I have eaten at Oishii about a year ago, and never found the need to return. Recently some friends of mine went and raved about the fact the restaurant was now serving Ramen. This is pretty scarce in Jacksonville, and when the need arrives, which is often I travel down to the beach to Tomo Japanese Restaurant. It always pleases. I looked at the pictures my friends had posted and decided it was time for a trip back to Oishii.
Great Sushi Lunch. You cannot beat the lunch specials, especially the sushi which is very good. Service is excellent and this has become our new favorite sushi place. The dynamite roll is the best.. Though I love this place, the hibachi lunch could use a little more flavor but it is hardly dissapointing.
Oishii is amazing by all standards... Amazing sushi, beyond exceptional customer service, and beautiful presentation... I will be coming here on a weekly basis! This sushi house is one of the best in the area!
Very friendly staff. Drinks were refilled frequently and we were checked on multiple times. We DID sit in the booth close to the sushi bar, so it WAS inevitable we were checked on-- but I can say I watched them check on everyone else equally as much. The sushi was fresh and tasted great! Im ecstatic about the wednesday special: Rolls that are typically upwards of $5 were only $3.95. My Husband and I appreciated that. His normal portions are large so being able to order a higher qty while still remaining cost effective was wonderful! Overall, this place was great and the food was tasty. We'll be coming here again!
The best recommendation: Oishi Grill - Fresh with great service . . .. We've visited Oishii several times and each time the sushi tasted very fresh and came well presented. Oishii has special dishes and unique appetizers combined with a great atmosphere. One appetizer we loved was the Seared White Tuna Tataki. The other was Seared Scallops where each piece came served on top of a slice of kiwi. The Sashimi Appetizer is served on crushed ice so your sashimi stays nice and cool. To top everything off, the server provides extremely good service and always has a big, natural smile. We highly recommend you try this wonderful, small and romantic restaurant which clearly stand out as one of our favorite Japanese Fusion establishments in Jacksonville.

I looked through reviews in search of a new Sushi place as the quality of our favorites have gone down. So gave Oichii a try. We like it so much I had to sign up and do a review! I'm impressed with the freshness of the seafood and quality of their food. They use expensive white pearl rice... the best I've ever had. All the sushi is great. Try the scallop on kiwi appetizer delish! It's great to see enthusiastic and conscientious owners. Nice atmosphere and clean. Service is great... give them a try.
Oh my goodness, This place is AWESOME! I've been almost 5 times already and every time the food was fresh & tasty! The servers were friendly and every thing was incredibly clean! I've taken a few friends here & they are hooked! This, by far, is the best Sushi place in Jacksonville. You won't regret eating here!

Wow... What can we say about this restaurant? Nice vibe, sweet people... No judging... Smiles, helpful and welcoming. We are so happy to find a place we can be regulars at again so we can give good money to. Hope that the word gets out fast. They have a variety to choose from and aren't just the normal same old rolls. They spend the extra to have different soy paper, and different fish eggs. Obviously, we are sushi whores, and can't get enough of how this place loves to please.
Looking for hibachi and sushi, this is the place for you.. SOOOO GOOD!! I went to Supercuts next door for a haircut, and just on a whim stopped in for lunch. I am so glad I did. The food was delicious, the service was excellent, and I'm going back to get their Oishii roll next time. (I don't really like sushi either, but it was really good).
Food was very Delicious, waitress was pleasant the place was very clean and food was fresh atmosphere very nice we do plan to come back.

I have had my share of Sushi and become loyal to a place if it gets me the first time. Let me tell you - this place has it all!! Great service, amazing atmosphere and a chef that really knows his stuff. You'll get a sample of something every time and it's always to die for (sometimes not even on the menu!) My husband and I stumbled on it by accident and came back three days in a row! Highly recommended!

Best damn sushi place in town!!!!! Had most of their rolls, and all are AMAZING! my wife have been 3 days in a row. They just opened and I seriously see this place becoming a staple of food on southside! Good eating!
New Modern sushi hot spot! Was looking around urbanspoon for a new place to try out and this place popped up. It's located in the spot where Yo Sushi used to be right next to GameStop. Fresh atmosphere, friendly staff and a wide variety of fish with higher quality cuts that aren't offered at most sushi places in Jax.

