Enjoyed a beer here , just wanted a small plate of something. So ordered the half size Hummus plate. I was blown away. AWESOME !
Other places serve hummus that somewhat bland served with pita bread and a few olives.
The Ship’s chef has THE number one on this. The hummus is homemade with distinct flavors, served with traditional browned pita slices plus pickled veggies, cucumbers, olives, and great presentation on the plate !
Simple dish but so wonderfully done. I will be back for this. I going there hungry next time, can’t wait to try all the other full plate items !
You NEED to check this out!

Went here for the 1st time yesterday ! We tried a few months back to find this gem, but just didn't quite locate it. Wonderful warehouse bar tucked in with historical decor from 1930's. Bartender, server & owners- all super-helpful & friendly! Most customers were regulars as they were immediately greeted by staff when entering! Love this dive bar & will definitely be back ♡ Like other reviews stated: great food, great drink selection, great service... what more could you ask for !!! Thank you
We stopped in for a snack after perusing antique vendors in the West Bottoms. We had veggie nachos that tasted great, ambiance like no other place in Kansas City and the cocktails really hit the spot! It was a great place to sit down and unwind a little after shopping all day and a far cry better than standing under the twelfth street bridge in the heat surrounded by pigeon droppings.
We've been there for to see some bands play before and had a great time. Wait staff and bartenders are top notch!
I recently discovered this amazing low key old school type speak easy bar in the west bottoms and wish I had stumbled upon it years ago.
Go for the kick ass staff and great beer list, stay for the amazing food they are putting out now and fantastic people watching / people meeting experiences.
I felt like I’d stepped 40 years back to my college days and favorite bar. There was no smoke but the vibe was definitely there. The menu is fine for a bar but it’s not extensive. The grilled romaine is delicious and enough for 3 to share. The mushroom appetizers was very tasty. The decor is dive bar with ship motif. Fun!
Enjoyed the atmosphere, food, and drinks! The special was Shrimp Po' boy...split it with my sister. It was very good, the bread so crusty and the shrimp perfectly fried. We selected the fries and coleslaw for sides...all delicious. I ordered the Painkiller as my libation...it did as intended...I was feeling no pain. The service is attentive. Not only our waitress, but the other servers came by to check if we needed anything. Definitely will be back again and would recommend to others.
This place is vintage. Owners and staff are attentive and friendly. Great dive bar. Patrons are friendly and low key. Great music, food and cocktails.
Great atmosphere, food, and wait staff! Very pleasantly surprised! One of the best phillys I've had, oh and the beans...in a city of bbq these beans are awesome!
Love this place! Nice people, good food, and a neat place to listen to music.

This place was great- the food was fantastic and I loved the atmosphere! I highly recommend it. Can't wait to go back!
I give the Ship a 10 star review! Awesome place, good atmosphere and good music!
Amazing bar with great prices and friendly staff. Be sure and try the food. Best meatloaf in town and everything else is amazing too! Can't wait for the BBQ!
We had a fantastic time with live music, good cocktails, and great food. The service was great, they took us in our reservation immediately. Great bar and space if you want to go out for dancing and drinks when they have live music.
Highly recommended. Parking easy. Well lit feels very safe.
This is a fun spot with good service. The ship theme is different and fun. The space is small and I'm betting the volume is crazy when there's live music. The macaroni and cheese is tasty, but the garlic bread could use a makeover. Overall it's definitely a cool bar, and I'll be going back!
Never been to a restaurant/bar under a pistol before! It is literally a shock when you walk in...it is so well decorated...just cute as can be...and the food is delicious...prices are reasonable...service is fast and friendly. Highly recommend you give this place a try. We're definately going back!
An unexpected great nautical atmosphere!
Located in the historic industrial zone of Kansas City. A unique and innovative redesign of a building to make an unforgettable experience.
Excellent drinks and great food menu.
Nice staff.
Multiple zones/seating areas.
Street parking only.
A must try. Great ambiance and amazing food. Service was great as well. Got the firecracker shrimp po'boy and side of Mac and cheese with a blue Hawaii cocktail; definitely recommend.
Stumbled across this gem by accident. Fantastic food, drinks, music. and service. A highlight of our trip to KC!!!
I usually come here at night for the music 🎵 but decided to come for dinner one day. Turns out they were also playing live music this night inside as well on a random Tuesday. It’s impossible to hear anyone talk when there’s music inside so be aware! Luckily it was nice enough to sit outside. Got the chicken sandwich 🥪 and it was delicious. The fries are to die for 🍟😓🤤🤤🤤. Large portion. Great taste. The atmosphere and music is usually great and it’s a good time too!!! I do enjoy this place. 👍💃
This place is so cute! Didn't see a show there (though I want to now), but went for dinner and drinks. Love the decor and atmosphere. Drinks was good. Food wasn't bad. Will definitely be back!
Amazing nautical place for sailors! This place is the reason I really like not just kansas city but the west bottoms. The ship is extremely unique in so many ways. It's history takes a wild journey of over a hundred years back to prohibition. This this is such a cool place because my my partner and I love sailing, Yet I bet most people don't even know there are lakes to sail on in the midwest, Let alone kansas city. I honestly think there are many people in kansas city that don't even know about the awesome sailing community right here. So how appropriate is ithat that this younique spot is just as unique as the ceiling community here.
If you are looking for a fun atmosphere and good food, The Ship is a great spot! It used to be so hard to get a table on First Friday weekends, but the expansion has really opened it up. I prefer to sit in the old part that feels like your dining in a shop, but the new bar side is open and leaves lots of space for social distancing. The smoked chicken salad is my favorite menu item, but I’ve honestly never had a meal I didn’t enjoy. The staff is always friendly. I would highly recommend.
