We love this place! Great restaurant to celebrate special occasions. Several great chefs but tonight we had Tony and he is the best yet. Yummy dinner. We had the filet and lobster. Great great meal.
We wound up here because no other Japanese Steak house was open at 3 pm and my Grandson Graduation was later in the day there were 14 of us...staff was awesome service very attentive and Chef was both personable and skillful they even took a picture of all of us great experience reasonable price and food was awesome!
The wife and I loved it.we usually go to kyodai,but this place is less busy.the food is cheaper and the portions are bigger

The food was fantastic! We ordered shrimp and tuna hibachi and several sushi rolls and it was all fantastic! The cook was kid friendly and put on a good show and the waitress was very good and personable! Had an excellent time!

Really delicious meal! We went for dinner on a Friday night and the service was great and our food was amazing. Hibachi chef was entertaining and I'd say the food was better then other local hibachi restaurants. Food was flavorful and didn't make me sick to my stomach afterwards like other hibachi restaurants.

I thought Mikado did a great job with the atmosphere. Upon first impression the building came across as very clean, and we were warmly welcomed at the door.
Service was relatively swift even though it was a Friday evening. I happened to order the steak and shrimp which seemed to be definitely above par. Our chef was very entertaining. He had many tricks and jokes I saw and heard for the first time. Overall a very pleasant experience I plan on repeating.
Great place for family and friends. I recently looked up reviews for Japanese steakhouses and not only laughed at how some of the reviews were writing but decided to take a chance. Mikado has been around Jacksonville for awhile and the new location across the new Walmart at the avenues walk had great sushi ad the service plus the food was exceptional. There was a couple with our teppan table that had been going there for years and raved about the chefs cooking and style, along with the fact that the staff was very welcoming. We will be back to see their buffet and new menu items during the summer.
This was the first Japanese steakhouse I've ever been to. I had my cousin I town and we could not find a place to eat by the avenues. Everywhere was just jam packed with a huge wait. We came acids Mikado and we were out of options so we tied it out.
The wait was only 15 minutes which was not bad. I wasn't too thrilled that you have to share a table with about four other parties. But we were daring this night and went with it. The food is decent. Nothing ill remember the taste forever, but the atmosphere is wonderful. The chefs are stunning to watch and I was absolutely mesmerized by them. We did have a sort of obnoxious neighbor at our table. I didn't mind her so much but the couple at the other side seeme to. As soon as they got their check they booked it. I only wish the tables were smaller so you don't have to dine with so many strangers.
The food and service was excellent. The portions were generous and I highly recommend mikado Japanese Steakhouse.
Great Food!. Japanese hibachi style steak houses are some of my favorite places to eat. I first went to one back in the 80’s in Hawaii and I have been to a lot of others since. I've found Mikado to be among the best of the best! I have to give it five stars! It’s new, with a fresh, eloquent decor and excellent menu, both lunch and dinner. Whether you’re a fan of sushi or hibachi style dinning, you won’t be disappointed. The ingredients they use are of the highest quality, something I pay particular attention to. Although my personal favorites are the shrimp tempura, filet mignon, or grilled scrimp, I recommend anything on the menu, most of which I've tried. Every time I go to Florida I make Mikado a destination, it’s simply that good!

Wonderful. I LOVE this place!
If I must drive to Jacksonville, I make sure that I have time to stop by during the lunch hours for the buffet. It is tasty, quick, and inexpensive.
I do have my favorites on the buffet, and really "pig out" with them.
Right now, my favorite is the Ahi roll.
Try it. Even if there are some things not to your liking, there will be something that is.
A step above the rest. I always like to check out japanese steak houses and was pleased to try Mikados. My first impression was how clean it was and how friendly the staff is. My friends and I ordered steak and scallops with tempura for appetizer and everything came out on time and I felt satisfied with the generous portions. We will definitely be back.

Mikado's is Alive and Well.... They have relocated to a new building next to the new WalMart at the Avenues. Same great food and service just around the corner in a new building.
Overall, if you want to have a (not so great) dinner show, plenty of food, with decent service, I would consider this place.
We stopped here for a quick bite to eat and were seated promptly. The server came out to take our order and it seemed that she was capturing everything appropriately, but brought my sister's order out incorrectly twice (since hers had to be specially cooked in the back). The portions of the food served were huge, the entertainment value that's usually associated with a hibachi grill was incredibly low. But the food was good. Mikado has merged with Pho 99 Fusion! Pho 99 was located on Blanding and 103rd but they have recently moved in to Mikado! Such a nice restaurant accommodates big crowds , nice, clean and kid friendly. I’ve tried both hibachi at Mikado side which was amazing and I’ve had the Pho 99 which was the main reason we have visited. Hands done yummy and the owner Vivian is such a sweet heart. We will be returning for sure! Five stars
Had a great time! Food was great and service was awesome! Our chef was very entertaining and made the experience that much better. We enjoyed our family dinner for my mom's birthday. First time she had ever been to a hibachi grill. Will definitely return and hope we get him again or someone just as entertaining ☺️ he was a hoot
I was on my lunch break and knew I needed to find something quick. We ordered two lunch bento boxes, one chicken katsu, one salmon katsu. The staff was friendly and the soup was nice and hot ☺️
Got Chicken Teriyaki Bento and it was very good. Interior and exterior of restaurant was in good condition and staff were very nice. They gave me a cheesecake because it was my birthday, so it wouldn't be a bad idea to take someone here for their birthday.
Visted July 2018. Reasonable priced Hibachi. We ordered the Dinner for two special. Which included an upgrade to Filet Mignon, along with the shrimp and Lobster. Very generous portions. The Chef and other staff were very friendly. The Sake was good🍵🤙
This place is fantastic. Really pretty inside and the food was great! We had tempura and hibachi dinners. The food was delicious and the service was exceptional. Since covid I’ve been less likely to go out to dinner because service is so spotty but at Mikado before I could Even ask for a napkin the waitress had appeared with one. Def will be going back here for dinner soon! 10/10 perfect night out spot
This location is tucked away off of US-1/Phillips Hwy. Plenty of parking and convenient to the Avenues Mall. The exterior & interior is well maintained, the staff is very friendly and polite. We attempted to get in an early dinner around 430. Unfortunately, we were not able to stay and eat as the Baby was being fussy this time. So, when we do get to stop in and eat I will update the review and let you know how the food and service at the hibachi grill is.
Have missed coming here! We moved to Mandarin, but used to come all the time when they were right on Phillips and when they 1st moved. The spicy tuna rolls were great, and the sushi chef was very accommodating to add eel to the top as a special request (for a small extra charge) Also when inquiring about salmon and masago eggs we were given a sample of the latter and decided to add it on top of the sushi rolls. They have the best Miso soup and the rice was good. BTW the wasabi- very hot!! 🔥👍😉

Good food a good portion of food for a little bit of money . I had the chicken lunch special it came with a egg roll , waton , some kind of fried dumpling I think , vegetables , sushi, soup and a salad . For 9 dollars .
Great place, i honestly love it. They always make my food right. Recommended for a family day out a celebration or a cute date. Won't fail.
