My wife and I are absolutely in love with this place. The food is beyond excellent and the atmosphere is wonderful. I'm reluctant to post this out of selfishness.
From start to finish a meal at Comensoli’s rivals anything we have had on the Hill in St. Louis. An extensive wine and cocktail menu which includes some excellent Italian wines. We had the Burrata and Tomato starter. This eatery makes their own sausage and sauces so we made sure to try their signature pasta that includes them. Also had the Chicken Piccata and it was done to perfection with sides of tender rosemary roasted potatoes and balsamic glazed carrots. Had to try the the dessert so I took home a slice of the limoncello cream cake. At last we have found what will be our go-to Italian eatery in Kalamazoo! Will definitely be returning again soon!
We make the trip once a year or so for a delightful evening. The food is wonderful, as is the staff. Also enjoy the outdoor seating during summer months.

Took my wife here for our first time on date night Friday and what a gem!!!! Everything about this place is exquisite. The food is the best Italian in Kalamazoo and the drinks are top notch as well! Our waitress Alexandra K was super friendly and she recommended the pineapple upside down cake martini which was amazing! I had the special, blackened shrimp risotto and it was the best tasting risotto around and the dish was perfectly spiced! We tried the Brussels sprouts as well and they tasted just as good as they looked! The bruschetta was the best around also. Everything we had was well priced and worth every penny spent! We’ll definitely be back for another date night!
Loved the atmosphere. Got seated right away and service was great. Thoroughly enjoyed the food and wine selection.
Our family had a great experience here! We ordered cheesy garlic bread and marinara to start and for dinner we had tortellini, chicken Marsala, and pizza. Everything was delicious. We will definitely be back again!
We were in the mood for traditional Italian, so we gave Comensoli's a try. It was definitely worth a try we enjoyed all the entrees we tried including the mussels appetizer.
Let me start by saying the food was above average. The meatballs were delicious, the chicken was dry, and the veal wasn't anything special. The prices were too high for the quality. Our bill was over $70 for the two of us, and neither one of us felt the urge to want to come back.
The atmosphere is fine, with roughly 10 tables inside and double that "outside".
I like the atmosphere - it is very serene and neat. The staff are friendly and courteous. The food is good but not spicy-hot enough (and the chilis they had wasn't any better). The drinks are very good.
I will recommend the place to anyone who wants a taste of Italian food.
The food was phenomenal, though it took a rather long time to get our food, the staff was amazing and took great care of us
Really didn’t know what to expect. Not great street appeal, but it was surprisingly cute and warm inside. We enjoyed the food and would recommend. I enjoyed the lasagna.
