Sahara Restaurant is surprisingly good! I'd recommend it to fans of Greek food.
Food:
The food is fresh and tasty! My wife and I have had hummus (which comes with pita), falafel sandwiches, and gyro sandwiches. The pita with the hummus is very fluffy and soft, while still a little crispy from being on the grill for a bit. The hummus had some fresh olive oil and a sprinkle of spices on top. This was also my first falafel sandwich, but not my first taste of falafel. Falafel is typically fairly band, but this had slightly more flavor than normal falafel, it was definitely the best falafel I have had, and it sandwich form, it was amazing. The gyro is on par with the best gyros I have ever had. I also had the first authentic baklava I have ever had at this restaurant, and it was an interesting and tasty dessert.
Service:
The service was very friendly and reasonably fast.
Atmosphere:
The store felt nice. It was a nice place for a date night with my wife, and the atmosphere did a good job at playing the part to set the mood to a relaxing evening.
Great food, great people. Mohammed and Zain do a fantastic job with the hospitality every time my Wife and I bring our Indy family here. We visit from Florida every year and make this an annual visit
I came here with my family and I have nothing but good things to say about Sahara. Abu Hamza and his staff made the experience amazing. From the fresh tea at the start to the tabouli and falafel, everything we ordered was delicious. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for fresh, authentic Mediterranean food!
I rarely leave reviews, but this was the best dining experience I have ever had. Both the food and service were impeccable. My partner and I were genuinely moved to tears at how amazing the experience was. The owner was very kind and brought us complimentary tea and even a free dessert. We could taste the amount of love and care put into the food. We will definitely be back :)
They make the BEST hummus on earth! My husband isn't a fan of hummus, but his plate came with some and he ended up getting more to go. The rice was also amazing. We were pleasantly surprised. I would have liked to have some paper straws to drink my soda, but other than that, everything was pretty awesome..
the chef made us tea just because! very sweet place, but we were the only ones there since most other people ordered takeout.
This place is perfect! The person serving us was so kind it made my heart warm. Even gave us a free sweet treat while we waited for our To Go order to be ready! We will be eating here many times in the future!!
I LOVE this place. The owners are super friendly and kind every time. Food is always good! My go-to is the gyros platter or sandwich. One of my favorite restaurants in broad ripple (-:
I have only had lovely experiences dining at Sahara. The owner is so warm and kind-- he brought us complimentary tea service and dessert! The falafal is delicious. I'll be back!
Food here was awesome - we had the marinated lamb and gyro sandwiches. I went here with my little sibs and they were impressed. The Turkish tea was served in a beautiful kettle. The waiter was a little confused but I guess he was new.
The food is super delicious, the taste is exquisite and it feels very homemade. The attention is very friendly, they are extremely attentive and polite. It's really an excellent place to enter the world of Mediterranean food. Come and try if you live close.
Loved this Greek restaurant! Staff is so sweet and the food was good. Will be back for more tabbouleh and gyros. Staff brought us Turkish tea!!

One of the best restaurants in Indy!! Best food and incredible costumer service. If you are looking for authentic Arabic food this is the place for you. The owner is truly one of the best people I have met. And the restaurant is clean and cozy.
They had the most amazing food, we got the gyro plate and the kebab platter. Then, it started pouring outside, and one of the many extremely kind workers came and gave us tea to wait out. HIGHLY recommend the Turkish tea, it was delicious!
Absolutely delicious! The guy that owns it was so nice. He brought me a delicious dessert (I ordered the baklava) and he brought me fresh hot tea! Must try this place!
Made it a point to stop in here after I heard some great reviews by word of mouth. I wasn't disappointed. The staff treated us like friends and made sure we had everything we needed for our take out order. The gyro was a large and flavorful portion, and I even got to try some falafel and baklava while I was there. Delicious! The welcoming environment was reason enough to come back, and the food sealed the deal. Will definitely be coming back.
This restaurant turned out to be a very pleasant dining experience for my family. The vegetarian platter is a great assortment of items that is large enough for two people to share. The gyro is huge and the fries are delicious. Now, the tea service is presented very well. Turkish tea is pleasant and the server add rosewater to the tea. Fragrant and tasty. My daughter even enjoyed two cups! The ambience was neat, half booth with decorative pillows. One of the hidden gems in the city.
We are from out of town visiting family and they brought us here for dinner. All the food was delicious! I tried a little bit of everyone's. We got the veggie platter, gyro plate, Mansaf, and Sahara Mixed Grill. The Mansaf was cooked to perfection. The lamb fell right off the bone. It was so good. We also had the tea and Turkish coffee which were excellent as well.
