Came here for a party today with my mom and her friends. From the moment we entered, we were greeted by hospitable staff that ensured we were all well taken care of. Two of us had dietary restrictions, and the owner came out to discuss what substitutions could be made, and even gave me a platter of my own. It made me feel right at home. We all thoroughly enjoyed the food and impressive selections of teas. I had the Mandarin Sencha and the Tumeric Ginger teas, and I was very pleased with both. We will be returning for sure!
Came for a girls afternoon out to celebrate 2 birthdays. The owner greeted us out front, seated us and then the 7 courses began. 1.Soup:Hearty Vegetable Tortellini, 2.House Salad:Roasted Pears,Plums,Pine Nuts & Goat Cheese over mixed greens w/House Raspberry Vinaigrette; 3. Fresh Baked Scones; 4. Quiche; 5.Tea Sandwiches: Cucumber W/Herbed Spread, Turkey Brie & Raspberry Jam, Ham Smoked Gouda&Apple Butter Preztil, Cranberry Chicken Salad Croissant; 6: Dessert: Pumpkin Spiced Cake, Chocolate Almond Butter Cupcake and 7: Fresh Seasonal lemon Sorbet . We had a great time, the waitress were so nice and friendly. Can't wait to visit again.
I wanted to have my baby shower at a tea room, and One Steep at a Thyme was the most convenient for my friends and family, so we decided to give it a try. This was my first visit, but I will certainly be returning! All the food was excellent, but in particular, the scones were absolutely delicious as they came out warm, and the assortment of tea sandwiches was delectable. They had an extensive list of tea flavors, so even that alone is reason to return to try more. The ambiance on the inside is beautiful, such that I felt like I took a trip back in time. The owner is very nice to talk to, and she runs an excellent tea room. I will definitely be back for more tea and food :)
This review is a little late. I went here in March 2020 with my mother. What a great experience! It was just perfect. As soon as you pull up they show you where to park. When you get to the door they pleasantly greet you and welcome you inside. The inside is absolutely adorable and cozy. The menu of teas was extensive. So many to choose from. Both my mother and I ordered two different kinds and shared them. Everything on the food menu that they served was delicious! The staff were knowledgeable and super friendly. I hope that they are able to open up again because I will definitely return!
Start to finish, this was an amazing experience. They recommend reservations 48 hours in advance, but I called the day before hoping to get in and they were graciously able to accommodate. Kathy, the owner, is incredibly gracious and it is clear she loves what she does. Her house, the setting, is antique and almost Victorian like in decor. They were painting the outside so there was no sign or even house number; I recommend using your GPS. Kathy's husband greeted us so we knew we were at the right place. Also, parking is on the street, which given the location, really was not that big of a deal.
The menu was spectacular. The french onion soup is delicious. Everything was served so elegantly. The chicken salad on croissant was the best I've ever had. My only complaint was the quiche. It wasn't a quiche rather than just baked eggs. Quiche has a crust which this didn't have. Having said that, I like eggs, so I didn't mind this too much and it certainly did not change the experience at all. Kathy said the menu changes frequently depending on what's fresh at the market, and I can't wait to visit in the fall where I hope they will be serving some butternut squash soup. Truly a gem of a find.
A great experience! While the tea room was a little crowded (someone was having a very lovely birthday tea - for which I heartily approve), my friend and I enjoyed ourselves immensely. Definitely recommend for the full tea service - we got the Dirty Chai and Coconut Custard tea flavors. Both very pleasing on their own (the Coconut Custard was quite sweet without sugar), but halfway thru we decided to blend the two teas and it was so delicious!
Very pleasant experience. Everything prepared fresh and the seven course Tea seating was quite filling. Small portions but was very satisfied with all the food provided. 100 tea types to select from. Once you choose you get an individual kettle of 3 to 4 cups. Quiet and great for catch up conversation. Staff was very pleasant. Truly focused on the diners satisfaction. A+
