Just passing through town and stumbled across this little gem. Ribs were great but that sweet sauce really brought it home for me. Terrance (hope I remembered that right) Took great care of us as we couldnt drive thru with our trailer and the inside was closed but he saw us out in the parking lot and made sure we got fed. Will def be stopping by again!
Best barbecue in the world sauce has changed slightly since I was a kid but all in all still best barbecue in the universe everyone else's is second best
My go to place for a good rib sandwich I love it but wish they had other flavor sauces and that special punch they use to serve!
I live in orange park and everytime. I go downtown or damn near everytime i just pass by jenkins i have to stop by and get me a Rib sandwich (thick_end) with some fries topped with my favorite sauce. Jenkins is a legend and his sauce is the perfect blend of herbs and spices. I love it. Ty keep his tradition alive!
woman at the US1 drive thru window was so unbelievably rude that I told her "nevermind no thank you"....drove to the downtown location where the service was nicer and food was worth the extra drive!
I love Jenkins barbecue is everything you need you don't need to go anywhere else is finger licking good you would never forget it you would leave town but when you come back you will always go to Jenkins quality barbecue stop by we will be glad to see you and serve you The best in town

I've was going to Jenkins when there was only one on Kings road. I lived down the street from it, back in the sixties. Any time I'm in town I will go there to reminisce just like family to me. Love the hot sauce.

My daughter and I had to ride to Jacksonville today, and we were both craving BBQ. They y were less than a block away... The food was fresh, mouthwatering, and definitely worth the Price... IT was absolutely Delicious!! I will be returning...I wanted to make the trip back on Sunday, however I realize they are not open... I'm extremely satisfied with my MEAL!! An hour drive is definitely worth it, to me!!
My family and I went to the downtown location recieved excellent service. The young man Mathis was working the window. He was so patient and nice while taking our order. We were a party of 8. Excellent food and service. I love the sauce. Whenever visiting Jacksonville. I will eat at Jenkins.
I ordered a full slab, it has been smoked very well done. I started to try Jenkins from 10 years ago to today... And the taste hasn't changed a bit. baked beans really good if you like cinnamon in your baked beans., Cole slaw better than any one around..really good. It was a 25 min wait at the drive thru but worth the wait and patience. Can't say much about the atmosphere tho.
I don't know how you can ask for anything more to get barbecue through a drive-thru at 11 at night. Not bad at all but beware of bones

Nice bbq place. We ordered the bbq chicken and the ribs sandwiches and the food was delicious and very tasty. The food portion was large and the sandwiches were covered in generous amount of bbq/mustard sauce (sweet/mild/spicy options). Dine in; indoor and outdoor seatings available as well as take out. Highly recommended if you are in the Jacksonville downtown area!!
It has been several years since I've gone to Jenkins. Mainly because I worked in downtown Jacksonville, and had been sent home to work during the pandemic. This location is near my home and I've recently been coming back to Jenkins for the last month or so. In the past, the drive-thru was unbelievably slow, but recently things have seemed to have improved and the line moves quicker. It's even faster than going to McDonald's. I typically go after 8pm and Mr. Khalil/Khaleel always makes it a pleasant experience to visit Jenkins Downtown.
This location has improved greatly. The quality that I've been so accustomed to is back. My last two visits were wonderful.
I absolutely love this Jenkins. I eat here a few times a month. The staff is always smiling, regardless of the late hours. I love the whole chicken sandwich, fries and corn nuggets. I drive from any side of town just to come to this Jenkins. 10/10!!
