Visited the chart House for a co-worker happy hour! This happy hour is perfect. It lasts from 4:30 until 7:00 and has a wide variety of drinks and food on the menu. The food was really good as were the drinks. And it wasn't just well drinks either. They had top shelf drinks on the happy hour menu too. The atmosphere was really great. We sat in the bar area and could see the water. Perfect place to go for an after work happy hour.
My goodness, this place was AMAZING! The service was awesome. Dylan was our server and he was well versed on the menu, offering a few of his favorites from different parts of the menu. He was so attentive, patient and quick on his feet.
We started with half a dozen oysters from VA which were good, the Kim chee calamari (the best calamari I’ve ever eaten), and the coconut crunchy shrimp which came with 3 different sauces.
We then had the kale + Brussels sprouts salad after which was also pretty delicious.
For entrees, I had the lemon herb crusted salmon - pure perfection in texture, flavor, taste, and temperature! It came with mashed potatoes and chives. My partner had the coconut crunchy shrimp with mango sticky rice and my father in law had the snapper highway which was Parmesan encrusted. All of the food was so good, I didn’t even get any photos of appetizers or dinner, just dessert.
For dessert, we all split the hot chocolate lava cake. My God, it wasn’t needed after all that food, but not a crumb was left! It was so good!!! Chocolate is my favorite and this dessert was the perfect blend of crunch, firm and moist. It was hot, and it was a great way to end the evening. Two espressos were enjoyed with dessert. I had one glass of wine while my bf and father in law had mocktails (zero proof menu) and we shared 2 bottles of San Pellegrino. We spent around $250 before gratuity.
Everything was paced out well! We were there for 3 hours but it felt like 1.5 hours. This was the perfect spot to go to when you have nothing else pressing for the night and just want to enjoy great company, great food, service and ambiance.
It was THE ULTIMATE COMPLETE EXPERIENCE. Would definitely return and highly recommend.
It was our first time here and after the spectacular meals we had, it won't be our last visit! Not only is the menu superb but it's the team of people who work there who make your evening special. My wife raved endlessly about lemon herb-crusted salmon while I enjoyed the wild mushroom shrimp and scallions. Fantastic!
We were looking for a new place to celebrate our anniversary and found Chart house. Fun ambiance with lively music, neat architecture, and menu options. We were not disappointed. Each table has a river view. Staff were super nice. Food was delicious and cooked to perfection. Wifey had the salmon and I the prime rib. Very little came home is was so good. Had an enjoyable walk in the waterfront afterwards. Great date place!!!
Our first time at Chart House for our anniversary exceeded our expectations. Definitely worth visiting and the overall experience was better than we’ve experienced at other local establishments. There is absolutely nothing we can critique about our evening. Highly recommend!!
Shout out to Ethan! Great customer service skills. The ambiance is amazing! The place is beautifully decorated on the outside and inside. Great happy hour selections, and the drinks were tasty. My favorite was the coconut shrimp. I ended up getting two orders. The crab cakes were not on the happy hour menu anymore, but my group still got it to try it. I've had better. I prefer mine crisper and seasoned. They definitely didn't skimp with the crab. But I would not add corn to the dish. (My preference) The drinks were worth it. $8 mango mojitos had me feeling nice!!
Chart House has an excellent view of The St. John's River and a healthy selection quality food.
The service was solid and customer-centric, but the prices, however, were rather high.
Expensive, yes. But this place is top notch. I was very lucky to show up on a Friday night without a reservation and got seated right at the windows looking out on the river. Service was friendly and professional. I got 1/2 dozen raw oysters. They were fresh but nothing special about them. (I have a very high bar for judging oysters) They were standard Gulf oysters. My server recommended the Key West spiced Grouper. It was grilled with Key West spices and served with a Mango Habanero sauce that was just perfection. Wonderful experience and would highly recommend Chart House in Southbank.
The food and service is excellent here. The views of the water were exquisite. I had the swordfish and it was sauteed perfectly with the fingerling potatoes. My wife had the herbed chicken and it fell right off the bone. My daughter had the prime rib and it was so tender and delicious, you could almost cut it with a fork. We will definitely be returning in the near future.
I came in town to participate in Jacksonville Caribbean Carnival (check out what you missed -same name on IG, FB & X). And had the pleasure of dining at Chart House one evening. The best time ever! From my entry to being served. Recommendations, suggestions and a very happy & pleasant staff. Sara my bartender is an absolute doll. Couldn't believe the size of the cocktails, The view-"No words"! And not 1, or 2 but 3 creme brulee's. Definitely try the Ahi tuna nachos & Prime ribs sliders! Will be returning very soon! #NFEWO
