We had a party of 9 for a multiple birthday celebration. Of course it's march madness, KU is playing, the place was packed and we walk in with no reservation. The P&J people put us in a private room until some tables come available. We were patient since we were comfortable with drinks in hand. Once we got seated at a table, our server took our food and drink orders and even with the crowd our food came out quickly and as usual the food was great! We always consider Paul and jacks when we want to have a good meal and a good time !

Another hidden gem in North Kansas City. Food: EXCELLENT!!! Service: very attentive and friendly. Atmosphere: Clean, and accessible. We have visited this establishment twice and both times left very satisfied. Highly recommend eating lunch there. Their lunch specials are awesome, huge portions for a very reasonable price. We will definitely add this place to our list of MOST favorite places to meet and eat. Great job folks. Kudos!!!
They have great food and one of the best setups for live music outside under the stars. The owner is great.....he makes you feel so welcome. Check it out!!!
Had an absolute blast, when we arrived there were no more tables on the patio but the owner was more than accommodating and found us a little table for two. It was prefect!! The service was good and prompt, the food delicious!! We will be returning!!
My husbands work party is always wonderful. Mouth watering food. Excellent service. Fun games. Recommend anything on the menu. You won't be disappointed.
I can not say enough great things about the staff here! They were very attentive and gracious to our company. We had a Christmas Party for our staff. Great buffet which they kept checking and always willing to get you your frosty beverages. A permanent fixture in NKC for years. You must stop and say hi!
My kids and I went here to try something new. The service was good and the food was good also, nothing spectacular, although the mozzarella sticks were delicious. The crab cakes were not impressive, and the fried shrimp had a weird batter that was too spicy and my daughter didn't like. The chicken fried steak was delicious.
What a great place. It was our first time here and it didn't disappoint. It was typical bar and grille food, but done well. Spouse's hamburger actually smelled like fresh hamburger. The tater tots were perfect. The nachos under appetizers made a great entree, as it was a generous portion. The meat was really flavorful. Our server was friendly and welcoming. Seemed like a place you could make a regular. We will definitely go back.
I was looking for a place in Kansas City to tryout for the first time. I stumbled upon Paul and Jake's in North Kansas City.

We had a class reunion here, and the room was packed, in a good way. Our server was DAWN and she absolutely killed it! All by herself, she served 60+ of us for hours and she always kept her composure and good sense, and she was fast. Great job, DAWN!!! I did not eat any food so I can't comment or rate the menu. One small thing that bothered me is that the restaurant did not have a sign up to tell our class members where to go, as there are a few "spots" on site. They could have done more to make our reunion a little more of a "thing" instead of just allowing us to arrive and give them our beer money. But ultimately classmates found us. But overall the best part was DAWN. Great job, DAWN!!!!

This place isn't fancy, it's a tavern with food that's slightly better than ordinary and friendly service. We rank the atmosphere high because they have options to choose from. When you walk in there is a relatively quiet area we call the family seats; the next area is the bar with surrounding tables; keep walking and you get to the game room that also has plenty of tables for eating; the final area is the large patio where they have live bands and lots of tables (but this does fill up when there is a band.) There are also 3 areas for groups, which can often be reserved without a fee. The first is off the family seating area, the second is off the bar area and the last is an elevated section of the patio. One caveat is that the patio does not have table service, we ordered food at the bar to eat outside, but it's not ideal. They have about a dozen beers on tap, and many more in cans and bottles. There are TVs, but the volume isn't blaring. The free parking can get crowded on weekend nights since there are 3 other restaurant/bars, one brewery and a dance club within a block.
First of all thank you for accommodating our party of 11. Secondly the server we had did a phenomenal job, it was her first day and she went and above and beyond for the whole table. The Black and Bleu bacon burger was the crowd favorite at the table but everyone loved their food. It was also apparently game night so the tables around us were playing board games it was quite the dining experience. I will be back with friends this place is great
A neat place we just came upon. The menu had something for everyone, this was a weekday and they had 2 lunch specials that looked absolutely delicious. The hostess was very nice and accommodated our request to sit outside at a table even though we were the only ones out there. The server was very personable abd knowledgeable with items on the menu and it's quite a large menu. The food was done in perfect time and was very good. Try the Cuban sandwich and sweet potato fries. Everything was very fair priced. It's a neat place, I'm glad we came upon it. We will definitely go back
We go to Paul & Jacks once a month and rent out the meeting room. The staff works fast and the menu has a lot of different options. The food is good as well. Get there before happy hour ends! If you want a tenderloin the size of your face...this is the place to go!
