I absolutely love this place. The owners are great and always take time to speak with their guests. The dumplings are delicious and I can't recommend the Thai Curry enough!! Veg/Vegan friendly for those of you guys who need that, but also great for meat eaters!

Went for dinner last night for the 5 course tasting menu and the food was incredible. This is a great addition to the Bergen/Lafayette area.
My favorite dish was the Bone broth with oxtail and soba noodles.
Absolutely coming back!!!

It’s right up there with the best in town! Please give it a try. The owners are friendly. The food is freshly prepared. Ever changing specialty dishes too! The lemongrass coconut curry was a pallet pleaser for me!
My experience at the Pinwheel Garden is always a warm and inviting experience. The food is excellent and everyone is so friendly they really go above and beyond. I had the Veggie Scallion Pancake, Veggie Bolognese and the Banana Wontons. Everything was perfectly seasoned and the flavors were paired well. I shall return hungry for more!
I have been for two invited dinners here. Every course is better than the next! The miitake mushroom steak and the chicken of the woods curry are not to be missed! Can't wait to eat here again.

I sampled their maitake mushroom and burdock root dumplings with a coconut curry sauce. The dumplings were perfectly cooked. The bottoms were crispy with a light golden brown color and the dumpling skins had a soft shell. The stuffing inside was well seasoned. �
Second time in less than 4 days. Delicious both times. Will definitely be back for 3rds!
the food is amazing at Pinwheel- they are open sporadically just now, but I eat there every chance I get. Looking forward to regular hours :-)
First time trying this place. It is a small pretty place. Decor inside is super nice and organic. The brothers, Steve and Al where super nice and welcoming. I had the Shrimp & Mac and Cheese dumplings, the shrimp was incredible. The Mac were missing but I’m sure they’re amazing!
I also had the Spicy Thai Basil Fried Rice, I asked for the spiciness on the side and added lemon grass chicken, they were also kind enough and gave me their lemon blueberry iced tea on the house, it was so refreshing!
I highly recommend this place! I’ll be a local now that I had their food. So yum!
This is a perfect low-key date night spot. The food was delicious, flavors were amazing and the staff was very friendly. I liked that they have plenty of vegetarian options. Also loved the plant filled decor.
Delicious food and lovely plant filled decor! We ordered the Dumpling sampler, Scallion Pancake Pizza and the Drunken Mushroom Udon. We really loved the udon which was perfectly cooked and flavored! Will be back for more and will try out their interesting desserts next time!
We went to Pinwheel for a weekday date night. They left the doors open so felt airy and fresh. The place is cute and they have outdoor seating as well.
Linda was our server, she was warm and professional and her recommendations were on point. We had the spinach and aloo gobi dumplings, mushroom udon noodles and vegan ramen. All were fresh, hot and delicious, my husband thought portion size was small-ish but was enough for me. Could taste the quality ingredients in the food. We could have enjoyed a little more spice, but the flavor profile was nice and umami.
Overall I enjoyed our experience and would recommend this place for anyone looking for Asian options in the area.
A small restaurant that is worth the visit!
A lot of the reviews recommended the curry noodles. The udon noodles were chewy and full of flavor. If you enjoy Green/coconut curry from Thai restaurants, this dish won’t disappoint you. There were plenty of noodles and veggies and I couldn’t finish it.
We also had the dumpling sampler. The dumplings were well fried. I thought it was a bit on a pricier side since for 4 dumplings, we paid $10. Despite that, I thought pinwheel was a cute restaurant with awesome service.
Popular neighborhood restaurant in Jersey City. There is some street parking nearby. The best value are the mains as dumplings are pricier. We like the chicken and shrimp Thai dumplings more than the bacon veggie dumplings. We got the bourbon bacon drunken noodle and trinity rice bowl. We liked the chewy texture of the drunken noodle but preferred the flavor of the rice bowl. This restaurant is not very wheelchair accesible with limited space and steps to basement with tiny restroom.

Super tasty food! Excellent dumplings! I came here without a reservation with my bro for an early dinner and were greeted and seated right away. To drink, my Thai Iced Tea was the best I've ever had with deep flavors and minimal sweetness. Then my bro's Taiwanese Sarsaparilla was also perfectly sweet. For food we tried 4 things:
-Aloo Gobi Dumplings - next level stuff! 4 dumplings stuffed with a curried mix of cauliflower, potato, chickpeas, edamame, sunflower seeds, and raisins. This arrived with an addictive tamarind-cilantro sauce that made the whole dish lip-smacking good. DO IT!!!
-A side of a soft-boiled Jasmine Tea Egg marinated in tea and soy- a scrumptious treat!
-Trinity Ricebowl (or Ramen or Udon) - I could eat this all day! This cozy bowl of goodness arrived with majorly deep flavors of a beef/chicken/pork bone broth, lemongrass chicken, charsiu pork, stewed beef neck, a Jasmine tea egg, bean sprouts, crunchy shallots, and scallions.
-Creme Caramel - a light flan-like custard with a vanilla caramel sauce and zest. Yummy!
At the end of our meal, we were really lucky to be able to chat a little with the owners who were so friendly and chill. With excellent service, food, drinks, and music, I can't wait to bring everyone I know here!

This was the perfect place for comfort and warmth. I ate 2 different dumpling samplers. The first was a 6 sampler with 3 Thai chicken and shrimp 3 Mac and Cheese! Secondly I had 4 4 sampler with 2 spinach and 2 Aloo Gobi which was absolutely fantastic. Then to top it off I had a blueberry lemon iced tea that was so refreshing 😋 the staff was friendly and inviting. The pinwheel is definitely a precious gem here in Jersey City. I'll definitely be back very soon.
