Absolutely freaking delicious. First timers here. We were a group of 4, wait time was about 20 min with 3 others ahead of us in the sign in sheet.
Omg the fish was incredible. I left so happy with the food. Go, you won't regret it.
Favorite was the salmon, both raw and garlic~
I think total was about $120 for all 4 to walk out completely stuffed and happy. What a deal!
They were very busy and we had to wait about 45 min. I have posted the new menu that will be in effect on 11/13/23 according to the waitress. The seafood was so fresh I would love to give the food a 5⭐but the rice wasn't quite as good. It's fun to sit at the bar and watch the chefs make the sushi. The prices were reasonable also. I see that a lot of people are doing takeout because of the wait.
Go here if you're HUNGRY! The bowls are huge and can probably be the whole meal for some people. They don't skimp on the portions for sure, even the nigiri slices were bigger than most places! I thought I would have room after my first order of about 4 dishes but I was done, unlike some other places like Genki where I would go at least 3 rounds.
The tempura is also super tasty, I loved the tempura mushrooms it was extra crispy even after sitting there for about 10 minutes while I tackle other stuff, and it was only $1.95!! Highly recommend the tempura items here.
The service was outstanding as well. The waitresses were attentive and friendly along with the chefs in the middle. They checked on us very frequently for water/orders. We were a big group of 9 as well, and they handled everything so smoothly. I work in the restaurant business and even I might've gotten Abit flustered after awhile haha. Definitely giving the employees a 10/10!
All in all, I highly recommend this place, the drive from town to Kapolei is worth it to hit up this place!
Also NOTE they don't take reservations, and the whole group must be there before seating if doing a large party. A minor inconvenience for such a great place 🤙
First time dining here. I don't do sushi but my wife said what she ordered was good. I had the beef & chicken don. It was good, however I enjoyed the chicken portion better than the beef.
Always busy so ordered online for pickup is the best way to eat here. Unfortunately they close at 6pm so unless you have time to wait for dine in for lunch this is your only option. Ordered their Mix Don and Spicy Ahi Don for takeout and never disappoints. Please extend your hours, Sushi Bay 😥
Food was delicious and severs were very nice. Atmosphere was a little fast pace for what I was looking for.
Pretty busy location so they are trying to get you in and out. Very small inside so not ideal for a sit down lunch/dinner. I probably do take out next time.
Everything i tried was delicious, baked muscles were very tasty. Small portions.
Amazing. Amazing. Amazing. I’m gonna be honest, I’m not a sushi fanatic but I’m impressed. Super friendly service, getting asked if I needed anything, and took my plates when I was done! The sushi came out quick and there was 5 of us. This place is delicious & pricing is not bad either. I would definitely recommend their spiny tuna handroll. It was just great. I’m visiting from TX and let me tell you, they nailed it! I’m very happy with this place & recommend you go!
I have gone to the Kapolei location, now about 3-4 times, and despite the wait; the food is exquisitely served with the utmost timely manner. The dine-in experience is so fun and enjoyable. Take-out is a better option if you refuse to wait, or simply cannot. If you are wondering, YES sushi bay is better than Genki’s in my honest opinion. I love the spicy Tuna Don bowl
Sushi bay is one of the best places you can get local sushi. Prices are very reasonable compared to other similar places. Even as a person from town, I will go out of my way to eat here. Service is quick and the chefs are even quicker. I recommend trying the sushi trio then getting your favorite out of the three for a blast of umami garlic flavor.
I've never dined in but Ive had the take out 4xs and its very good and the portions are better than most places. Take out always has a line but it moves quick and each order is made and sent out immediately. Staff seems friendly and the ordering process is also very easy
Love the food here. I wished their dining was open but takeout is easy to order online and fairly quick. Staff is always nice and they’re organized because it gets busy there. Food is fresh, packaged well, and I love that they give you pickled ginger if you ask. My favorite is the spicy scallop. Their udon soup is yummy too.
Great sushi at a very good price. Long wait times to be seated because of how popular this place is. Orders come out fast too. I will probably be back as often as I can.
I know my wife will be coming back since she works in Kapolei regularly.
I should have taken pictures, but I was so hungry after waiting 45 minutes to be seated, and they do last call at 5:00 pm, so we were just focused on eating and getting out
The food was great and the servers were extremely nice and welcoming. Parking is free. There might be a long line depending on when you decide to come. I would recommend coming here to eat if you live in Kapolei.
Its small local place. Its loud inside, portions are small but so are the prices. Overall good experience they closed at 6 pm the server Bean was great. ..
Awesome place to eat!! GET HERE EARLY before 5 or the wait is long. All conveyor belt seating and two tables. Have to wait out side. Awesome prices. Love it :) service was great as well. So the deal here is that they have certain colored plates that cost different prices example: yellow is 1.50 green is 4.50 and so on! At the end one of the waitresses will add up the plates and then you pay! :) Only downfall to going a little early is that they don’t put many on the actual belt. You order and see it made :)
This place is always tasty, always full of people and bargain pricing!
Update: still the same! Wait is the only bad part.
1 hour wait for tonight’s dinner.
9/2022 back for the first time after Covid. No more spinning sushi. But food is still just as good !
By far one of the best sushi places I’ve been in a long time. Reminded me a lot of a little conveyor sushi I went to in Japan.
Great udon soup. Nice portions of fish. Small, busy place. I would order to go here.
