I have been there twice. Awesome place, excellent service and food. Great accommodation I ordered Hamburgers and Shoestring fries it was delish.
I had a gluten free bison burger with Gouda - build your own. Pretty good start, but gluten bun just fell apart... Disappointing. Had also ordered park fries, and it was too cheesy for my liking - like 50% cheese, 50% shoestring fries. Not balanced.
Ok place, not sure it's worth the crazy high reviews.
Spot on good burger joint! I had the do-your-own and wanted a healthier version..so I packed my medium 1/3 lb. beef with assorted greens, roasted baby tomatoes, quinoa, olives, peppers, bleu cheese. Had custom made shake and the combination of coffee, nutella and salted pretzel was sinful and decadent.Service was quick and efficient..parking available. Keep up the good work!
Amazing!
This is coming from someone who doesn't usually like burgers. My husband and I went to the counter after wanting something "different", we looked on Zamato and HE chose the Counter. I wasn't all that trilled but why not as I didn't have any ideas of where else to go. The Counter was busy (a good sign) even so, we were seated fairly quickly, the server gave us the run down on how to order and then we chose our burgers, I chose the bison with thousand island dressing, provolone cheese, pickles and French fries. I also ordered garlic fries on the side. It took a little bit to get our food which was why I couldn't rate it a 5. Once I got my burger and took my first bite I was done, I did not put it down, it was delicious! I ate it all within minutes (terrible I know) and even pondered ordering a second, had I not believed I would have made myself sick I would have ordered a the second burger. So instead of ordering another burger I decided to stick with my fries which were quite delicious as well, I ate them all too. I left stuffed and very happy. We will be going back. Thank you for the best burger I have had in my lifetime.
Jeff Weinstein opened The Counter in Santa Monica, CA in 2003 as one of the first premium burger joints. Since then, The Counter has opened 39 locations including The Counter in the Woodbury Town Center in Irvine. This location opened on November 20, 2007 and is still going strong with a queue of hungry patrons during the lunch hour. Ralphs is the main anchor to this shopping center, but in the middle of the parking lot, is an island of food choices like Panera, Tutti Frutti, Niko Niko, to name a few. The Counter stands out with their diner look and aroma of burgers being grilled.
Amazing burger joint. If you've never been, this place is definitely worth checking out. You can build pretty much any burger you can imagine. Good service, nice atmosphere, and a lot of different items to chose from. Also really good milkshakes!

Burger madness!. I first ate at the Counter in northern ca. I was happy to stumble on one down here and have to say I really love the place. The customizability and options for the menu really allow you to make any type of burger you want. Filling it out on the table pads honestly makes ordering so much simpler because the staff would probably have trouble with so many custom orders.
Overall the burgers are really good. The service at this location was ok but could of been better. It has a good looking bar and the drinks are reasonably priced. I would definitely recommend this joint to anyone looking for a good burger. You will not be disappointed.
Great burgers, fries, onion rings. Only complaint is that the buns are too small for all the toppings you can put on the burger
Huge, towering burgers. It doesn't matter what you put into your burger at the Counter - although the end result may be a surprise, it's never disappointing. I love that you get to select every detail of your burger. They are meticulously built: the meat patty is different from other stores'... they are rich in flavor and are freshly made. The bread is toasted. They heap on generous amounts of lettuce and tomato, and the cheese gives it an extra punch! While it is too expensive for a casual lunch, The Counter is fit for some big-time burger connoisseurs! Kudos to the workers for being able to build such a huge burger without having it topple over. I imagine it may be like playing Jenga.
Yumm! Great place for a burger and a beer!
What a burger joint!. This place is great! Love the choose your own toppings and sauces for your burger concept. The sweet potatoe fries are great, so are the onion shreds.
Love the idea of no oversold american beers (that is right No Coors, No Bud, No Miller)- finally a eating establishment with real taste in brew.
Excellent burgers with lot of options. The employees there are funny and took care of us.
Stacked Burgers!!. I have a ball at this place customizing my burgers. I like the beef thick and heavy, loaded with all sorts of condiments, and no one to frown upon me as I proudly pig out on my masterpiece.
Great interior/exterior setting, extremely friendly/courteous staff, beer/wine bar, LCDs, and plenty of parking.
One suggestion: Could use better sauce options.
The place rules!
Better Burgers. In a very attractive setting, with a very attentive staff, unbelievably fabulous, adventurous burgers! Reluctant to share this jewel because it will be harder to get in!!!
I ask ya, who in the world does not love a great grilled burger?!!

I would have to say yes and no. Yes because it can be a little overwhelming and no because there is something for everyone. Recently we were able to visit The Counter in Irvine. They are a burger "chain" with headquarters in Culver City. The one we visite
The Counter is one of those places that you always hear about. I have actually been here one time before, but this was before I started my blog. I had been meaning to come back sooner and blog about it, but the opportunity had never come up, until now. We have really been on a burger kick lately. We have been to Slater's 50/50, Five Guys, Bravo Burger, and Fuddrucker's within the last month, so it was the perfect time for us to compare The Counter to the other burgers. The Counter has been around since 2003. Since that time, they have expanded to nine other states, and even opened restaurants in Ireland. Their next wave of expansion is taking them to the Middle East, where they plan on having three units in operation by the end of the year. There has to be a reason for all of this expansion, let's see if it is the food. We arrived at The Counter at six on a Wednesday night. I was expecting a wait, but we were sat right away. The decor here
So the day has come, we finally made it to The Counter! I’ve heard so much about this burger joint. After all the fanfare from their Santa Monica start, to their launch in Orange County, I was expecting to have to wait 30 minutes to be seated. But fortuna
The hardest thing about eating at The Counter is creating the burger itself. You can spend a good half hour or more trying to decide what to put between the buns. There’s a dozen cheeses to choose from, half a dozen buns, different meats, and the add-ons are endless. The second hardest thing is eating the damn thing. It’s HUGE! Watch the video and you’ll see.
