No pictures yet. I have been going to 'Patties' since 2002. The only time I have been disappointed was when they ran out of a food I was craving. Every visit is a delight. The patties to me are the best in Indianapolis light and flavorful. The light oven baked wings are an excellent accompaniment. The curry chicken, goat or oxtail stew is always very very good, with small pieces of potatoes or butter beans in the stew or curry very nice indeed. You will love this little gem on the near North side of Indy.
I have been eating here for 30 years. Stefan and my children are about the same age, and have grown up together. Henry and the culture of Jamaican food that he brought to Indy are unique and second to none. The food here is magnificent. Many Jamaican eateries have come and gone in Indy over the years, but none could come close to the quality and taste of Patties of Jamaica.
Thank you Henry, Thank you Stefan, Thank you everyone there that has made this eatery an Indianapolis institution.
Viva Patties of Jamaica!
If you don't know now you do. This place is Indianapolis. Best patties and the sauce bang!!!!! Anyone on here that gave a bad review just doesn't understand what they are doing. Go get some patties my friends
My family loves this place Mon. You have to get some frozen patties to go to cook at home Mon. I even got it catered at work. The owner are super nice. Im coming thus weekend to get some more!
Wonderful Find. After returning from Negril last week, I have been searching for a spot with authentic curried goat and Jamaican patties. Here I found both! I showed up at 10:15am, so they were barely open, but they provided a box full of patties, a fresh loaf of bread, and curried goat with rice and peas for less than $20! The food was spicy, but not too much so, and the bread was fresh out of the oven and just nothing short of wonderful. The place is small, but perfect for carryout, and the people were very kind. The hot sauce was also exactly how I remembered. A little gem that is tucked away off of Allisonville, take the time to find it! Authentic and tasty, quick and cheap. Extremely happy right now!
Weak, they didn't even have rice & peas or chicken or veggie patties. Went to another spot not too far away and it was the real deal.
Best I have had, and I have had them in Jamaica. The service is a plus. You will feel like you have been going for years. The hot sauce is great, creeping up on you. Pastry is delicate and the filling keeps you wanting more. Plus you can get to go and cook them at home for the same taste! Favorite local spot.
Buttery Rich Pastry Filled With Island Spice Ground Beef. That's all you need. Simple and Perfect. Go; Its Cheap, Basic and Good. Oh, Don't expect to sit there and eat ( too small ) and don't forget the hot sauce.
Amazing. I moved to Detroit and want to know if they deliver, ship, or mail. I will do anything to get Patties of Jamaica into my home. Anything. Please, open a branch up here.
Let's start of by saying I have been to Jamaica and there patties can't hold a candle this place. How many restaurants do you know that sell there main attraction frozen in the store and when you cook it at home it is just as good. The amazing thing is I have be going to this place for 15 plus years and was happy just ordering patties when one of my friends talked me into trying the backed chicken. It has a flavor that I have not found at any other establishment. I warn you not to try it if you have a local chicken shack that you love ( you will not go back). There is a down side only two tables to eat at and they close early and are not open on Sunday's.

Yummm. Hit the spot. I will be going there again. Maybe next time the patties will make it home to share with the family.
Only place I know of in Indy to get a pattie. Yummy flavors of the caribbean.
One of my favorite places!. I have been going to Patties of Jamaica ever since I was a young girl. Not only are their patties delicious but the owner and staff are the most friendly people you will ever come across! You can't help but smile when you're in this cozy little eatery! Everyone MUST experience a Patties of Jamaica beef patty at least once in their life : )
1 patty is not enough. In town for business and our office is nearby. I went to do a search of everything nearby for lunch and Patties showed up with a 97% rating. How could I pass on that? I had their curried chicken and a patty. I should have gotten 2, 3 or 9 patties. Very good and the owner/staff was helpful in helping me make my decision. I will be going back for sure the next time I am in town.
Worth a try. I picked up a couple of the standard beef patties for under $2.50 total. The crust reminded me of a pot pie, warm and flaky. The filling was good, but I couldn't tell what kind of seasonings they might use. By the time I had finished my two patties, I was wishing that I had picked up a few more because I was still a bit hungry and was craving this newfound delicious snack.
