Chai Lan has firmly secured its place as one of my all-time favorite restaurants. Its convenient hours of operation, from 11 am to 9:30 pm, make it accessible for a wide range of dining occasions. During my recent visit, the food was nothing short of exceptional. The Black Bean Sauce Noodle was a delightful blend of flavors, the Spicy Seafood Noodle Soup packed a spicy punch, and the Stir Fry Flank Steak with Onions was an absolute star. The accompanying buns with savory brown sauce added a perfect finishing touch to the meal. What's particularly impressive about Chai Lan is its popularity, which is evident as the restaurant remains bustling well into the night. Its warm and welcoming ambiance, coupled with a diverse menu, makes it an ideal choice for families and friends alike. Whether it's a casual lunch or a family dinner, Chai Lan caters to a variety of dining needs. It's not surprising that this restaurant has swiftly become a personal favorite, and I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone in search of a memorable dining experience. Be sure to book a table in advance, as Chai Lan's popularity is well-deserved and reservations are highly recommended!

I placed the order right when they open, the lady on the phone told me 30 minutes, as i got there, i waited an additional 10 minutes on so, but it's worth the wait. I like the black beans noodle and the sweet and sour pork they made here.

If you want some delicious “Korean-Chinese food”, try No.15. It’s chicken, crispy outside & tender inside with sweet & garlic flavor. Strongly recommended. Noodles are not as great as their other menu.

Korean-Chinese food! I had the jjajangmyun and the fried sweet and sour pork and was impressed with both, especially the light, crispy batter on the pork. Should explore the menu further, though.

I am new to the area. I was craving for Korean Chinese and found this restaurant. Today I finally brought my family and got these three dishes. We all like them. Frankly I did not have high expectations. Now it is our go to Korean Chinese restaurant. Can't wait to try other dishes on the menu!

Great Korean-Chinese food. The food is flavorful and not too greasy. I loved all the dishes. The staff were attentive. The decor is pretty modern. Some of the dishes are spicy. It's a casual place. Sometimes there is a wait.

A day without our child…why not have an impromptu date?! We were in the area furniture shopping when the munchies crept up on us. We wanted something fast and close by and Chinese (hubz is Chinese and Irvine has a lot of Chinese restaurants). Cue Chai Lan. At first we were a little confused by the Korean…and then saw Chinese character on the menu. We failed to see it was Korean-ish Chinese food. Definitely not a bad spin. Everything about this place was cute. It was a nice day out, the service was amazing (you deserve 6 stars), and the food was yum yum good. We got 炸酱面. I think they translated it to noodles in black bean sauce. This was super taster and definitely recommend this dish. We also got 锅包肉. I like 东北菜 (northeastern Chinese cuisine), but this was a little off for my taste. Though, still good. Everyone of the servers were amazing. Smiles. Checking in. Asking if we need anything. More kimchi. For a lunch spot, they took care of their patrons, which made the food experience that much better. This is another definite must try. We’ll be back!

Found my new local go-to Chinese-Korean food joint. The jjajangmyun is so good, a little on the sweeter side but still has the strong jjajang flavor, lots of chunky onions and huge bits of meat. The sweet and sour pork was also good, perfectly fried. I asked them for a side of jjamppong soup and they happily provided it. I saw a bad review of the fried dumplings but the last time I had them, they were amazing. It's hard to find dumplings that are fried but still juicy inside. Most importantly, every time I go I see several tables of middle-aged Korean people eating and drinking which is always a good sign. I've only ordered takeout from here but I'd love to go back soon to dine-in and have some soju with all the yummy food!

I visited many restaurant to find delicious Spicy seafood noodle soup and I finally found this restaurants. Even though this restaurants is a far from my house I will visit this restaurants to have the Spice seafood noodle. One more thing, I don't know why other people gave low rate to this restaurant. Somebody said service was bad. However, staffs are so so kind.

My town does not have a full service Korean-Chinese restaurant, so whenever I have an opportunity to come to LA/OC/Irvine area, I go for one of the popular Korean-Chinese restaurants. Chai Lan offered a great customer service, tasty collection of Korean-Chinese dishes, and my family thoroughly enjoyed different noodles as well as meat dishes. I would definitely come back the next time I am in Irvine area.

The restaurant is very clean. I came here a lot and I realized that every time I go there the food tastes different. Sometimes it's a bit soggy and sometimes not enough seasonings. The service is always nice and asks you if you need anything.

Giving this place 5 stars for probably the fastest service I ever had. The free side dishes run out? Bam, have another pile tossed onto your table. I had my back to the restaurant but I have to imagine the wait staff practically sprinting with how fast our food came out and our table's needs were met. I actually found the black bean noodles kind of plain but I ate so many pickled radishes that I have no complaints. I can't wait to go back the next time I'm in the area.

My goto chinese in Cali. Always busy, but every customer receives friendly and top-notch service. Food tastes great, reasonably-priced with ample portions. Rare to find all three in Cali. The best.