I usually love this place. Not sure what happened today. Ordered online for pickup. Decided to sit at the bar and order a drink while I wait for my pickup order. Place had very few customers. They must have forgotten about the drink and online order completely. Took so long that I canceled the drink and asked for my online order which apparently had already been ready for a while. Other than that staff is nice. I usually love this place.
I recently visited The Counter Park Place restaurant and I have to say, I was blown away by the quality of the food. Although I had been to this location before about 6 or 7 years ago, I was excited to give it another try. And I'm so glad I did!
Although the burgers are a bit on the pricier side, the quality of the meat is exceptional. As someone who always loves to create their own meal, I was thrilled to see that The Counter offered a create your own burger menu. I decided to go for the Organic Bison as my protein and opted for a 1/2 lb size. I chose a Brioche bun and topped it with American cheese, and selected extra cheese for good measure. For sauce and dressing, I went with a combination of Thousand Islands and Mayo, which was absolutely delicious.
For toppings, I went with Caramelized Onions, Dill Pickles, and Roasted Grape Tomatoes, and also added Guacamole as a premium topping. The combination of flavors was incredible and everything tasted so fresh.
To accompany my burger, I ordered the Sweet Potato Fries, which were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. They were the perfect side to go along with my delicious burger.
Overall, I highly recommend The Counter Park Place restaurant for anyone who loves a good burger. The quality of the ingredients and the attention to detail in the menu options make this restaurant stand out from the rest. I will definitely be visiting this restaurant again in the near future!
here is what I got
1. Protein: Organic Bison
2. Size: 1/2 lb
3. Style: Brioche
4. Cheese: American
EXTRA CHEESE (SELECTED)
5. Sauce, Dressing: Thousand Islands, Mayo
6. Toppings: Caramelized Onions, Dill Pickles, Roasted Grape Tomatoes
7. Premium toppings: Guacamole
8. Side: Sweet Potato Fries
Wow, there were so many free options to customize my burger!.. With different burger types, like bison, and some cheeses at additional charge. There was so many other burgers, sandwiches, sides, and shakes to choose from. Overwhelmed by the selections available, I decided my first try should just be a margarita and cheeseburger on the regular menu. My burger was perfect medium rare, juicy, and trimmings so fresh. French fries were deliciously crisp and hot. My margarita was Perfect, Perfect, Perfect! The drink price was almost half compared to other OC restaurants, and it wasn't even happy hour yet... I would have gladly paid more for my perfect drink! The hostess seated me right away, drink came in 10 minutes and lunch at 20 minutes, and manager checked in to see if I was enjoying my meal. Friendly and attentive staff was very good. Definitely coming back to this gem.
Good service. I ended up coming here because the Postino wait was too long. I was surprised by how good the burger ended up being. Pleasant surprise after the terrible burger I had at Hangar 24 a few weeks ago. Relish and Bourbon BBQ sauce were not my cup of tea at all. Gross.
Had a great experience here. Aside from meats and cheeses, all other toppings are available free of charge. There are many exciting options ranging from croutons to eggs. The 1 lb burger turned out to just be two half pound patties, which is not as exciting but definitely better for the flavor.
The downside to this was parking, the night we went and time the parking lot was a disaster. We ended up parking in the structure which was packed as well due to the attached gym.
The burgers here are solid as well as their chicken sandwich. The fries are skinny but they do have an option for tator tots. Service was spot on and order came out quick. They have a full bar and specialty drinks as well.
First impression; they sat us at a booth, cushion was torn (see picture). Menu is a bit overwhelming, strawberry lemonade is delicious. Waiter was quick to refill drinks. For a burger joint, food took longer than expected, now I am full from my second lemonade. Burger was good.
Delicious burgers and amazing service. We come here whenever we crave burgers.
Tasty! A little slow service but burger was solid. I prefer my burger a little greasier and a little more “worked in” with the ingredients fused together but nevertheless, this is a solid burger. Good ingredients, condiments, sauces, infinite choices really.
That bacon onion jam thing was 🔥
The best burger ever. Really high quality one.
I recently had a great lunch at The Counter. The chicken wings was delicious, juicy and flavorful. The service provided was attentive and friendly, creating a welcoming atmosphere. The overall dining experience was fantastic, and I highly recommend The Counter for a satisfying meal.
Visiting from Dallas. The food was delicious. I would definitely eat there again next time I visit Orange County.
We received excellent service here. The ability to customize your burger is awesome. And with additional patty options, the higher price makes it a viable option. I tried the impossible burger and despite the extra cost, it was delicious!
