Fantastic. Really liked the food and the quick service. This place has improved so much. Clean, friendly and the prices are all fantastic. Great choices on the menu and home cooked vegetables. Couldn't ask for any better.
New and Improved. Talking to my friends about my visits to Famous Amos recently. They had been to the one on University Blvd just off Phillips Highway. They said the same thing. Fantastic food, decor is new and bright instead of old and dingy as it was, and the prices are so good its unbelievable.
Great to have Famous Amos back on the map in Jax.
Changes. I've always enjoyed eating at Famous Amos and will continue to eat here although my visits have become fewer and fewer, the portion sizes are good and I enjoy here over Cracker Barrel, with cheaper prices. A Wonderful Southern style home cooking restaurant, with new owners the place has slipped in service a little bit but I still enjoy eating here.
Great breakfast or specials. I have eaten here since I used a booster chair , It is what it is , Good old hangover or heavy food .
I really love the Southern style foods!. The best place in my area of town to get REAL Southern style foods. The fried chicken, fried or sauteed chicken livers and the fried vegetables are the BEST!! We will be back again and AGAIN!
I've been going to this restaurant since I was single digits. Don't get me wrong, it's certainly changed over the years. Different cooks, owners, waitstaff, even decor had cycled though this place in my two decades of patronage but I'll keep coming back. Something about the menu, the food, maybe the ambiance? It's like sitting down at someone's grandparents house for dinner. It might not be perfect but it's comforting.
This is about only place my mom- in-law like to go for a great lunch. Has upfront handicap parking. Pretty clean inside, lots of cushion seating. Mom loves the variety of the meals and sides. She like the price and the serving sizes. We enjoy chatting with the pleasant servers and Love those hot fresh baked biscuits. Good Eating.
Great country diner in the big city! Super friendly service and amazing food! Outrageous Burger and hand made onion rings were spectacular!!!! Restaurant and bathroom were clean. 5 stars would have been possible if my soup and meal hadn't arrived at same time.
They serve breakfast all day. This is good old fashion home cooking. The food is made fresh every day. There are daily specials and they have a large menu. Fast friendly service. I'm reserving one star for ambiance.
I visited Famous Amos as a party of two mid week close to 12 noon. We were seated promptly. We were served timely and the food was excellent. The menu is vast in choices. Reasonably priced entrees. Comfortable and casual atmosphere.
A great place to get some "home cooked" comfort food without having to do it yourself. Staff are friendly and the prices aren't that bad. Depending on the time of day will determine how long your wait will be. That's why a 4 out of 5 rating.
I must admit this has been one of my all time favorite restaurant for about 20 years now. I've always had great service and for here. My last three times here I has the very best server ever! He amazes me with his sharp memory. No matter how busy it is, he is always attentive and professional.