This was my first visit to Oishii, but my husband's second. It has only been open less than a week. It is in the same location that once occupied Yo Sushi, which went out of business. The entire place has been gutted and redesigned with a beautiful new modern interior. The menu is pretty expansive, but offers typical favorites as well as special sushi rolls. We tried the Pink Lady and Dragon roll's. Both were very fresh and tasted great. Our server brought us a couple of pieces of their house special Oishii roll, which were my favorite. My husband had a tuna and asparagus appetizer (the name escapes me at the moment). He's had it twice now and raved about it both times. I had the Hibachi filet & shrimp, cooked to order. My only disappointment was that they didn't have the traditional ginger sauce (only the shrimp sauce), but they said they'd prepare it in the future. They also do not have the traditional clear broth soup with the mushrooms and onions, but their Miso was quite tasty even though I'm not usually a fan. They carry a higher quality of sushi than most places in town, so if you're looking to try something new and are a sushi connoisseur, then give this place a try. The staff is also very friendly and attentive.
My friends have recommended this place for years, and it did not disappoint either time I've ordered from them. They offer quite a variety of Asian cuisine. I personally recommend the hibachi dinners although I have tried the chicken katsu (pictured) as well. Online ordering is a breeze, and they sometimes offer free appetizers or desserts when ordering online. I will be back!
I genuinely wake up every morning and question how and why this place could be this amazing. It feels as though that every time I come here, I’ve been blessed by the spirits of sushi. This place is too good. Its service is incredibly friendly and accommodating. Their food is spectacular and cleverly designed. With a large and unique menu, you really can’t go wrong. This place is absolutely amazing and it is definitely worth everything. The ambience and vibes of the restaurant is very down to earth and welcoming. I love their pusheen t-shirts. Absolutely amazing, every single time. Thank you to the staff and service! Amazing!
This was our second time coming here and we love it here. The staff is friendly and efficient. It’s clean and food is really good. I had their Rock n Roll sushi and my husband had their sesame chicken hibachi meal. Hibachi meal was a big portion and very delicious. When we were paying they gave us tempura Oreos on the house. It was very good and nice of them.
Friday night dinner before movie. Started off with shrimp Tempura roll. For Mains, we ordered the pork katsu curry rice and hibachi chicken with noodles instead of fried rice. Enjoyed everything. Katsu was perfectly fried and the noodles were flavorful and not dry. Even gave us a complimentary fried Oreos for dessert. Great service too.
Overall I really enjoyed this place. The atmosphere was really chill and calm. The server was nice and took care of everything. The food was great and it all tasted really good.
Perfect lunch experience, had the chirashi today for lunch which is a great deal. Everything was fresh and the staff was fantastic! Would highly recommend!
Great food and they give you a lots of food at a reasonable price. The miso soup was the best I've ever tried. It wasn't too salty and had a good balance of flavor. I ordered the sesame chicken and they give you a plate completely full. The chicken tasted fresh! The Dynamite Sushi and spring rolls were both really good as well. The shrimp hibachi had great flavors and even the veggies were great. They provide you with complimentary dessert, fried oreos. Everything was great!
I love this place, it has very good FRESH sashimi and the presentation and service are the BEST in Jacksonville! I will defined come back!
Food and service was awesome. The sauces are so full of flavor. Rice was cooked perfectly. Everything was very fresh. My only recommendation is to add vegetables to the chicken fried rice! It was great, but tradition veggies would have made it unforgettable. Great for take out!
I had dinner here on a whim while staying in Jacksonville and absolutely loved it!
The staff was super friendly and very attentive without being overbearing. While I was waiting for my meal to arrive, they were kind enough to bring me a delicious shrimp appetizer on the house. The tonkatsu ramen that I ordered came out fairly quickly and was just as satisfying. I was also impressed with how efficient they were with the bill when I was done and ready to go since some places take ages.
The inside was pretty cozy with plenty of high-backed booth seating, and there was a lot of cute japanese drawings on the back wall to add to the ambiance.
Overall had a great experience and would love to go back!
I come here for lunch, probably three times a week! The Maki Lunch is such an awesome special! 3 rolls for 13$ you can't beat it! Super authentic Japanese cuisine, and the staff is always so kind!

Our favorite sushi place closed in the pandemic and so we were looking at places we hadn’t been to before. This place looked a little “rough” on the outside, but please don’t let that deter you from trying their food! The specific sashimi I had was meh, but everything else was simply delicious! Prices are reasonable for a sushi restaurant and the menu is endless… We’ll definitely be back!

Went tonight to satisfy my craving for ramen. As usual, the tonkatsu ramen was delicious!!! The slices of roast pork were so flavorful, the broth was so rich. I also ordered crazy roll which was made of spicy salmon - it was incredible!!! The salmon is fresh and the special sauce tasted great. I also would like to commend the server who was very attentive and was apologetic when there was no dipping cup that was put on my table. Overall, Oishii never fails to satisfy my cravings for hot ramen noodles, always filling, always delicious. I will definitely be back!
One of the better traditional Japanese places in Jax. There's even a sign that it's the #1 according to Japanese American Association of Jacksonville. It has the largest selection of spicy sushi I've seen. I had bouncy steamed shrimp shumai, krab Rangoon, spicy white tuna, spicy yellowtail, shrimp tempura and rock n roll. Excellent quality and super fast delivery. There's good ramen here too in very large portions. The duck and shoyo ramen are good value.

I love it in there. It's always so cozy, along with my go-to; their Chicken Katsu Curry. It's a nice kick of heat.
