Excellent BBQ and Brisket - and a hearty Brunswick Stew. A good selection of local beers. Enjoyed a Bull Rider lager ... quite the refreshment in the middle of a steamy day

This is the first review I've ever given a place of business but I feel compelled to do so, even though my experience was a month ago. I arrived at the Cherrywood BBQ around 9:20pm and was told by a the hostess that they closed at 9. I asked her for alternatives on the Island and she mentioned that most places closed around 9. She then asked how many people were in my party (everyone was waiting in the car) and she asked me to wait and she what she could do. A few moments later she came back and said they will reopen the kitchen for us!!
I was blown way because she didn't have to go the extra mile for me... And let me call out the obvious here... I'm a Nigerian guy on a golf resort Island where, according to Wikipedia the demographics are 98.19% white and 0.34% African American. If the whole family came in with me, would understand if she felt pressure to do something, but it was just me, in a t-shirt (probably my Ninja Turtles T-shirt that I always wear) and a pair of shorts, so it would have been very easy and understandable, if she simply stopped at "I'm sorry we closed 20 minutes ago".
Given all of the incidents we hear on the news on how people are mistreated for their lifestyles, race or belief system, it was refreshing to know there is still a lot of good in humanity!
I'm sorry I didn't get the name of the hostess, but you know who you are and I want to sincerely thank you for the wonderful experience I had on the night of May 25th...

Unbelievably amazing food and awesome service!!! Best BBQ sandwich I've ever had and the Mac n cheese was AMAZING!!!
Restaurant looks very fancy when you walk in. However, ambiance is really laid-back.
Food: We ordered burgers and ribs. abundance food, we ordered half rack of ribs, and that was more than enough. Burger was also big.
Service: Everyone from the hoat to the waitress was auper attentive.
Price: just average
Overall, it's not a bad place to go and try.
We simply had great meals. The scallops were particularly good. The brisket a little too fatty for my taste but some would enjoy. Our party of 7 had a great experience. Our server, Charles, was excellent. Friendly, efficient and attentive. We enjoyed meeting him.
Best restaurant on the island hands down. Went here for lunch and sat outside because it is more spacious. The inside dining room is a bit crowded. My server, Charles, was exceptional and recommended great drinks and desserts. My go-to bartender is Kristen, but she wasn’t there that day she makes fantastic drinks! The drinks were still good, however. I had the Mule. I decided to eat light, so I had the wedge salad. It’s my favorite salad on the menu always made right with the consistent memorable flavors. With this, I had the lobster hushpuppies. They were fantastic and even better with the aioli. For dessert, the poundcake was recommended which was a nice, light finish to the meal. It was simple and tasty. Overall wonderful place to dine if you’re on the island.

Love this place if only they would change up the menu some. I don’t like too sweet food like I’m eating dessert instead of dinner meal. I also don’t like it when the servers or food runners have very long nails and when they bring the food on the table their whole thumb fake nail is touching my food. I usually eat just half of that plate and leave the part that the huge nail touch, yukkkkk .
Fantastic evening. Another great restaurant of Kiawah with amazing views! Delicious comfort food. Mouth watering Ribs & brisket! Oh and the Mac & Cheese! Evan our server was so wonderful with a delightful personality.
Food was slightly better than average but was expecting better. For being a BBQ place thought their ribs would have been better than they were. Had the pulled pork nachos which had great flavor, super spicy with the jalapeños, would recommend those on the side.
You must request Paul if he's working! He's so nice, professional, and inviting! He's been at Kiawah for 20-ish years and is a real staple to the island. We always look forward to seeing him when we come to visit. It just wouldn't be the same without him! #FreeAddi
We visited the restaurant while out on a walk, and it was wonderful. The views, the different food items, and the service we're all great. I would say the prices are a little high, but the restaurant is in a golf clubhouse of a vacation resort island.
A nice plus was they allowed us to bring our dog on the porch, and they were nice enough for a big bowl of water and a nice party on the head by the staff.
We had two good meals during our stay. Great servers (Aaron tonight) delicious BBQ and unique quesadillas. Cost wise 2 of the more reasonable meals (nothing is cheap on Kiawah). Ignore the bad reviews and ask for pet friendly porch seating. Views are great.

Our food was good and hot, but the mac and cheese was too watery for me. Our server was so attentive and kind. You have a fantastic view while you eat, and we will definitely come back.
Drool. So so so good. We order the family style and then make sandwiches with left overs to enjoy by the beach the next day. I am obsessed with the lobster hush puppies!!
Great barbecue. Competition winning Mac and Cheese. Small restaurant. Beautiful views. Very strong microbrew selection.
