Amazing smell! Amazing food! Amazing customer service!!! I drive 15 minutes to this location, even tho I have a Bono’s next to my place. Bri was amazing! Advised me what the best options are for a Sunday Special(I have family in town and needed a lot of food). Will definitely recommend and be always back!!! Thank you again!!!

I always feel like family when I visit the San Jose store. They greet me by name with a smile and always know my order. That might be in part because I'm in there a couple of times a week. The food is always fresh, hot and delicious. On the off chance something isn't just right, they are fast to do whatever it takes to remedy whatever that might be. I can't say I've ever had a less that great meal and/or experience, even from the drive through. They never forget anything, so I'm ready to eat when I get to where ever I'm going. Thanks to the entire staff for making me feel at home!
I highly recommend Bono's Pit barbeque on San Jose just past Kori road.

a tear just streamed down my leg eating here again for the first time in years. this is hands down the best bbq in Jax, from a born and raised local. will be back.

We had Onion Rings as an appetizer. They came out quickly and were fried to perfection. My husband ordered the 3 Meat Combo, and I ordered a Salad topped with Turkey. There is no better smoked Turkey at any other restaurant. Our meal was delicious and our waitress was wonderful. We'll be back soon for another incredible meal.

We generally have very good luck with this location. The servers are pleasant and efficient. The dining room is always clean and not noisy, even when busy. We generally get the same items, pulled pork and lean brisket, and overall they are good. However, the temperature usually varies by visit, the serving sizes appear different occasionally, and the fattiness/gristley parts can be very little to more than I think should be there. A bit more consistency would go a long way. The sides are good, with fries crispy unlike a different location we no longer patronize. Baked beans, potato salad and green beans all worth a try. We used to get corn nuggets and they were good but not that great of a value any longer. This is one of the few places I will get sweet tea since it is generally has a good tea taste and not just brown water. You may need to do half-n-half sweet/unsweet because sometimes it can be on the sugary side. Parking is good and it is easy to get into off SJ Blvd. Overall, this is a good Bono's and you will not be disappointed.
1st time visiting here. Food was good. I wasn't a fan of the deep fried corn. But that's just my preference. My husband had the brisket fries and said the brisket was really good. I had the sloppy pig. Was good I only wished it had less slaw and a little more pork instead since it was so good.
Go at least once a week for 3 meat salad mixed with ranch dressing and sweet bbq sauce.
Sometimes little dry but they are quick and super super nice. Christina is one of my favorites.

We had my dad's 80th birthday party here. The staff was amazing and a great price. My parents were very happy with the atmosphere and food! My mom is hard to please so that was awesome! The owner and manager walked me through all our options and ensured the party went off without a hitch!
My honey took me to lunch, first time at this location, always loved Bonos, just been dieting, and the salad thing could get expensive. So it's a treat to eat out,.got seated and served right away. Friendly staff, and not busy at home.
Absolutely great service!!!!! And my food was delicious!! The food my boyfriend got wasnt as good as mine (brisket and turkey) but I was very happy with all my food!! I always go for the pulled pork!
Grabbed some food to go. Hubby liked the ribs and sauce. I had chicken planks. I like that the planks were cut thin but they were on the overcooked side. The flavor is in the condiments.
This place is amazing. When the sign says pit or smoke that's what it means. The ribs are tender and tasty, the sausage is packed with flavor, the brisket is amazing. The beer is cold and the music is easy listening. Great place for good food.
Very good experience..... it starts off a little bad though. My wife and I ordered through grub hub. The food came back horribly. I spoke with the manager on duty Jeff. He assured me that he would fix the error by replacing the meal. We agreed. I went in the next day to have the order replaced.... they gave me no trouble. The female manager helped out and was very polite. The food was fantastic! I do feel as if they maybe “polished” the food because of the complaint. However I wasn’t going to complain. My bbq cheese fries were awesome. The wife’s food was on par to her liking. And my son cleaned his plate. All in n all great food great service very happy
My birthday dinner with my husband of 45 yrs. I got the 3 meat platter brisket, ribs and pulled pork. The good banana pudding was my gift. It was late, we had just drove from NC where our BBQ is great , Bonos was good as well... Service was excellent. My husband got chicken, ribs and sausage. He wasn't impressed with the chicken or the sausage. I got extra bread for my take out. Best birthday ever, we had just found out that my husband was in full remission from lung and brain cancer.
