not why you come here. It's a step back in time when things were simple and the term eatery had not yet been uttered. Try it.
Great place to take a date. We went during the week. We had no wait what so ever, and were immediately greeted and sat outside (preference). They had a lovely shaded area outside, where a live duet played. They're music was great, and sounded of CD quality (if you couldnt see them, you would have thought it was a cd playing). They play requests, and its a gentleman on a piano, and lady singing. Food was awesome! Very great Calamari and Chicken Parmigiana. They have a a soup and salad that come with the meal, as well as bread, to make this complete. The staff was excellent, and very pleasant. I am a talker, and ended up speaking with the owner, as well as 3 other waiters/waitresses on different topics. Very pleasant staff. I will be taking my girlfriend here again for sure! (And we drove 45 minutes to get this meal). HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
A great patio for outside dining! Can't beat Tuesday's for "cheap meat". Also some of the best drinks in town.
Legendary Tuesday Nights. Tuesday night specials the best value in Indy!
Love it!. We had a great time and wonderful food at Marcos!

Just So Much Fun!!!. Always great food, attentive staff, casual atmosphere, and the PATIO is just our favorite place to have dinner during those wonderful Indiana summer nights. Fun fun place to see and be seen!
The specials are so good that I have never ordered off the regular menu. The also have a night that is spifical designed around cost affective great tasting steaks.
Marco's is wonderful!. From the atmosphere to the service and food, everything about Marco's is just perfect! They have a nice selection of food and the wait staff was most helpful in helping me choose an item.
I will definitely go back and recommend the restaurant to anyone! It is a must!
I love love love this place, the food is delicious the staff is awesome. The only thing I would like to see them change is the decor an the main entry way other than that I recommend this restaurant to friends & family.
Lovely! It's packed on Tuesday for the filet minion special, but still quite romantic. Has a great beer and wine selection.
My Birthday Dinner - Great Time!. Some good friends of mine wanted to celebrate my birthday by going out to eat at an Indy restaurant. The place was my choice. I didn't hesitate: Marco's!
I've eaten at Marco's more than any other restaurant except, perhaps, Bazbeaux Pizza downtown.
The food was delicious...everyone enjoyed their meals except one person who ordered a fish special.
I especially enjoy Marco's steaks, cooked to perfection. Most of the main dishes come with soup, salad, bread, and the main dish. (So be careful and don't overdo it on the bread.)
Our server was very personable and provided excellent service despite having to make several drink runs. Fortunately I've never been served by the nasty hostess that several reviewers on various websites mention. =)
It's true that the best night for a bargain is Tuesday Night, Cheap Meat Night. But for any other night I don't mind paying a little more for quality food, great service, and a good time.
I should add that I always ask for the Lounge. One time we had to eat in the dining room and it wasn't nearly as much fun.
If you are ever in the mood for a quiet lunch in a quiet little joint then by all means get to Marco’s; it’s over on 54th street just west of Keystone. It’s been around for over 20 years, and the food is more than reasonably priced. The dining room has a certain old school charm;a place to take a special honey, not an old college pal.And the money you save could go towards a real hotel room;not some no tell motel.Well enough of the fantasy;back to the food. All the specials come with bread and salad for under 8 bucks. In the case of the grilled orange roughy a side veggie is included.Pat thought it was very tasty; especially when he stuck it in one of the baguettes they serve.Sometimes a fella needs a samich.Their VOD didn’t trip his trigger so he opted for cottage cheese; now what can you say about cottage cheese? As for my chicken parmesan it was pretty good.A good sized rarebit dish filled with pasta tossed in a decent sauce ,topped with a grilled breast ,smothered with mozz and the whol

It’s kind of an old-school Italian restaurant complete with dim lighting, candles on the tables, lots of wood paneling, leather booths, etc.
It had been about 2 years since we at here. Came around 630pm in a Saturday got right in was not too crowded. Cocktails were good. A little over kill with the soup and salad before dinner had to bring half of my entree home. Everyone enjoyed what they ordered
Great steak special on Tuesdays! 6oz with soup and side for $12. Great French onion soup and cozy lounge/bar area
I absolutely love Marcos! I have been going to this place for years. Every one of my new friends love it when I take them there, as well. The food is awesome, the service is absolutely wonderful, and the atmosphere cannot be beat. I celebrated my birthday there last night and left my phone. It was left at the bar for me to pick up later. Please, do yourself a favor and try out this wonderful establishment!
This restaurant/lounge is a new old found love. The service has been hands down the best in the city. The drinks are very well crafted. The food is amazing, consistent and prepared with class and style. We will continue to support this lovely locally owned restaurant/lounge.
We have had a wonderful experience every single time we have eaten here. Great specials on food and drinks every day of the week, delicious bread and salad with each entree. Friendly staff, cozy atmosphere. Highly recommend. Unfortunately people just don't hear anything about the place.
Nice ambiance and delicious food! The chicken oscar was amazing! My husband and our friend both had the filet and were very happy with their choice! Looking forward to another return visit!
Absolutely amazing!! Even the gentleman bussing tables was amazing!! We had Sean as our server and he was attentive but never over bearing! He held great conversation and even let me test two of the draft beers I've never had before!! The Dragonfly IPA is AMAZING by the way!! Dinner was ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS!! Thank you so much for making us feel like the only guests in the restaurant!
Always a wonderful experience at Marco’s. The food is fabulous and prices are reasonable. A most pleasant atmosphere.
The owner goes out of his way to make sure everything is just right. I wish I could remember the name of our waitress. She has been there for many years and has some great stories.
Everything about Marco’s is first class. I can’t say enough good things about this classic Italian restaurant! Bravo!!
I love this restaurant. I do not go often but it is not part of a chain and their food is wonderful. It has changed ownership since it was first opened, but I think the torch was passed cleanly. Tuesday steak night special can not be missed. Enjoy.
This restaurant is always great! I’m a fan of the salmon piccata dish blackened. Brussel sprouts are tart with a lemon taste and still crisp. Bradley the owner is wonderful and all servers are great. You can’t beat this local gem!
Have not been in town on a Tuesday for 13+ years and was able to get my entire family to gather. I was so ecstatic that nothing has changed. The meal was fabulous, service was great! Some things have changed, but my filet was wonderful.
This has always been a gem in the Indianapolis community - and continues to be so. The food is excellent and the service is always friendly. Try their roasted red pepper soup if they have it - or their stuffed peppers (seasonal only).
Highly recommended place!
Have never had a bad meal, drink or experience in my almost 20 years of visits. You will more than likely leave full and often with leftovers. Good for small groups families and couples.
We loved it. From the mozzarella appetizer, to the table bread, to the mixed drinks, to the soup AND salad, to the entrees, to the service! All of it was wonderful. I wish we had tried it long before now.
Food was very good. Service was excellent but we were there when they just opened. Warm and friendly staff. Very comfortable atmosphere.
Cozy comfortable reliable Marcos.
Ordered my usual filet...cooked perfectly as usual . Vegetable beef soup very good.
Tilapia good also.
Bartenders great as usual.
Can get loud on a weekend after 6.
No longer do lunches.
Like the bar area due to no kids running around.
