Fred and Red's is one of the best local restaurants in the area. They have one of the best and friendliest staffs around. The management team of Heather and Chris are the best. They are origininals from before it reopened. They are the best.

Drove by this place a jillion times. Decided today was the day to try it. I swear it was the best chili I've ever had. My wife's spaghetti red was also amazing, and the lemon rasberry cake was also really good. Will definitely be going back.

I loved the taste and texture of the chili, but it should have been hotter when served. I went through the drive-thru, because signage made it appear that that was the only option. (I was the first customer.) I parked to eat it, since I was passing through Joplin, and had been looking forward to having a bowl for years. Heated it up after I got back home, and enjoyed it, just a couple of days later. Summary, turn up the burner, and I'll he happy.

Love this place! I have eaten here as a kid now bringing my Granddaughter here and she loved it as well. Hands down BEST Spaghetti in the four state area.

I have been waiting to try their Spaghetti Red again since they reopened. Eating here wss a treat when I was growing up on the farm and later Pittsburg KS. The Spaghetti Red was as good as I remembered it.

We happened across this place by accident; we all had the Spaghetti Red. Who knew home made chili on top of spaghetti could be so good? It was outstanding! Can't wait to have another reason to come through Joplin again!

When I return to my hometown, there is nothing that gives me that nostalgic feeling more than Fred & Red's. My school, many of my favorite restaurants & landmarks are gone. One thing that I can rest assured that is the same...Your CHILI! Thanks for the fulfilling blast from the past. Love me some hometown Spaghetti Red ❣️

They were super nice, everything was at a great price and was made to order. Hot and fresh, delicious and we were so glad we got to stop by and eat. Recommend here for great food and service, as well as the historic aspect. Right on Main street in Joplin. Their chili was amazing, awesome chili cheese dogs and the burgers were the best. The tamales were so tasty. The crinkle cut fries were given 2 thumbs up by my daughter. The sweetest and friendliest employees. Definitely stop by and try them out if you want good food that won't break the bank. We loved it.

We highly recommend Fred & Red's drive-thru or dine in. We enjoyed Spaghetti Red, Cheese Burger, Fries, Grill Cheese and Root Beer to drink. I love the atmosphere of the dining with the bar stool sit down counter. The servers are all very nice and great company. You won't be disappointed.

AWESOME! Total dive in the good way. Friendly staff, old building, tasty food. Not amazing but good Midwest diner fare. Got to try it if you're in Joplin.

Saw this place on the Ozark episode of Anthony Bourdain, and since we were in the area, thought we'd give it a try! I think we arrived around opening and the place filled up fast! The staff and locals were very welcoming. Very simple and unique menu! I ordered the half and half and my son ordered the overload which was a larger portion of tamales topped with spaghetti topped with a meat based chili sauce and then we topped it with some Parmesan and hot sauce! Served with a side of pickles and onions! Interesting combination but we both really enjoyed it!

When the wife was still able to get out and go before the cancer took her, we were able to eat here a couple times and really did enjoy it. Now that I'm by myself, I thought I would give it a shot again today, and was very pleased with the food. Was every bit as good as ever!!

Why is this place not ranking on Google as one of those places you must try before you die?? I travel all over the country and am always looking for those unique places that just crank out mounds of good food that is to die for! (I am an avid foodie/ traveler. I always ask and search online for these special places that are often the Mom & Pop / family owned type joints.) Today I found one of those places... Fred & Reds! Nothing fancy, but full of good, salt of the earth people and mounds of good food like your mama or granny makes! I had the jumbo tamale spread with beans and onion & pickles and a Dr Pepper! Be warned. The jumbo is huge (I was very hungry)! You owe it to yourself to make it a point to visit this place at least once in your life.... You will be hooked for life!! You have been warned!!!

What a history here, my parents took us there when I was a teenager, the food was great and greasy but what fun sitting at the counter. No one can do spaghetti red like this while many have tried. Unfortunately the new owners don’t have it quit right yet and the chili is a little watery at times.