The wife and I came out to Patties of Jamaica and had the patties and rice and peas. Everything was great. They were out of practically everything else though (potato salad, cole slaw). It is a small place. Dont expect sufficient seating but if you are looking for a great, cheap, quick eats this place was great.
Patties. I have known this family for a very long time. Over 20 years, love them. Food is great !! If you have not tried this place you need to
If you haventa had da patties, you haven't lived. For real though, the patties are amazing.
Fabulous Find!. What a fabulous find! The jamaican patties are awesome. Take some home, throw em in the oven and enjoy! Great w/ a lil hot sauce! The daily baked bread is like no other! Get some if they haven't sold out for the day. The staff/owner is VERY friendly. Great cheap eats!! Make sure you give them a try!!
Don’t be fooled by the meager atmosphere and the two tables; it’s all about the patties which are traditional to Jamaica, just as burgers are to America. It’s a quick fix and a tasty deal, especially if you’re on a budget. Say ‘hello’ to Stefan while you’re there. His parents moved from Jamaica to be here in Indiana with his mother’s family during the economic hardships of the 1970s – and of course humbly brought with them the patties of Jamaica. And we’re glad they did!
I implore you to find this little restaurant. It is well worth the effort. These are the nicest people and some of the best food we have encountered on our food adventures. You’ll leave with a full belly and a big smile that lasts all day. You’ll probably even leave with your very own bag of patties.
Authentic food worth of being noticed in this day of fast food and franchise restaurants.
The dough is the real recipe; made by hand daily.
Finally was able to try this local favorite and was not disappointed. The beef patties were amazing, although I think a creamy sauce and some hot sauce elevates them even higher. The rice was really tasty too and the chicken was moist and fell right off the bone. Eaten with a grape Faygo on the side, can't top that. I'll definitely be back and next time will likely be taking some frozen patties to go.

I ate 3 of those Jamaican patties with some peach Nestea. Didn’t fill me up, but it did a good job of keeping my stomach satisfied. Friendly guy took our order (he is probably also the owner) and I hear he’s been in business for decades. If I lived in Indianapolis I’d grab my lunch from here at least once a week. I took today’s to a park and enjoyed the shade and breeze. Perfect day! Not sure who the guy in the picture is on their wall, but he looks like a cool dude. Maybe the original owner?
Hands down the nicest owners you’ll meet. Stefan and family make your trip in always personable, and the patties are always amazing. Chicken is great too. Can’t beat the price for the quality. I’ve stopped in dozens of times and will drive out of my way to give them my business anytime.
I love this restaurant. Small menu but everything on it is amazing. Of course the patties are not to be missed. From the moment you walk into the door you can tell this is not just a career but a passion for the owner and always greets you with a smile. Do yourself a favor a grab some patties either fresh or frozen or both because they're delicious!!!
The hot is preferable to mild. Easy to buy frozen and bake off at home in regular or toaster oven. Great bar food. Love to serve to friends with sweet potato salad and hot sauce selection. 3 or 4 is a meal.
I love this place. The food is great! I have been going here for several years, and I have to say that the patties are horrible now. 🤮 There's hardly ANY meat in them, and they taste like DOUGH!😡 I WAS SO disappointed. I don't know when I'll buy any again. 👎 Whomever is making, needs to get it right or just find another job. PERIOD 👎👎
Authentic Jamaican patties, I actually like these better than the ones I got in Jamaica! Stephon uses an age-old recipe passed down. Give this spot a try for quick delicious patties.
Primarily take away the Jamaican Patties are fantastic. Delicious meat pies you will want to try. This cute small local establishment has a small menu, but everything is yummy. I suggest 3-4 patties per person.
This is a small business but they have a large following. The food is great! Their Jamaican Patties come in mild or spicy. I've had both. Usually get the mild but they run out quickly. When that happens, I'm happy to go with the spicy ones. I just recently realized that they also offer chicken wings. They are extremely tasty so now I get both. Its a small place. They used to have a booth but now I think we all just get take out. Peter, the owner, is a wonderful person. He was trained by his father and is carrying on the tradition. They have frozen patties as well that you can take home for later. We're lucky, we live within walking distance. We've been going there since the mid 80's. Enjoy!
